Armipotent-Chapter 1819: Unachiever
A hundred and ten corpses poofed into the black smoke. Tang Shaoyang did not focus on the actual thing before him but on the notification in his head. This was not a normal summon where he usually checked the notification last after he saw the summoned spirit first.
[You have summoned Grade S Spirit, Valiant Soldier - Ruben!]
A figure in silver armor with a sword on his back, and a sword on his waist. The armor was different from the current Hurakan Legion’s armor. Still, he was sure it was the old armor of the Hurakan Legion. He furrowed his brow that a hundred God Rank sacrifices could only summon Grade S Spirit.
Tang Shaoyang let out a sigh, a disappointing result. Grade S Spirit was considered a low-rank spirit compared to his spirit arsenal. He thought of sending the man back to the void instead of establishing a contract, but he felt it was wrong to send the summoned spirit back.
He did not know how long Ruben had been waiting for this summon. The last thing he could do was to offer the soldier a contract. Whether the soldier agreed to the contract or not, it was up to the spirit to decide it himself.
[You are getting overly emotional after Castor’s death.] Zara whispered in his head. She was the only one who knew what he thought.
"Let’s make it quick. Form a contract with me for ten years, and in return, I will resurrect you. Or you can serve me longer, and I will increase your rank. I am not here for a negotiation, because I don’t really need a spirit in your rank, and it takes quite a lot to raise your rank to my standard. This is the best I can offer." Tang Shaoyang offered the contract with no nonsense.
Ruben could not help but glance at the spirits around Tang Shaoyang, and he immediately knew that his summoner was telling him the truth about not needing him because his rank was too low. However, as Tang Shaoyang thought, he had been waiting for this summon for too long to decline the offer, but he could not decide which choice was the best for him. "I want to form the contract, but can we establish the contract first and let me decide about the choice later? Can you add that clause?"
Tang Shaoyang agreed and established the contract. Ruben turned into a silver orb and entered Tang Shaoyang’s forehead.
[You have established a contract with Grade S Spirit, Valiant Soldier, Ruben!]
"That’s not enough sacrifice, but I am afraid of using too many sacrifices…" He muttered in a low voice as he already thought of the next summoning. If he had to guess, five or ten more sacrifices would summon Grade SS Spirit. If he used too many sacrifices he might summon a stronger spirit than Castor.
"Remember, the spirit, at least the dead spirit, is usually weaker compared to when they were alive. I have to say that Castor was at best a Grade SSS Spirit. It makes sense that he is a Grade SS Spirit instead of a Grade SSS Spirit." Avyn reminded once more.
"And I think it’s better to use his body this time to increase the odds," Vandir added at the end.
His spirits believed that Castor was at best a Grade SSS Spirit, everyone agreed with Avyn’s assessment, including Zephyr, the spirit who integrated with Castor.
Tang Shaoyang played it safe by putting a hundred Hurakan Legion soldiers, fifty calamities, and Castor’s body. He asked one of the shadows to retrieve the body which received resistance from his team, but they were helpless against the shadow.
His team members tried to approach the hole, but his spirits stopped anyone from reaching the hole. He made sure to put Mein’s body in the sacrifice as well. He was ready for the second attempt to bring back Castor.
"And remember that the requirement is to be a spirit. One must have an unresolved grudge or a great desire when they are alive. If Castor doesn’t have one, that means he died with no regret. You don’t have to blame yourself." Avyn said as she worried Tang Shaoyang might blame himself for what happened.
Everything happened suddenly, no one expected Mein would be that crazy to kill one of them. Tang Shaoyang was about to start the Spirit Summoning.
"Wait!" Vandir called out, stopping Tang Shaoyang at the last second. "Now I think about it. I don’t think it’s good to put Mein’s body into the sacrifice. We might summon him instead of your subordinate."
The thought behind putting Mein as a sacrifice was maybe because Mein was the target of Castor’s grudge. They thought it would increase the odds, but another possibility was that they also increased the odds of summoning Mein. With how Mein did things, it was clear that Mein had a deep hatred toward the administrator, and Mein might become a spirit as well.
