Apocalypse with my SSS Harem Beauties-Chapter 168: Not Difficult
Myles stepped forward and raised his blades, preparing to lead his group into the charging goblin horde.
But before he could move, a red notification window suddenly appeared in front of his eyes.
[You Are the Leader of This Party]
[Reset was available in this floor]
[To Reset the Current Floor, the Leader Must Say "RESET" Out Loud]
Myles blinked several times as he read the message.
"...What?"
He glanced around instinctively. The others were also staring at empty air with the same focused expressions people always had when reading system notifications.
A moment later their gazes slowly turned toward him, meaning they had received the same information.
Clara shrugged. "Well... that’s good to know, I guess."
Myles shrugged back in response. "Yeah."
Before he could say anything else, Lilian spoke calmly from beside him.
"You should probably focus on those green little things first."
Myles followed her gaze.
The goblin horde was already rushing toward them with loud screeches.
"Right," Myles said. Then he stepped forward and raised his blades. "Alright. Let’s move!"
The group charged.
The goblins screamed as they rushed forward, waving rusted swords and crude spears wildly. Their numbers were intimidating at first glance, but the moment the two sides collided the difference in strength became obvious.
These creatures were ferocious. But they were also stupid.
They attacked individually without coordination. Their movements were chaotic and predictable. Their small bodies also lacked the strength to threaten properly equipped fighters.
Myles slashed at the first goblin that reached him. His blade split its chest cleanly before the creature even realized what had happened.
Another goblin leapt toward him. His curved dagger flashed and the creature collapsed immediately.
Around him the others were doing the same.
Kade smashed goblins aside with heavy punches. Victor’s cleaver slashed brutally at multiple enemies in wide arcs. Daniel slipped through the chaos and cut down targets one after another with precise strikes of his twin bluish daggers.
Gunshots cracked through the air as Ethan fired into the densest parts of the horde.
Clara intercepted anything that tried to slip past the front line while Samantha’s arrows dropped goblins from the rear.
The battlefield quickly filled with green bodies. Even so, the fight didn’t end instantly. There were simply too many goblins.
Wave after wave rushed at them, forcing the group to keep fighting for several long minutes before the last of the creatures finally died.
At last the field grew quiet again. Green corpses covered the grass in every direction.
But none of Myles’ group looked even remotely injured.
Their breathing remained steady. Their stamina and MP had barely been touched.
It was a clear sign of how much stronger they had become.
Kade slowly turned his head and looked around the battlefield.
"That’s it?" he said.
George laughed and grinned at him.
"Look at you. You’ve gotten so crazy you’re disappointed there isn’t more fighting."
Kade grinned. The expression looked slightly wild. "I think I really have gone mad."
That made several of them laugh.
The tension that had built up earlier quickly faded.
Myles shook his head slightly, then turned toward the center of the field where the transition platform had appeared.
"Alright," he said. "Let’s move to the next floor."
The group gathered near the platform.
Amber light spread across the circular mechanism the moment Lilian activated it again.
The world blurred and a flash of light swallowed them.
And then they arrived on the next floor.
The environment changed immediately.
The soft grassy plain from the previous floor was gone.
Jagged rock formations rose from the ground in every direction. Sharp stone pillars jutted upward like broken teeth while uneven stone covered the ground beneath their feet.
It felt colder and harder. More hostile.
But what stood in front of them was even more noticeable.
Hundreds of figures made of solid rock stood across the rocky field.
Their shapes resembled human bodies, but their entire forms were built from rough stone. They have thick arms and heavy torsos and cracked rock faces without expressions.
Each one of them looked as if it had been carved from a mountain. And the moment the group appeared, those stone figures began to move.
Rock scraped against rock as the creatures stepped forward.
Myles studied them for a moment before turning to Lilian.
"Do you know anything about these rockmen?"
Lilian glanced at the approaching creatures. Then she snorted lightly.
"No."
Her tone made it sound as if Myles had just asked her to identify a random ant she had stepped on.
Myles sighed. "Okay."
He turned back toward his companions.
"Same plan as before," he said. "Just kill them."
The others grunted in agreement.
Across the rocky plain, the army of stone creatures suddenly began charging. Hundreds of rockmen rushed toward them at once.
Myles moved first and ran forward across the rocky ground as the army of stone creatures rushed toward them.
The others followed without hesitation. Their feet slammed against the uneven terrain while the distance between the two sides disappeared quickly.
The first rockman raised its heavy arm and swung.
Myles stepped inside the attack and slashed with his short sword.
CLANG!
The blade hit the creature’s body, but instead of cutting through flesh it crashed against solid stone. Sparks scattered from the impact and the sword barely sank into the rocky surface.
"Damn!"
Before he could adjust, the rockman’s other arm smashed into him.
The heavy blow knocked him backward. His boots scraped across the stone as he skidded several meters before stopping.
Myles steadied himself and quickly raised his weapon again.
"They’re tougher than the goblins," he said. "Put more strength into your attacks. Their skin is hard!"
The others understood immediately.
"Got it!" Kade replied.
The two sides collided across the rocky plain.
CLANG!
CLANG!
CLANG!
The sound of metal smashing against stone echoed across the battlefield again and again, producing ringing impacts as weapons crashed into the rockmen’s bodies.
This time the group attacked with far more force.
Kade stepped in and drove a burning punch straight into a rockman’s chest. Cracks spread across its body before the creature shattered apart.
Victor swung his cleaver with brutal strength. The heavy blade smashed through a rockman’s shoulder and split the creature in half.
Daniel moved quickly between enemies. His daggers struck the same point repeatedly until the rock surface fractured and collapsed.
Gunshots rang out as Ethan fired into the advancing horde and Samantha’s arrows pierced through weakened joints in the creatures’ bodies.
The rockmen kept charging.
But just like the goblins, they showed almost no intelligence. They moved straight forward without coordination, attacking blindly with heavy swings.
They were durable. But predictable.
Once the group adjusted their strength, the battle quickly turned one-sided.
Myles dashed forward again and stabbed into a crack formed by Victor’s earlier strike. The rockman broke apart instantly.
Around him the others continued smashing through the horde.
Stone fragments scattered across the battlefield as the rock creatures collapsed one after another.
Even though there were hundreds of them, the fight never truly became dangerous.
Minutes passed. Eventually the last rockman collapsed into stone ground.
Silence slowly returned to the rocky field as fragments of shattered bodies covered the ground.
The group stood there breathing steadily.
Once again, none of them had suffered any injuries.
They had simply crushed the entire army.
"The amount of Ether here is good. You all better absorb this," Lilian suddenly said.
