Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 58: Leaving the hotel
Chapter 58: Leaving the hotel
Elena was awakened by a sudden noise in the corridor. Someone was raising their voice and arguing.
As she opened her eyes, she spotted Ethan, already dressed and brimming with energy—a stark contrast to her sleepy and disheveled state.
’What the heck? How could this man be full of energy?’
If Elena only knew how Ethan held himself back while seeing her in this alluring state, she would definitely be shocked.
’Haist, his wife is really seducing him again.’
"Good morning, wife. Here, drink some water," Ethan said lovingly, handing her a glass.
With a raspy tone, she asked, "What’s going on outside?"
Hearing her own voice, she was stunned and glared at the man responsible for it.
"Wife, drink a lot of water," Ethan said guiltily.
He continued, "A burglar has entered and robbed someone else’s room. The person immediately notified the manager when they woke up and saw their belongings gone. But the manager couldn’t do anything, and that person exploded in anger. When some rescuers arrived, she accused the hotel employees of robbing her. After that, things got heated, and they argued."
Elena raised her eyebrows at the situation. People had started to believe that the law was ineffective in chaotic times.
"What time is it? Did you check the water level?" Elena asked.
Seeing that his wife was no longer angry, Ethan leaned in and gave her a loving kiss. "It’s almost six, and the water has finally receded, but the streets are full of mud and debris."
"It’s fine; we just need to wear proper attire. Let’s have breakfast first, then leave immediately," Elena suggested.
After eating, they began to dress appropriately. She was thankful that her husband had cleaned her up properly after their yesterday activities. She wanted to wear a lightweight tops, but the marks on her neck were so visible that she opted for a jacket, considering it might be a little chilly outside.
"I told you to stop leaving obvious marks on my neck. Look, they’re so dark and visible."
Ethan received another glare from his wife.
She couldn’t blame him; she was too irresistible, and he wanted the whole world to know that Elena was his beloved wife.
He smiled, hugged her, and teasingly said, "Wife, it looks beautiful on you. How about you put some on me too?"
"Enough! Let’s leave now; the earlier, the better," Elena replied, finally putting on her attire: boots, long pants, a jacket, and a mask.
’Calm yourself down! Your husband is just playing.’
They immediately left the room and went to find the manager.

In the corridor, the entitled Nerisa was arguing with the employees, demanding her belongings back. Thanks to Uncle Williams’ generosity, she had landed a gig for a brand photoshoot. But before she could process the job, a series of natural disasters struck like thunder.
Now, she was distressed; she couldn’t contact Mr. Smith and felt trapped in the hotel.
"Where is my stuff? You had better give it back to me!" Nerisa demanded, her voice rising.
The manager was in a bad mood. He had reminded everyone several times to secure their belongings and lock their doors. With many security personnel and employees gone to check on their loved ones, the hotel will be vulnerable.
"Miss, I told you we don’t know anything. The electricity was cut off, and the CCTV is down. We have no clues about who robbed you. How about you file a case at the police station? I will join you," he suggested, trying to remain calm.
Nerisa snapped back, "Excuses! Just more excuses. Get my things now!"
Seeing the situation escalate, the rescuers quickly intervened. "Miss, how about you come with us to the evacuation center? You can contact someone there."
"No! Not unless they return my things," Nerisa stubbornly refused.
Out of options, the manager asked, "Miss, what exactly was stolen?"
"It’s a branded bag from my client, and I need to return it after this photoshoot," Nerisa replied matter-of-factly.
Meanwhile, Elena was waiting for Ethan to return; he had gone to find the manager to pay for their hotel room. As she waited, she heard a familiar voice coming from downstairs. Curious, she decided to go down and see who it was.
When she reached the floor, she saw Nerisa, Uncle Williams’ mistress, arguing with the manager and the rescuers.
She immediately interrupted them, saying, "Manager, we will check out now."
Hearing someone speak, they looked up to see a young woman dressed in a safety suit.
The moment Nerisa saw Elena, her anger flared. She hadn’t forgotten what this woman had done at the banquet. Now everyone in the entertainment industry knew she had a sugar daddy.
"What are you doing here?" Nerisa shouted, raising her voice.
"None of your business," Elena shot back.
Knowing that this young woman was acquainted with Nerisa, the manager hoped she could convince her to go to the police station instead of making things difficult for him.
"Miss, do you know her?" he asked.
"Not really. What exactly happened?" Elena replied, her curiosity piqued.
"They stole my purse, and you should check your belongings; you might find something missing," Nerisa insisted, trying to rattle Elena into compliance.
Elena raised an eyebrow. "The one with the brand XXX and a gold stripe pattern?"
Nerisa was stunned, her eyes wide with disbelief. "You—how did you know? Did you steal it?"
Elena chuckled, looking at her as if she were a joke. "I saw your purse floating around in the lobby. We were the last ones to go inside before the tsunami hit. Maybe you lost it in the panic, and now that you can’t pay for the purse, you’re trying to make a scene to blame someone else. Well done!"
She turned to the manager with a smirk. "By the way, this woman works in entertainment and is very good at acting."
Everyone was stunned by this revelation, their expressions shifting to question Nerisa.
The manager snapped, anger flaring. "You want to scam me? How dare you? Rescuers, this woman wants to tarnish our hotel’s name!"
Nerisa’s face turned pale.
’How could this woman be so smart?’
"She’s lying!" Nerisa defended herself, her voice rising in indignation.
"We can find out later, though. Let’s go downstairs to the lobby," Elena suggested, her tone calm and collected.
Ethan had already arrived a while ago. When he saw his wife arguing so calmly with someone, he couldn’t help but smile brightly.
’Wife is so cute.’
They made their way downstairs to check on the missing purse. Elena pointed to the area where she had last seen it, and they immediately spotted it in a hidden corner, half-buried in mud.
The manager, finally relieved, turned to Nerisa with an angry glare.
"Miss, what do you have to say now? The purse is right here."
Nerisa was speechless, her face contorting in anger as she glared at Elena, feeling her efforts had been rendered worthless.
Elena smirked and added, "By the way, my uncle is in the hospital—your sugar daddy. You should visit him sometimes."
Everyone’s brows shot up in surprise. So this woman is a mistress
With that, Elena turned to leave, but Nerisa snapped out of her shock and charged toward her, intent on pushing her into the mud.
Elena noticed her approach and quickly signaled Ethan to stay put, confident she could handle the situation herself. As Nerisa closed the distance, Elena skillfully sidestepped to the left.
With a surprised yelp, Nerisa lost her balance and stumbled forward, landing face-first in the mud. The crowd gasped, then laughed, while Elena stood tall with a satisfied grin.
"Maybe next time, think twice before charging at someone. By the way, great pose!" she called out mockingly.
