Chapter 59: Armored Vehicle

On the other hand, in City A, the situation was still under control. The military and police patrolled the streets hourly, assisting residents amid the damaged buildings and scattered debris.

Their presence provided a sense of security, as they helped clear pathways and delivered supplies to those in need. The officers worked diligently to ensure that citizens would not lose hope, encouraging them to remain calm and follow the rules.

Alongside them, the cleaning department actively cleared the city center, striving to restore normalcy as quickly as possible.

Law enforcement remained effective in this city; looters were swiftly arrested if caught in the act.

Meanwhile, Oslo and Xander, though distressed by the sudden earthquake, were determined to store all the materials they had ordered the previous week.

Today, Oslo was set to meet with the person who had modified their car, transforming it into an armored vehicle capable of deflecting explosives.

Arriving at the meeting point, Oslo spotted the person who had handled the modifications waiting for him.

The person waved and said, "Boss, I’ve completed the modification. The armored vehicle is fully equipped according to our discussion."

Oslo and the modifier had previously discussed the details of the enhancements. The armored car featured high-strength steel plating for ballistic protection, a V-shaped hull to deflect blasts, bulletproof windows, a reinforced suspension system for stability, run-flat tires for escape, enhanced electrical systems for communication, a reinforced interior for occupant safety, and camouflage for stealth.

After inspecting the quality of the armored vehicles, Oslo concluded that the modifications were excellent and paid the final amount.

Out of curiosity, the person asked, "Boss, are these armored vehicles yours?"

He felt a twinge of fear; such modifications were often associated with illegal activities like robbery. He didn’t want to be arrested for helping to create a "monster vehicle."

Oslo raised his brows and quickly crafted an alibi. "This is confidential, military property. No one should know about this. Do you understand?"

The person nodded immediately. "Of course, boss. Thank you for trusting us."

After the person left, Oslo drove the vehicle to a secluded area and entered the space with it.

He then made his way to Central Haven, heading toward the community section where the portable houses were located. Once there, he used a device to call the team.

"Hello! Anyone on Paradise right now?"

Upon hearing the device beep and someone talk, the team immediately replies.

"I’m here," Grandpa Caldwell said, his voice crackling through the device.

He was the one taking good care of the farming livestock, which thrived happily in their pens. Every day, he would collect eggs from the chickens while Butler Aki drove and stored them in the Southern Inventory Sector.

Thankfully, the Golden Tablet could clean any area it deemed dirty. According to Elena, an immortal had cast spells to maintain the environmental quality using the Golden Tablet’s spiritual energy stored in the Energy Reserved Tab.

Well, this required a significant amount of jade and antiques to keep it functioning.

"I’m also here," Grandpa Ford said as he maneuvered the farming equipment.

He was busy planting fruit seeds in the Western Fertile Soil Sector. For now, he is focused on fruits and planning to move on to the vegetable farm area next. Thanks to his efforts, this sector was beginning to take shape.

Meanwhile, Grandma Ford was engrossed in studying the soils and seeds in the portable laboratory they had temporarily set up. She aimed to discover how to make these seeds more resilient and was also experimenting to see if the modified ones could thrive under challenging conditions.

"I’m also here," Uncle Anthony chimed in.

He was currently fixing the meat processor, and thankfully, as a mechanical engineer, he only needed a blueprint to identify what was missing.

"I’m here," Butler Aki added, busy listing the materials needed for restocking.

He had taken on the role of manager for the Southern Inventory Sector. Although he had hoped his master would take on the responsibility, Grandpa Caldwell had declined, expressing his disdain for inventory work. His dream was to become a simple animal farmer.

Meanwhile, Aunt Liza was monitoring a still-recovering Lucy. She was with little Mia, who kept pestering her about the big sister in the hospital ward.

"Mom, someone is tawking hewe," little Mia said, handing the communication device to her mother.

They listened as Oslo’s voice came through.

"Grandpas, Uncle. Come to the Central Haven community center. The armored vehicle has already been delivered and it is quite impressive."

Everyone paused for a moment, intrigued, and made their way to see the armored vehicle that Oslo was so proud of.

Aunt Liza, curious herself, told little Mia to play for a while.

"Little Mia, go play with Poochi and Mimi for a bit. Mom will see the vehicle."

Little Mia, with an aggrieved tone, replied, "But all of them are busy! Poochi is twaining. Bwother said he has to, or else there won’t be any food for him. And I can’t find Mimi!"

Meanwhile, Mimi was at the Eastern Lake, determinedly searching for the big delicious fish she couldn’t let go of.

"Then you can come with me to see the vehicle," Aunt Liza said.

"Yay!" Little Mia jumped for joy.

When they arrived at the community sector, they were greeted by the sight of the imposing armored vehicle.

Grandpa Caldwell was intrigued by this armored vehicle; it was different from the military vehicles he had hoarded.

"This is imposing but so low-key," he remarked.

He then asked for the armored vehicle’s specifications, and Oslo eagerly shared details about its modifications and capabilities.

Afterward, they decided to ride it for a test drive. Little Mia sprang into action, eager to hop inside the vehicle. She wanted to brag later to Poochi and Mimi about riding such a unique car.

After the test, they all agreed that the vehicle was impressive. With much to do and limited time in the space, they quickly returned to their respective agendas.

Returning outside, Oslo made his way to the warehouse that Elena had rented. Ms. Shantel had informed him earlier that they had retrieved the car that had been stranded during the earthquake, and the medicine was scheduled to be delivered later that morning.

When Shantel arrived at the warehouse, she immediately instructed the team to unload the medicine.

"Ms. Shantel," Oslo greeted her.

Upon seeing Oslo, she returned the greeting but her expression turned serious. "Mr. Oslo, this will be the last batch of medicine we can provide, as we can’t take any more orders."

Oslo was taken aback. He still wanted to buy more supplies, so he asked, "What happened?"

"Alas, the City A border will be closing soon. City B is now overrun with criminals, and they plan to enter City A. The military has decided to close the border, meaning no one can enter or exit this city anymore. I can’t outsource products in the meantime, so I can’t provide anything to sell," she explained. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

Oslo was speechless, realizing that Chief and his sister-in-law were currently traveling to City B.

"I see. Well, we just need to follow the government’s lead," he replied, trying to remain composed.

Afterward, they completed the transaction, and Oslo stored the items inside the space. He then drove back to Camel Tower, rushing to enter the space.
