Apocalyptic Beastworld: A Farming Space Dimension to Another World-Chapter 142: Crushed!
Su Mingze no longer cared much about her, and he somewhat also trusted Zhao Yuyin to some degree. Hence, he let her take the grandparents’ items to Su Yining.
How troublesome, Su Yining thought in her mind.
She originally wanted him to just ship the items to her office’s address or even one of her brother’s properties. But now that it had been handed over to Zhao Yuyin, she made it difficult for her.
Some of her grandparents’ items included the jewelry that her grandpa had bought for her grandma in their younger days. They indeed left some of them in their son’s place.
Originally, some of the jewelry also included limited edition goods they gave to her mom. However, she never wanted to wear them. When they divorced, she didn’t even take them with her.
Su Yining stared at the luxurious restaurant in front of her, sighing for the umpteenth time.
Zhao Yuyin didn’t dare to covet the jewelry or secretly sell them because it might incur her husband’s displeasure, but she definitely wouldn’t mind taking her part of inheritance if she ’voluntarily’ gave it to Su Ruolan.
"Are you looking for Mrs. Su, Miss? Let me lead you to her," A waitress greeted her as soon as she entered the place.
She led Su Yining away toward Zhao Yuyin’s location.
This scene felt somewhat indescribably familiar, just like what had happened a few months ago. It was just that this time, she had come to meet Zhao Yuyin instead of a chance encounter.
Zhao Yuyin had learned not to pick a place with a lot of people now. It seemed that people’s accusing eyes had traumatized her a bit.
"Yining, come and sit. I have ordered some dishes for you," Zhao Yuyin smiled.
The waitress helped to pull the seat for her before she excused herself. Now, there were only both of them in the vicinity. Other diners were sitting far away from them.
Su Yining glanced at the dishes with disinterest. She didn’t even take a sip of the water. It was better safe than sorry. She didn’t know if Zhao Yuyin had put anything in them.
"Where’s the items?" She went straight to the point.
Zhao Yuyin’s smile was wiped off her face, stiffening. "You are really impatient, huh?"
"I don’t want to spend any more seconds with you. Just give them to me directly. I know that you can’t stand my presence either," she tilted her head.
"Very well." Zhao Yuyin’s face turned cold, tinged with anger. "Let me get straight to the point."
"How about this? Let’s make a deal with each other. You give Lan’er the inheritance and I will give you the items. These jewelry are no less expensive than the inheritance either," Zhao Yuyin proposed. "You can get a lot of money if you sell them."
Su Yining didn’t immediately respond. She stared at Zhao Yuyin’s expression, analyzing. Zhao Yuyin’s expression visibly shifted slightly with discomfort.
She tilted her head and curled her lips. "Father doesn’t know that her good daughter has been arrested for pushing a girl into a lake, huh? That’s an attempted murder."
Zhao Yuyin’s eyes widened. Her expression was a mixture of shock and shame. "H-how do you know?"
Su Yining raised her eyebrows. "Is that important? But now I know why you are so anxious about getting the inheritance from me, Mrs. Zhao. You want to secretly get her out of jail? Making peace with the victim’s family?"
She had done a bit of research on this friend of Su Ruolan, and she found out that her parents had demanded a large sum from the Su family. Most likely, Su Mingze didn’t know about this because Zhao Yuyin had blocked the news from reaching him.
As such, the one receiving the demand for a large sum of money must have been Zhao Yuyin. They were truly lucky, or... the victim’s family might have known about Su Ruolan’s position within the family and took advantage of it.
Clearly, this family’s daughter was still missing even after a few days of search, but they were fussing about money instead.
Zhao Yuyin gritted her teeth. "Do you still want your grandparents’ items or not?"
There was a warning in her eyes, threatening her.
Su Yining smiled. "You want to do something to my grandparents’ items if I refuse to cooperate, huh? Unfortunately, I am indeed not willing to cooperate. You can save your energy."
She stood up, assuming the look Zhao Yuyin just gave her. Rubbing her chin, she pondered out loud, "If Father hears about you still not delivering the items to me or even breaking them, I wonder how he will react?"
Zhao Yuyin gritted her teeth. She shoved the small box to the table. "Here."
Su Yining smiled. "Thanks, Mrs. Zhao. I will get going first~"
With that, she reached out for the box, turned around, and then walked toward the exit door of the restaurant. Her back was facing Zhao Yuyin. Hence, she didn’t see the malice that flashed in the older woman’s eyes.
After she exited the restaurant, she took out her phone and tucked the box safely inside her bag. She had taken a brief look at the box, making sure they really were complete.
She tapped her phone, wanting to call a taxi to return home. When she glanced back inside the restaurant, she saw Zhao Yuyin also heading toward the exit.
Of course, she just ignored her.
However, she didn’t expect that Zhao Yuyin’s expression would abruptly change when she saw her playing with her phone.
"Who are you contacting? Are you telling him?" She demanded, taking quick strides toward her.
Su Yining frowned, not wanting to bother with this crazy woman. Unfortunately, Zhao Yuyin seemed to be extremely agitated.
She did something she never thought she would do. Zhao Yuyin snatched the phone from her hand, and then, she threw it toward the street, where a car immediately passed by and ran over the phone.
Su Yining almost stopped breathing.
