Becoming a God Starts with Acting-Chapter 351: The Egg Hatches
Silvanus sniffled for a while, then carried the egg into the bathroom. Even as he washed up, he didn’t forget to keep channeling light into it.
Whatever. If that stupid egg still didn’t move by tomorrow, he’d just bury it.
Or he should find a chicken to hatch it instead.
However, given the size of this thing, it makes more sense to get an ostrich to sit on it.
Even as he drifted off to sleep, Silvanus couldn’t stop thinking. He held the egg tightly in his arms, brows furrowed, his sleep restless.
He woke up because of the heat.
In his dream, it felt like he was holding two burning coals—the scorching pain made him jolt awake and instinctively fling whatever was in his hands away.
It took his mind a moment to catch up. When he saw the egg hovering midair, Silvanus’s eyes widened, and he dove forward at lightning speed, catching it before it hit the floor and rolling across the ground with it.
"Ah—hot! Hot! Hot!"
It was like holding a freshly baked potato. He tossed it from hand to hand until he finally threw it onto the bed.
What the hell was happening?!
Just earlier that evening, the egg had been cold as ice—why was it suddenly burning hot now?
Had he poured too much light into it and accidentally cooked it?
Dead and boiled—what an unlucky egg.
A pang of guilt struck him, right up until he noticed the bedsheet starting to scorch black under the egg’s heat.
Silvanus snapped his fingers instantly. A gust of wind swirled around the egg, lifting it into the air.
At that moment, the shell began to crack apart, piece by piece, with a rapid crack-crack-crack echoing through the room. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Silvanus stared wide-eyed as the eggshell split open, fragments floating midair, panic creeping up his voice.
"I didn’t mean to! I swear I wasn’t trying to eat you—what’s happening—"
Before he could finish, a blinding silver light burst from within the egg, forcing him to squeeze his eyes shut.
The brilliance filled the entire room, swallowing every shadow, leaving nothing but pure white radiance.
Then, in a single instant, a high-pitched sound reverberated through the air, making the whole room tremble.
Silvanus covered his ears and forced his eyes open—only to see the light gathering, twisting around the egg’s core. It swirled, shimmered, and finally took form—
—a large, silver tail.
The tail moved, revealing the creature’s whole body beneath it.
It was... a fox!
With ears larger than its head and a tail almost three times the size of its body, its smooth, silvery fur gleamed under the light, soft and radiant, like moonlight brought to life.
The light gradually dimmed, and at that moment, the creature suddenly opened its eyes.
Silvanus found himself staring straight into a pair of deep blue eyes—so clear and vast they seemed to hold the ocean itself.
Then, as if that brilliance had been cast away, only a serene pool of water remained within them.
The little fox blinked, made a strange chirping sound, and then collapsed onto the floor!
Silvanus hurriedly reached out with both hands to catch it. Its body was incredibly soft—mostly just fur.
The tiny fox curled up in his palms, let out a cheerful little cry, then tilted its head and blinked its round eyes at him. Its ears twitched slightly, its mouth curved as if smiling, and when it stepped on Silvanus’s palms with its front paws, faint specks of light shimmered between them.
Silvanus stared blankly for a second, lips slightly parted—then suddenly burst out in excitement, clutching the fox tightly to his chest.
"So cute!"
The little fox’s eyes widened, clearly not expecting that kind of reaction.
Meanwhile, Silvanus was utterly overwhelmed with joy—his egg hadn’t just survived, it had hatched into an adorable, fluffy creature! As unbelievable as it seemed, he didn’t care.
He lifted the little fox high into the air, then brought it down and showered it with kisses—on its face, its ears, even its soft, furry belly.
The small fox squealed happily, nuzzling its tiny head against Silvanus’s cheek. Silvanus’s eyes widened in delight, one hand pressing against his chest as he felt his heart melting.
Awwww—it’s too cute!
"What are you, huh? Can you understand me? You’re so adorable! From now on, I’m going to raise you!"
The fox yipped back excitedly, opening its mouth to make a sound. Seeing that joyful little face, Silvanus couldn’t resist and reached out to rub its ears with both hands.
The fox shook its head furiously, its big ears flapping like a fan ready to take off, making Silvanus laugh so hard he could barely breathe.
Who would’ve thought that just yesterday he’d been complaining about how ugly the egg was?
"You’re definitely a beast!"
Silvanus flopped back onto the bed, too exhilarated to even feel sleepy anymore.
Holding the little fox up with both hands, he grinned and declared, "I’m going to raise you until you’re huge—and then you’ll be my mount!"
It was hard to tell whether the little fox understood what Silvanus was saying, but it let out two soft cries, its smiling face fixed intently on him as if in response.
Adorable!
Silvanus couldn’t help himself—he rubbed the little fox like crazy, burying his face in its fluffy tail.
Oh heavens, what kind of scent was this? Silvanus didn’t care if he inhaled a few stray hairs; he just couldn’t get enough of it.
"From today on, your name will be Vivian! How’s that? I may not know many words, but my naming skills are top-notch!"
Vivian yipped again, as if agreeing enthusiastically.
Mumbling to himself, Silvanus finally drifted off to sleep near dawn. Vivian curled into a ball, nestling closer against his chest, its tiny head nuzzling gently against him.
The next morning brought another problem—Vivian refused to leave his side. Several times, Silvanus nearly tripped over it.
He scolded, "Don’t walk in front of me! With that tiny body of yours, one wrong step from me and you’ll be squashed flat!"
Vivian didn’t seem to care. Suddenly, all four paws pounced onto Silvanus’s pants, and it began to climb.
Silvanus gaped, jumping up in alarm. "Hey—this is my uniform! Get your dirty paws off!"
But by the time he said it, Vivian had already reached his shoulder, rubbing its little head affectionately against his chin.
Silvanus froze for a moment, then sighed helplessly, saying nothing more.
Truly, there’s a difference between being furry and being bald.
If this were the egg version of Vivian, Silvanus would’ve just said, "Things that aren’t cute shouldn’t try to act cute."
But as a fox? Of course, it was adorable! And when something adorable acted cute—it only became even cuter!
Either way, Silvanus decided he could endure it. He looked at the four muddy paw prints scattered across his clothes and thought wryly to himself.
In the end, he scooped Vivian up and said, "Don’t run off anywhere, got it?"
He planned to bring Vivian to the headmaster to ask whether it really was a beast.
Besides, he had no idea how to take care of such a creature—he should at least ask someone experienced!
Vivian nestled inside Silvanus’s outer coat, with only its tiny head poking out. The fur beneath its neck was pressed flat under the fabric, its two ears twitching as it let out a soft, obedient sound, as though replying to him.
