Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive-Chapter 513: White Tiger and Black Tortoise as Vanguard in the Battle
"Hey Little Miao. I don’t think it can be guaranteed that those attacks won’t touch the plants, but at least, the damage can be minimized." Commander Shen said.
"That’s not good enough. If we are to work together with those plants, we have to at least show some sincerity.
We can’t just take advantage of them and hurt them when convenient for us.
From the way these plants only attack the zombies and avoid humans like they are invisible, it can be judged that they either cannot detect human presence, which is unlikely because they must at least be able to feel the power fluctuations when humans use superpowers, or they have developed intelligence.
My money’s on the second possibility.
Those plants definitely have intelligence and if you hurt them in the name of fighting zombies, they might become our enemies next.
So, it’s still better to avoid conflict with them." Chu Miao had seen more than all the leaders there when it came to the supernatural.
So, she could provide accurate advice.
"So, do we wait for the zombies to move closer before launching attacks?" President Yu asked again.
"Not really." Ye Xuan cut in.
He was the same as Chu Miao. His experience with supernatural beings was more profound than the old guys there.
"Then what?" Yu Wane’r was getting restless and couldn’t wait to hear what her two idols had to say.
That’s right, she had started worshipping Chu Miao and Ye Xuan as her idols because they were the strongest, most unique humans she had ever seen.
"How about using creatures that can navigate in between the plants while killing zombies?" Chu Miao suggested.
"What creatures?" Another question followed from a leader in the group.
All of a sudden, a small white tiger appeared on Chu Miao’s shoulder while at the same time, a small black tortoise appeared on Ye Xuan’s shoulder.
"These guys." Chu Miao said, petting the white tiger perched on her shoulder.
When the beasts appeared on their shoulders, it shocked everyone there.
It was normal for Chu Miao to appear and disappear because by now everyone knew about her teleportation ability, but what was up with the two small animals? Where did they come from?
"What is happening and how can those small pets attack zombies?" Another leader asked.
Commander Shen, the president, and a few other leaders who had come to understand Chu Miao and Ye Xuan didn’t question them because they understood that the two never joked or bragged.
But even they wanted to know how the two adorable animals would attack zombies.
Chu Miao didn’t waste any time as she picked the little tiger on her shoulder and threw it out.
"Go." She said.
Ye Xuan did the same almost at the same time and threw the tortoise towards the vegetation below the wall.
The two animals started to enlarge midair following the throwing arc and by the time they landed softly on the ground, they were already so large that it was shocking.
The tiger was almost the size of an elephant in height and the length was almost three meters long.
The tortoise was similar to a small mountain but it moved with such agility that defied natural order.
The two weaved through the plants with such ease that didn’t fit their massive size. But wherever they went, not a single plant was flattened or injured. It was obvious that even some humans might step on the plants by mistake when moving that fast, but these animals were different.
They didn’t touch a plant at all.
"That’s what I mean. These two can work together to kill as many zombies as they can in between the plants and we will deal with those who managed to pass through.
With the trenches also adding a barrier, the number of zombies reaching near the base will have reduced significantly." Chu Miao explained to the shocked leaders and soldiers who were guarding there and had been attracted by the commotion.
"Wow! Where did you guys find those animals that can grow in size?" Yu Wane’r was focused on something completely different from the others.
Chu Miao just pretended not to hear her.
"If that is the case then at least we don’t have to worry.
I believe more people will survive this battle." Commander Shen was gratified that there was still a way for humans to live on.
"Okay, I think we are done here. Let’s go back and focus on training before the watchtowers are done." The president said, floating himself down from the wall.
He thought that it was very cool to have a superpower that defied gravity.
He could also float in the air without support.
Ye Xuan waved his hand and the others also were lifted and lowered to the ground inside the base.
The leaders dispersed with everyone going back to their office to prepare.
Ye Xuan and Chu Miao went to check on the progress in the other areas and correct wherever needed.
By evening, all the trenches had been dug and grenades planted.
The watchtowers were also completed and Commander Shen sent reliable soldiers to keep watch and observe the distance, just in case the zombies attacked without warning. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"Let’s distribute the talismans in case it’s too late when the battle begins." Chu Miao suggested as she walked back to the president’s residence together with Ye Xuan and the other teammates.
"That’s a good idea. We don’t know when those zombies will attack and it might be too late to give the talismans to the soldiers and other survivors who join the battle later." Pei Ming agreed immediately.
So, when they reached the president’s residence, they called for a short meeting and talked about the talismans.
Some of the leaders already knew about them and the report provided by Liang Wei had already told them the usefulness of the talismans.
"Okay, I can have them distributed tonight. Where are they?" Commander Shen asked.
Chu Miao took out a place ring and gave it to Commander Shen.
"They are in there."
This statement made the leaders in the room look at Chu Miao as if she was crazy.
How could the talismans fit in such a small ring?
