Chapter 167: Another Floor

They charged forward again. This time their movements carried far more confidence than before. Their bodies felt lighter. Not like the previous attempts, their stamina had barely dropped and most of their MP still remained untouched. And their minds had become clearer.

The difference was clear to everyone.

Weapons clashed again as they met the armored warriors head again. There were sounds of steel rang sharply across the hill while sparks scattered through the air.

But the twenty fighters no longer moved with the same desperation. They had already seen this battle many times.

The first spear thrust came from the left flank.

One of the fighters sidestepped before it fully extended and slashed across the enemy’s arm after already knowing their move set.

Another warrior stepped forward immediately and finished the enemy with a stab to the chest.

A sword descended from above. The group member raised his shield at the perfect moment, exactly where he knew the strike would fall.

CLANG!

The impact rang loudly, but he didn’t stagger this time. Instead he shoved the armored warrior backward and his teammate drove a blade through the gap in its armor.

More enemies fell.

The fighters gradually began to realize that their leader had been right.

They knew this battle now. They knew the order of attacks, where the gaps in the formation would appear.

They knew when to step forward and when to retreat.

Every reset had carved those patterns deeper into their minds and now they were finally using that knowledge.

An armored warrior tried to break through the center like before.

Two fighters immediately moved to intercept him. One blocked the weapon while the other slashed across its exposed side.

Another enemy tried to flank them.

But someone was already waiting there.

Steel pierced through armor again and one more enemy dead.

The number of armored warriors steadily dropped to forty, to thirty-five, then to thirty.

The fighters began to push forward across the grassy hill.

Their movements grew faster and their coordination improved with every exchange. Confidence slowly replaced the despair that had filled them earlier.

The leader cut down another enemy and glanced across the battlefield. Then his eyes widened.

"Fifteen left!" he shouted. His voice rang across the hill. "We’ve never gotten this far before! Keep pushing!"

The words ignited something inside the group.

Several fighters let out rough laughs.

"About fucking time!"

"Don’t let them regroup!"

"Kill them all!"

Frustration that had been built up through countless failed attempts burst out at once.

One of the female fighters slammed her hammer into an enemy’s helmet and shouted, "This is for every reset we had to suffer, you son of a bitch!"

Another fighter stabbed forward again and again while cursing loudly. "DIE ALREADYYYY!"

Their formation surged forward like a wave.

The remaining armored warriors tried to hold their disciplined line, but the momentum had already shifted.

A spear thrust broke through one soldier’s chest. A sword cut through the gap beneath another warrior’s helmet.

One after another, the armored figures collapsed onto the grass.

Ten enemies remained. Then eight... then five.

The leader drove his blade through the last shield bearer and kicked the body aside.

"Finish them!"

The final armored warrior raised his weapon. Three fighters attacked him at once.

Their weapons and skills flashed. The armored warrior staggered then collapsed onto the hill.

After that, for a moment the battlefield fell completely silent because no more enemies stood.

Only the twenty fighters remained, breathing heavily as they stared at the empty field around them.

Then a series of red windows appeared in the air.

[Thirteenth Floor Cleared]

[Reward Distribution Initiated]

[EXP Granted]

Bright light surrounded the fighters as the system messages continued to appear.

The EXP flooded into their bodies all at once. It hadn’t appeared when they killed each enemy. Instead, it came now, after the entire challenge had been completed.

Several of them blinked in surprise as the notifications continued.

The leader lowered his weapon slowly. A long sigh of relief escaped his mouth.

Then he dropped onto the grass. The others followed soon after. Weapons fell beside them as the fighters collapsed onto the hill one by one.

They let out a tired laugh or simply lay flat on their back and stared up at the gray sky.

They had finally done it. After countless resets and failures, they had finally cleared the floor.

Myles and his group decided that they had already finished their rest. Everyone had allowed their stamina and MP to recover fully before moving again. Now the group stood together near the circular platform that served as the floor’s transition mechanism.

Myles looked at the others one by one.

"Everyone is ready to continue to the eleventh floor, right?" he asked.

No one hesitated to answer ’yes’. They voiced their agreement. Their earlier fatigue had disappeared, replaced by the calm focus that came before another battle.

Myles studied their faces for a moment. Seeing that no one looked hesitant anymore, he nodded in satisfaction.

"Good. Then let’s move."

Lilian stepped forward toward the platform. The runes carved along its circular rim began to glow faintly the moment she approached. She raised her hand and activated the mechanism.

Amber light immediately spread across the platform.

The glow intensified and swallowed the entire group in a flash.

For a brief moment the world disappeared. Then the light faded.

The group found themselves standing in a wide field now. No longer a closed chamber like before.

A vast grassy land stretched in every direction under a gray sky. The wind moved across the tall grass in long waves, making the entire field ripple softly.

But none of them had time to admire the scenery.

Because right in front of them stood a massive group of creatures.

Short figures with hunched backs and dark green skin glared at them with red, hostile eyes. Their bodies were small, but their numbers made up for it. Rusted swords, crude spears, and jagged daggers filled their hands.

There were a lot of them.

Myles quickly scanned the field and frowned slightly.

"There are at least a hundred," he muttered.

The creatures bared their teeth, revealing crooked yellow fangs as they snarled angrily.

Ethan leaned slightly closer and stared at them.

"They look like goblins," he said. "You know... like the ones from video games."

Lilian observed the creatures carefully for a moment before nodding.

"You’re right," she said calmly. "Those are goblins."

As if reacting to their presence, the goblins suddenly erupted into loud screeches.

Then the entire horde began to move.

A wave of green bodies rushed forward with their weapons raised as they charged across the grass toward Myles and his group.
