Chapter 91: Chapter 91: Reunion

Her sharp features made her look like she had stepped out of an ancient painting.

Luke’s eyes narrowed.

"...Elias Vaughn."

Elias smiled.

"You saved me once—"

"And I rewarded you with a Gu worm."

Luke’s eye twitched.

"Reward?"

"You mean when I almost died in the bathroom for half an hour?"

Elias chuckled softly, covering her mouth.

"Well, it was a test."

Luke crossed his arms.

"What kind of test?"

Elias’s eyes twinkled.

"If you survived the poison—"

"It meant you were worthy of seeing me again."

Luke let out a low laugh.

"That’s messed up."

Elias’s smile didn’t fade.

But then—

She pointed behind him.

"By the way—"

"Someone’s looking for you."

Luke turned his head.

His eyes widened.

Above the sky

A cluster of blazing flames was streaking toward him.

Within the fire, he could see figures.

Then, a furious voice erupted—

"LUKE!!"

"YOU DEAD MAN!!"

"DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG I’VE BEEN WAITING?!!"

With a fiery explosion, a flame-coated figure descended upon him.

And before he could react

THUD!

Luke found himself tackled to the ground, pinned by a very pissed-off Tanya Reed.

On her shoulders—

Three tiny wolf cubs with shiny fur and glowing eyes were biting at his clothes.

Biting him.

Hard.

Luke groaned.

"...Ow."

Tanya, still on top of him, wiped at her teary eyes, then slapped his chest.

"You IDIOT—"

"Do you have ANY idea how long I’ve been WAITING?!!"

Luke grinned.

"If I say I missed you, will you hit me less?"

Tanya glared.

Then—

She punched him in the gut.

Luke wheezed.

"...Ow."

"Hate you!"

Tanya Reed playfully pouted, pressing a slender, elegant finger against Luke’s chest.

Her expressive emerald eyes flickered with hidden emotions, but her lips curled slightly—almost teasingly.

If there was one thing Luke knew about Tanya, it was that she never said what she meant outright.

She was a tease, a royal beauty whose alluring presence had the power to entice even the most disciplined of men.

And Luke?

He was anything but disciplined.

His gaze wandered, tracing over her perfectly sculpted curves, wrapped in a form-fitting black cheongsam that hugged her body dangerously well.

With her long obsidian-black hair cascading down her back, and the natural grace of her movements, Tanya was every bit the femme fatale.

"Woohoo!"

"Woooo!"

The three wolf cubs howled in pure delight.

They had spent months without seeing their father, and now that he was here, they wasted no time in launching their fierce attack.

Within a single minute, Luke’s entire outfit had been riddled with bite holes.

One particularly overzealous cub latched onto his sleeve, shaking its tiny head wildly—as if trying to tear off a chunk of his clothes.

Luke sighed.

"Alright, alright, that’s enough. I know you missed me."

He grabbed the excited cubs, lifting them effortlessly.

The wolf cubs wagged their fluffy tails, their bright golden eyes shining with affection as they nuzzled against Luke’s face.

Tanya crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow.

"Still the same, I see."

She smirked.

"You’re better with wolves than you are with people."

Luke chuckled.

"Well, they don’t complain as much as people do."

He cast a side glance at Tanya, his smirk growing wider.

Tanya huffed, flipping her hair over her shoulder.

"Yeah? Well, at least I don’t chew holes in your clothes."

"...Yet."

Luke muttered under his breath.

Tanya’s cheeks turned rosy, but she quickly changed the topic.

Luke turned to glance behind him—

And realized Elias Vaughn was gone.

That woman...

She was like a phantom, appearing and disappearing at will.

He shook his head.

"You didn’t answer my question."

Luke turned back to Tanya.

"How did you know I was here?"

Tanya crossed her arms, raising a brow.

"You didn’t even tell me you were coming to Arcadia."

She tilted her head, pouting.

"How do you think I found out?"

Luke gave her a half-smile.

"I was chasing the big guy—"

She motioned towards the Totem Serpent’s former position.

"But when I got here, the big guy was gone, and I found you instead."

She gave him a pointed look.

"Do you know how mad I was when I realized you didn’t even tell me you were coming?"

Luke chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Come on, I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it."

Tanya rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, sure. Luke the Lone Wolf, always sneaking around."

She huffed, looking away.

But there was a small smile playing at her lips.

Luke took a step closer.

"Well... you found me."

Tanya glanced back, their eyes meeting.

And for a moment—

It felt like time stopped.

"You probably haven’t eaten yet, right?"

Tanya grabbed his arm.

"Come on, let’s go—"

"I’ll take you to Arcadia’s best food spot!"

Luke paused mid-step.

Then, he narrowed his eyes at her.

"Arcadia has good food?"

Tanya instantly froze.

She opened her mouth—

Then closed it.

Luke crossed his arms.

"Right."

"I thought so."

In Luke’s memory, Arcadia’s cuisine was...

Fish.

And not just any fish.

The worst kind of fish.

It was bland, soft, and watery—as if the fish itself had given up on life.

Tanya’s face darkened.

"Hmph!"

"Fine! Forget the local food."

She pulled him closer.

"We’ll go eat seafood instead."

After having a luxurious seafood feast with Tanya and the three wolf cubs, they finally parted ways.

Tanya had work to do at the Arcadia Trial Council.

The Totem Serpent’s sudden appearance had caused a major uproar, and she needed to manage the aftermath.

But at least—

The Serpent wasn’t molting this time, meaning Victor Hale couldn’t touch it even if he wanted to.

Before leaving, Luke took one of the three wolf cubs

The Skywing Wolf cub.

This was Zoe Miller’s child—a young wolf with two tiny wings on its back.

The cub was still too young to fly properly.

Most of the time, it simply slept.

This was normal for demonic beasts.