Tang Shaoyang was glad that he stopped at the last moment. It made sense, and he immediately swapped Mein’s body from the sacrifice with the Hurakan Legion’s soldier. He directed his hand toward the sacrifice and activated the skill, [Spirit Summoning].
Again, Tang Shaoyang was focused on the notification rather than the phenomenon in front of him. Their calculation was spot on as he managed to summon Grade SS Spirit.
[You have summoned Grade SS Spirit, Underachiever - Castor!]
Tang Shaoyang clenched his fist, relieved and also happy for the first time to see that name. He didn’t have special feelings for Castor, but for some reason, he was relieved and happy to see the man who tried to kill him once. His tense shoulder slumped down, relieved from the stress.
[You don’t know that you might summon another Castor, not the one from the Justesen Family!] Zara was teasing him. He knew that she was teasing him because the title told him everything. An unimpressed title for a spirit, Underachiever. But for some reason, it made him tense as he was afraid that this might not be the Castor he wanted to summon.
The black smoke dispersed and revealed a confused figure. As a newbie spirit, Castor looked around in panic until he spotted Tang Shaoyang. His eyes widened in shock, not expecting to see the familiar face once more. A few seconds later, Castor rushed toward Tang Shaoyang with his hands open.
"BOSS!!!" Castor yelled out. He recognized the unique Dragon Transformation belonging to his captain.
No spirits stopped Castor because they knew that Castor would not attack Tang Shaoyang. Tang Shaoyang easily grabbed Castor’s head, stopping the man from hugging him, and rolled his eyes. "Stop wasting your time and let’s form the contract."
He lifted the man’s head to the same level as him because Castor was a meter shorter than him right now.
Castor was confused at first, then maybe Castor saw the contract notification. The guy did not read what it said and agreed with the contract. The former Admin Helper then turned into a dark orb and entered Tang Shaoyang’s forehead.
[WHOAH! Where am I?] Castor was confused and surprised at the same time as he appeared in the Spirit World.
Tang Shaoyang ignored his former subordinate and checked his Spirit Energy. He had almost thirteen million Spirit Energy. Should be more than enough to use [Spirit Resurrection] on Castor. If he was not wrong, it took him less than two million to resurrect Rosalie who was Grade SS Spirit at that time.
"But wait, wasn’t Rosalie merely Myth Rank back then? Does that mean…" Tang Shaoyang did not finish his words as he came to a realization. From what he knew, to be part of the Hurakan Legion, the soldier must be a God Rank. However, Rube was a Grade S Spirit even though he was a God Rank when he was alive.
Castor materialized before him, and the man was dazed as everything went too fast for him. He died, then he was offered to be a spirit. He accepted the offer and went to the void, but he did not stay that long in the void as he was summoned.
Then he formed a contract with the same master. Tang Shaoyang has been his master ever since he transformed into a calamity. Castor accepted that he had become a spirit, and then he was back alive. It was a short journey, but an impactful journey for him.
Tang Shaoyang flicked Castor’s forehead, very hard.
"OUCH!" Castor covered his forehead with his hand, looking at his captain begrudgingly. "What was that for, Cap?"
"Stop dazing around and get ready to make an escape unless you want to die again. Return to the team and tell them to get ready as well."
Castor furrowed his brow, but he immediately understood when he saw the corpses of the Hurakan Legion’s soldier corpses. Without a doubt, his captain went on a rampage because he was killed, and he was touched that his captain was willing to go this far for him. His captain was willing to fight the Hurakan Kingdom for him.
There were no words to express his feelings right now as he looked straight at Tang Shaoyang. "You will have my loyalty and also my life. I will help you eradicate the Nirvana Alliance and the God Order or even The Hurakan Legion. I will stay—"
"That’s enough. Go back with the others and wait for my order!" Tang Shaoyang pointed upward. He stored the remaining bodies in his inventory before leaping out of the hole. He was ready to fight the Hurakan Legion or even the Hurakan Kingdom. It was not over yet, there was still the Commander Edson and The Chief of Imperial Investigator.
