Awakened: SSS Ranked Soul king-Chapter 120: What’s behind the door
Thane had always been a significant talent in the Blacksteel family, a beloved son. Although his hope of taking over the mantle of lord was slim to none, he was a true contender because of his talent.
But most of all, because of the Blacksteel lord himself.
Yes, of all his successors, Thane was the blacksteel lords most dear. He showed talent similar to his when he was younger. An aptitude for swordmanship and a kind and straightforward nature. As such he took him everywhere.

That was how he became so famous in the first place, in the first few years of his life, he was the right hand of the Blacksteel lord (playfully)
On one of his many trips he had found scrunny Robin trying to defend himself against some bullies in the Aaron clan and helped him out. Although a bit skeptical at first robin came to realize that Thane was just a good person.
Before the Blacksteel lord left the Aaron household that week, Thane thought Robin how to defend himself, unknowingly creating a monsterous talent in the Aaron family.
"Business huh? So coy and savy. You dare call this business??!!" Vulcan grew incensed. This little shit head was ungrateful, after prying him from the grips of the Aaron's family political builying he was calling an assassination attempt of thane business?
"Calm down Vulcan, he was just following orders i presume"
Finally, after a long pause, Thanes voice sounded, the look on his face filled with a cold unfeeling glare.
The look on Thanes face set chills down his spine. Unlike Victoria, thane knew that the Aaron family were cowards, they wouldn't place themselves in the line of fire without being forced.
Dorn and his cronies had forced him to join them, so they would have to do the same to achieve maximum benefits.
"Robin, I won't beat around the bushes. This isn't a ceremonial visit, I either leave here with the entire Aaron family behind me. Or I'll settle for just you" thane spoke in a threatening tone.
But for some reason instead of feeling threatened Robin sighed.
This wasn't a threat
The help Thane had given him over the years from the shadows allowed for him to be in this position. And although it didn't mean he would betray his own family….it was still heavy on him and an obligation.
He had promised to repay Thane in his time of need, but only himself as an individual had agreeed to this so had to help not the Aaron.
"Don't be stupid kid, if you leave we lose the only person capped at Red in the entire clan" Carlson all of a sudden spoke inserting himself into the position.
Truth was that they didn't really have much of a choice, Robin had been roped into Thanes side from a very long time ago. But not having a choice was a matter of honor, if they still choose to not help, Thane could not do anything about it.
"Sigh" Robin sighed in disappointment, he didn't think thane would push this far. He had always been a kind and considerate person….was he so desperate? Well that was a stupid question to ask. They had tried to take his life after all.
"I don't have a choice senior Carlson, it's best I go and not drag the Aaron family into this struggle" Robin turned to the old man on his side with a hood over his face.
It was much better for him to be involved alone since it would completely absolve the Aaron's of this mess. Not only could they denounce his actions, without the help of someone capped at red, Dorn and his cronies wouldn't be so shameless as to ask them for help.
"You're still a bit naive Robin, what make you think we will be able to stay out of this trouble?" carlson asked a look of annoyance painted all over his face.
If things really got heated to that point, they would be forced to pick a side. No one wanted an armed bystander during a fight. It was just illogical as they could stab you in the back at any moment.
Even if they are clearly weaker. Why didn't Robin see this?
"I don't know…but I have to " Robin wished he could be shameless and throw away Thanes request, but this was not how he was raised. He honored his debts.
"You two stop bickering, there's no guarantee of war. I just want people on my side to deter that overzealous bastard Hunter. Once the person that conquers the castle arises there would be no reason for wn internal struggle" Thane smiled and spoke.
He didn't believe there were equip for an all out war with other powers of the slayer Army. What he really wanted to was stall for time so a leader would arise from beating the ravens lord challenge.
Unless it was hunter, after that everything would be more streamlined. With the overwhelming strength of the fog there would be no reason to fear him anymore.
"Ahh? Really?" Robin and Carlson looked at thane with skepticism. He still didn't want to fight? That sounded strange.
"Don't get me wrong, I want revenge. But only against Hunter, but if I do get it. I'll do so with my bare hands" Thane shook his head and explained.
If the Aaron family was to help them, it would only be a show, he didn't hope to drag them into a fight. And he was sure Dorn wouldn't want to exterminate 1/3 of the powerful forces in the city.
It was a good plan.
"Hmm, if that the case then…" Robin calmed down and took his seat feeling a rush of relief wash over him. He was really about to betray the Aaron family for Thane just now….
"Let's talk terms"
Meanwhile,
"Fucking!!" A silhouette barrel rolled on the floor, a green shield in his hand as he fluidly stood up and raised his guard up.
Infront of him was 9 foot tall body of amour with a giant Ax in his had and eyes brimming with red light.
"Golaith!!" Guilliman barked, calling forth a giant bear soul beast to rush forward and tackle the sentinel.
Golaith was by far his most strongest soul beast so far. His beasts could grow with him whenever he became stronger, but their genes would eventually decide how much growth they could absorb.
The swordfish apparitions had slowly wanned away in terms of usefulness since they couldn't help up with his evolution process. He could still use them to fight, but with the foes he was facing right now? Well they were of little used.
-roar!!!
The bear with white fur loomed over the sentinel as it pushed the big hulk of iron into the wall next to them.
"Hm!!, good job" Guilliman commented, activating the skill of his shoes and the mythic charm necklace.
In the next second, he essentially became a ghost. His body was unnoticeable and his sound was completely gone.
Before the sentinel could even notice him he was already behind it using the handle of his great ax to climb onto the shoulders of the sentinel, Guilliman struck down at a gap in its amour Causin it to suddenly fall apart in the middle of the ground .
[ding, you have slayer The hound, Sir Gligain]
[echo found: Warax of destruction]
As soon as Guillimans dagger Peirced the opening in the amour of the giant sentinel, he released a wave of energy completely eradicating it.
This thing was probably an extremely strong warrior in his past life, but against Guilliman, it was like a turtle hidding its soft body from a predetor.
"Hmm, I wonder if the ravens lord will be different" guilliman mused.
Climbing the castle had proven to be harder than he had previously throught. After fighting the red knight on the third floor, he had faced two extremely powerful monsterous sentinels forcing him to use his trump card Goliath each time.
He now only needed to clear the next floor before facing the ravens lord himself.
But could be realistically defeat that guy? Or would he really just receive and inheritance after reaching there. He had no idea and to find out was a much harder process that it looked.
"At least let me see what's on the next floor before taking a rest" Guilliman sighed walking forward.
The general consensus was that no one had passed the third floor, he knew it and everyone knew it. But deep down he didn't Believe that one bit.
Forget Victoria who could easily exterminate souls with that vicious flame of his. He had a feeling that Thane, Logan and Dorn were already at the 6th floor.
It was an irrational thought but was grounded in the fear that he had. The ravens lord clearly didn't want him anywhere close to him. He would most likely make the path easier for the others allowing them to pass through than himself.
"Anyway" opening the door to the next floor Guilliman froze
He then quickly closed the door feeling his heart race.
"What in the heavenly fuck was that?" He couldn't say anything else, he simply turned around and left voluntarily heading down the castle by himself.
This was the first time he had ever done that and it was simply because of the thing he saw beyond that door.
It was a four legged creature stuck in amour, it had two horns that curved up into a circle the shape of a moon.
It looked all too similar to that thing….the beast waning moon.
The soul of a great abomination?!!!
