Apocalypse with my SSS Harem Beauties-Chapter 94: Regrouped
They regrouped as planned. One by one, figures slipped through the ruins and converged near the reported location, careful not to draw attention.
They chose a partially collapsed house across the street, far enough that the giant wouldn’t sense them but close enough that the broken house stayed within clear sight.
From the second floor, shattered windows framed the distant structure. Myles crouched near the window and slowly peeked through the cracked glass.
The house where the giant hid stood silent. Too silent that it was weird. Shadows clung to its walls and the doorway looked like a mouth waiting to swallow something whole. Even from this distance, the magical energy of Ether pressure pressed against Myles’s skin.
He clenched his jaw and stepped back.
The words rose to his tongue immediately. He wanted to say, "We need to move and attack now!"
But they died there.
He looked at the others, noticing fear sat openly on their faces. They were filled with hesitation. The kind of feeling that rooted people in place and could get them killed.
Myles sighed through his nose and shook his head once.
"We must attack first," he said. His voice stayed low but firm. "If we wait, he chooses the time and we will lose the element of surprise. We must attack with everything we have."
Silence followed his words for a couple of seconds.
Ethan broke it.
He nodded firmly. His eyes sharp and his hands gripping his twin pistols with their golden linings catching the dim light.
"I agree. Let’s attack!"
Victor stiffened immediately.
"Don’t be hasty," he said. His voice carried gravity that was heavy with memory. His mind dragged him back to the apartment complex, to the screaming and blood. The moment the giant took his girlfriend.
"That giant is not like normal monsters. He knows how to kill and has human intelligence, maybe even smarter."
The air grew heavier.
Daniel, Clara, Kade, and George exchanged uneasy looks. They didn’t like the idea. Their bodies tensed, their hands hovered near weapons, and doubt filled their hearts.
However, there was also another who looked determined. Samantha stayed still but she was actually pretty resolute about Myles’s plan. Ryan’s posture leaned forward and ready. Nadine’s expression never changed. She had already chosen to follow Myles from the start.
Myles said nothing for now.
He turned away from the window and stared at the cracked floor as his thoughts churned.
If they attacked now, his people would get hurt. Maybe killed. If they didn’t, the giant would move eventually and then they would be losing the element of surprise.
Myles lifted his head and looked at them one by one.
"I understand that this is terrifying," he said. His tone stayed calm and grounded. "But look at us now. We aren’t as weak as we were before."
He took a step forward.
"We’ve risen many levels. We’ve gained real strength. We even carry magical weapons now." His gaze lingered on each of them. "You all know how powerful those weapons are. You’ve felt it."
Silence followed, but it changed.
The fear didn’t disappear, yet doubt about their weaknesses began to crack. One by one, they started to reconsider. Memories surfaced again about the monsters they had killed, battles they had survived, and power they never imagined having before.
Nadine clicked her tongue.
"He’s right," she said flatly. She tightened her grip on her quarterstaff, bluish light pulsing faintly along its surface. "You’re not weak anymore. Stop acting like a pussy."
Victor let out a long sigh.
"Alright," he said at last. "I agree to attack."
That broke the last fragile wall.
Daniel nodded slowly. Clara followed. Kade swallowed and gave a stiff nod. George hesitated the longest, then finally agreed as well.
Doubt still lingered in their eyes but confidence began to form as well. The bravery that was drawn from their weapons, their levels, and the pressure radiating from Myles and Nadine and Victor standing at the front.
Eventually, all of them agreed.
George spoke again, his voice thoughtful. "I did consider abandoning this area at first. But then I remembered something."
He glanced around.
"This place is close to the Ether Rift and the Soul Forge Altar. We can’t afford to lose access to that, right?"
Myles nodded. "You’re right."
Daniel raised a hand slightly. "I think we still need a bit of preparation."
He met Myles’s gaze and continued quickly. "Just a little. Enough time for everyone to finish their armor. If the giant decides to move location, we will attack immediately. If not yet, we wait until everyone is properly equipped."
Myles stayed silent for three seconds.
Then he nodded.
"Alright," he said. "Victor, you stay here and keep watch. The rest of us will go back with George and finish the armors."
The plan settled into place.
After that, the group moved down the broken stairs and slipped out of the house one by one.
They broke into a careful run through debris and ruined streets toward their shelter. No one spoke.
Several of them glanced back repeatedly, eyes fixed on the distant house, half-expecting the giant to burst through the walls at any second.
But luckily nothing moved.
The silence followed them all the way back.
They finally reached the house they used as a shelter, its reinforced doors and barricaded windows offering a thin sense of safety.
The sky had begun to darken, dusk bleeding into the ruins with muted orange and gray tones.
"Tonight, nobody sleeps," he said, not waiting for them to settle. "We gather more metal. George will forge the remaining armor. We will finish this as soon as possible."
No one said anything. They all understood what was at stake.
Weapons were checked. Bags were grabbed. Groups formed again without needing orders.
Some of them headed toward abandoned vehicles and collapsed buildings and the others moved toward wrecked buildings rich with scrap and usable materials. George went straight to the forge setup, grabbing his golden hammer, already planning what pieces he needed first.
The group spread out beneath the dimming sky, silhouettes moving through the ruins with urgency burning in their steps.
