Apocalyptic Beastworld: A Farming Space Dimension to Another World-Chapter 143: Feeling Lost
Su Yining almost jumped into the street, but someone caught her.
"Ningning!" Su Jinghe clutched his younger sister tightly. He dragged her from the side of the road as another car passed by.
He took a deep breath, wanting to scold her, but when he saw her distraught expression, he suddenly couldn’t bear to say anything harsh. Frustrated, he shifted his anger to the culprit, Zhao Yuyin.
Seeing his glare, Zhao Yuyin shivered. She could bully the Su family’s biological daughter, but the eldest son was harder to handle. After all, they didn’t live under the same roof.
It was also harder to touch him because ultimately, the Su family’s fortune might fall into his head someday. Unless Su Mingze had an illegitimate son somewhere.
However, Zhao Yuyin absolutely couldn’t let an illegitimate son exist because it would threaten her position. There would be another woman! Su Mingze also didn’t seem to be a lecherous individual so far.
When he was too busy to channel his anger, Su Yining suddenly ran away from his grasp. His heart nearly leaped out of his chest.
Fortunately, Su Yining was quick. She merely grabbed her phone and went back to the side of the street. Looking at the crushed phone on her hand, her heart was bleeding.
The screen was cracked and the other parts were also crushed. It might be impossible to recover it.
"I will buy you a new phone." Su Jinghe heaved a sigh of relief and pulled her to his side. After he said that, he dragged his younger sister toward his car and gently shoved her inside.
Zhao Yuyin was nowhere to be found, absolutely frightened by Su Jinghe’s looks. His fierce look was filled with warning.
Su Yining sat blankly in the car, suddenly thinking. Can she even recover her game progress? She couldn’t even remember whether she had logged in with an account or not...
On top of that, Yuanyuan was also unconscious. Without both of them, what would become of the base? The beastmen had worked so hard to build their safe heaven. If the base were to be destroyed, they would also lose their lives...
Once they arrived at the cell phone store, Su Jinghe told her to pick whatever model she wanted. Anyway, her phone was already so old.
The data might be tricky, but they could try to bring it to the mobile service center to see if there was any hope for retrieving the data.
"Ningning, which model do you like the best?" Su Jinghe asked.
She had been in a daze since earlier, and it made him worried. Su Yining turned to him in puzzlement, "Ah?"
Then, she realized they were in a mobile phone shop. "Just pick any phone..."
Helpless, he could only pick one with the best specifications and the latest model. Since it was something that could make her appear so distraught, it must have been related to Zhao Yuyin.
He frowned, brainstorming various ways to deal with that old witch.
"Brother, I don’t feel well, can we go home?" She tugged on his sleeve.
He immediately agreed. It was almost dinner time, and she probably hadn’t eaten anything yet. On the way home, he ordered some takeaway first.
Xiao Lei greeted them once they opened the door, meowing loudly. Soon, it also noticed its owner’s sorrow. Its attention immediately shifted to Su Jinghe, identifying him as the culprit.
"Xiao Lei." Before it could trot to Su Jinghe and scratch him, she picked it up and hugged the fluffy thing. Her heart was a little bit relieved somehow.
Xiao Lei understood its mission; it rubbed itself against her in an attempt to calm her down.
"Check your phone," Su Jinghe sighed and gave her the phone. "There’s a new SIM card inside."
She took the phone from him, pursing her lips. Although her brother had offered for her to check the phone a few times, she always refused. She wanted to wait until they had arrived home.
There was this hint of fear in her heart.
She kept thinking of all sorts of scenarios for the worst possible outcome. Just the thought of being unable to meet Yuanyuan again already filled her with inexplicable pain.
Her hand touched her chest; why is she so attached to a fictional game character now...?
Once she put the SIM card, she and her brother exchanged numbers again. This time, she didn’t forget to remind him not to spread her phone number before he left.
Su Jinghe only stayed for a brief dinner before he returned home.
This time, she finally had some peace for herself. Xiao Lei was truly an obedient and thoughtful cat. Seeing that her spirits were still low, it even dragged her favorite potted Devil’s Ivy to comfort her.
"I am fine, Xiao Lei..." she touched the new phone.
It gave her a different feeling, more mundane. Unlike the odd feeling her old phone often radiated.
She tried to find the game again, wanting to download it. The game should be called ’Apocalypse Survival’...
Her finger moved to scroll down the list. She couldn’t find it on the farming game section, so she just typed the name directly. Previously, although it wasn’t at the top ranking, it was still on the top ten of the most popular farming games.
Her heartbeat quickened. She went to the search engine to look for the game, however... she still couldn’t find it.
What went wrong with the game? Even if they erased it, there should be some traces of the game, like mention or players simply discussing it.
All the apocalypse games she found were more action and fighting focused. There was no farming involved. It was truly confusing.
As if... the few months she spent with the base members and Yuanyuan were merely her illusion. Su Yining wondered whether she had gone crazy.
She decided to call her brother. Once he picked up the call, she directly asked, "Brother, do you remember the apocalypse game I have shown you before?"
