Barbaric Spouse, Descry the Night's Lure-Chapter 257: Scene CCLVII
“... I despise the earth’s paths prepared for their ground’s leaders... yet I want my lung to earn happiness more than I despise such path... If you let her womb blossom again... if you allow Ewelina to have the offspring I deprived her of... and if she somehow allows me to be the one to grant such offspring to grow within her..... let my Fatædi live without facing these traditions... and I am to do anything your core desires. I’ll give my life, spirit and force in exchange for it.”
Tears, even as he attempted to harden his hurt feelings, fell from his amber as he stood strong requesting the core’s mercy, and one of the many, fell on the white of the ground he stood at... provoking the cascades under the waters to turmoil in resonance to the determination concealed in his deepest.
— Myrkzver... not every fate is in the earth to aid... Yet to my loved children, I do... that who you know as your lung, that who today you call Ewelina... has been the earth’s child for many... many days... This you ask... I will grant. —
As the tremble of the core’s voice announced, the Jazhara commenced pacing back to the edge of the lake, for more needed to be conveyed given the request.
— My wrath was born at the pain she was to face once again... An eternity she has led, one even herself is fully unaware of... To the eye I blessed upon one, I requested to let your being learn of the fragility of my child’s soul... such aid was unheard... Suffering fell upon my child once again... and your feet were demanded to come here. —
“... Were the dangers these nooks were facing born from this wrath?”
— ... A seed of mine, one dearest she is... None other compares to the last of many she is... knowledge of how to end this existence that harms her has yet to succeed in erasing my child’s being. —
“...”
— Your request... was the one the earth sought... —
As it understood the meanings of its sayings were discovered by the man’s being, the earth announced, now telling more about the conditions his wishes entailed.
— However, this request I cannot easily grant, young, wild and passionate Myrkzver... A return you must start once this exchange meets an end... and if not done as my core demands... no blessing will befall yourself nor my child... these nooks will cease to shelter any living soul forever since my seed allowed their existence... those I favoured suffered to the hands I created to lose their beings. —
A gentle earthquake commenced to make the tranquil waters jump at the Earth’s forces, the living creatures unified growls resonated fearful of its sentence... and the spouse observed... maintaining his stance, waiting for the conditions to be told.
— Your return will be guided by the Jazhara I placed to your side... the purest of mutants and familiar to your blood... Your amber will not allow light nor hunt... and your hand shall not lift against the attacks of the beasts that may come... Your trust solely is to rely on the beast’s guide... nothing besides following its dark lure are you to do... for every step you take will be a speck of my child’s suffering you will live... and her many days and nights will be learned by the lung you are..... Return to her without failing this pact, Aslak Myrkzver... and I swear by my dearest seeds that disappeared... that more than what you request I am to grant... —
“... Alright...” — As soon as the man agreed without hesitation, his sight commenced to darken as the core had declared. A deep endless night with which’s obscurity other senses heightened, giving the first step... where her first day as a soul was shown along the sensations of the past. — “No matter what, your word... I’ll trust it if my lung will smile... I’ll see the end of this pact being honoured even as I die.”
The Jazhara remaining away waited for the Archduke to reach it in his now blind state, coming to his side as no sense of direction his steps had. Wrapping lightly its tail over the man’s hand to commence its guide... back to the earth’s child.
— The earth will also trust your spirit... Myrkzver child... Reach my last gentle and naive one... give what creation keeps denying to grant. —
The soft tremors of the earth’s wishes implied a blessing upon the man... hoping the pact to be fulfilled by his devotion against the darkness of his path and the showcase of a soul’s eternity.
Every step transmitted the emotions she once felt... desperation, sadness, caution... innocence and joy... Aslak as if walking the lives she led, the eleven she was able to win awareness of her past... as well as those the soul could not accomplish to recall her history... Every speck was to be grasped by the man on this journey to earn his wish.
The hurtful times and those few that softened her heart. Looking physically different although with the same fur and eyes... all sharing a tad of the essence he so well appreciated.
— Mama... papa... hn... rie... —
Her first death... and every other... He experienced as if the woman herself.
Teardrops would fall as she had done when hurt and at times his walk following the beast that led his blind way would halt pained by rage his own spirit felt at the sadness of the wife’s soul.
— I said I loved you solely so you could please myself in the sheets. —
— Disgraceful you always were. Never a man would have taken you to build a family... Destiny knew this and your womb was made useless. —
“Kh! D-damn it...! Damn it!!” — Aslak too immersed in his own and the woman’s hurt, would harm his own flesh and make it bleed, furious by the humiliations she had to endure... Experiencing frustrating desperation to know how those men in a far past had touched his loved lung disgustingly selfish while sincerity was everything she offered. Being disposed of once used... at times with her life being finished by revolting hands...
