Becoming a God Starts with Acting-Chapter 421: The Strange Nick
Silvanus had just descended from the sky when he saw Nick’s group staring at him with eyes sparkling brightly.
In the next moment, they all simultaneously performed a kneeling salute in midair, hands rising and falling as they kowtowed, speaking in unison, "Thank you, Lord Silvanus!"
Silvanus still had no idea how the rumors about him had evolved inside other people’s heads. He lifted his chin and laughed loudly. "Ha ha ha. Although I know everyone admires my abilities, temperament, strength, and dazzling aura, there’s really no need to be this formal. Come on, everyone, get up."
Ariana, standing off to the side, was completely speechless. It was here again, Silvanus’s "condition." Under normal circumstances, the people in front of him would definitely be looking at Silvanus with eyes full of suspicion and dislike. Unfortunately, this time it was Nick.
Almost the moment Silvanus finished speaking, Nick pounced forward, his eyes shining even brighter. "I’ve heard of you for a long time. Now that I see you in person, you truly are the best of the best! Please let you be our Big Bro!"
The others nodded repeatedly. "That’s right, that’s right! Our Big Bro is the strongest. Just thinking about it makes us excited!"
Nick raised his voice, emphasizing the solemnity of the matter. "I am willing to offer up this position to you! Please accept it, Silvanus!"
Silvanus looked at Nick and felt that his eyes really did resemble Matthew’s when he was young. Every time Silvanus chased away a dog trying to snatch food from them, or brought back a "big meal," Matthew would look at him just like this.
Back then, Silvanus would act disgusted, but deep down he was incomparably pleased, his chin practically lifted to the heavens. Perhaps that was the most fundamental reason he wanted to protect everyone. He did not deny that he longed to be praised and loved.
Silvanus looked at Nick and shook his head. "No. The danger has been resolved. You should all continue with your mission."
With that, Silvanus turned to leave. But just at that moment, his arm was suddenly tugged back slightly. Nick directly slung an arm around his shoulders and said, "The mission isn’t important anymore, Big Bro. Whatever your mission is, we’ll help you!"
Nick’s underlings could not help exchanging glances with one another, though they were not particularly surprised. Nick was fanatically obsessed with the strong, and at this moment, Silvanus was probably the very embodiment of strength in Nick’s eyes.
"No need." But before Silvanus could speak, another voice rang out.
Everyone looked over, only to see the young man with a gentle face and a warm smile gazing at them as he said with a smile, "Silvanus already has me and Ariana."
Ariana sensed Matthew’s attitude and nodded frantically. "That’s right, that’s right."
As she spoke, she quickly stepped forward, hugged Silvanus’s arm, and dragged him toward them. "Silvanus, let’s go. This place is really dangerous. I want to go home as soon as possible."
Matthew could not help glancing at Ariana, feeling that perhaps there was no need to deal with her so soon.
Silvanus looked at Nick and said, "We’re going to pick Rainbow Petal Daisy. Goodbye. You should also complete your mission. Otherwise, the Hunter Association might reconsider your qualifications for accepting future missions."
Matthew thought they had finally shaken off this troublesome group, but to his surprise, Nick said joyfully, "What a coincidence. We’re looking for Dragon Grass too!"
This type of grass usually grew near areas where Rainbow Petal Daisy could be found.
Nick raised his voice. "It feels like fate is arranging for us to be together! Let’s go, Silvanus!"
Silvanus had not expected such a coincidence either. Since their missions did not conflict, he nodded and said, "Let’s go."
At the thought of traveling together with a powerhouse like Silvanus, Nick’s underlings could not help cheering.
Ariana could not help secretly looking at Matthew, only to see him lowering his gaze, his mood clearly not good.
She had never been able to see through Matthew’s true thoughts. She only felt fear.
At this moment, Nick had already latched onto Silvanus, talking nonstop.
It was truly astonishing. Nick was just an ordinary civilian and had not even attended any formal schooling, yet he had still grown to this point and even become a Hunter.
Ariana also felt that Nick was lying. "If you don’t read books, how do you know all kinds of spells?!" From what she had seen earlier, Nick did not seem weak at all.
Nick patted his chest and lifted his chin. "I’m special."
After saying that, he looked at Silvanus again. "But Silvanus is definitely the most special!"
Ariana felt that Nick’s manner right now was somewhat familiar...
Instinctively, she looked toward Matthew beside her.
What a coincidence, Nick also had brown hair and brown eyes. The only difference was that he had no freckles on his face, and he was very lively, unlike Matthew, who was quiet and reserved.
Ariana felt that it would be best if Nick were stronger than that unfortunate captain.
But that was clearly impossible.
In any case, by the end of the day, they finally reached the edge of the forest and saw an area where the trees were sparser and sunlight could filter through. At the very least, they had found a place to rest.
Two campfires were lit.
The five members of Nick’s team gathered on one side chatting, with only Nick still buzzing nonstop around Silvanus.
At this point, even Silvanus could not help feeling a bit impressed by Nick.
He glanced over and asked from the bottom of his heart, "Aren’t you thirsty?"
Nick immediately grabbed a water flask nearby and took a big gulp, replying loudly, "No!"
Only then did he tactfully stop talking, though he still stared at Silvanus with those sparkling eyes.
Silvanus glanced at the water flask in Nick’s hand. Nick immediately panicked. "What is it? Is this your water? I’m really sorry! I’ll go refill it for you right away!"
Silvanus suddenly lifted his hand, and Nick’s entire body was instantly sent flying into the air. Nick turned back to look at Silvanus in a daze, his eyes flickering with light. "That’s so cool!"
Silvanus: "..."
With a flick of his fingers, the water flask immediately returned to his hand, and Nick was also "tossed" back toward his own team.
Silvanus threw the water flask to Matthew.
Matthew caught it at once and said softly, "Thanks."
Silvanus looked at him for a moment, puzzled. "Nick didn’t know. Don’t be angry."
Matthew shook his head. "How could I be angry..."
Silvanus looked at Matthew and said nothing more.
At this moment, the "roast chicken" on their fire had begun to release its fragrance.
Though it was called chicken, it was actually a type of chicken-like beast. An ordinary person would be full just by eating one leg.
Now, the sound of fat dripping onto the coals crackled and hissed. The golden-brown body of the bird glistened beautifully, waves of rich aroma rising into the air.
Vivian hopped about on the grass, overjoyed, her eyes fixed eagerly on the giant chicken over the fire, drool practically spilling out.
Silvanus could not help picking her up, wiping the saliva from her mouth as he laughed. "People are going to think I’ve been starving you."
Vivian wagged her tail and nuzzled Silvanus’s palm in a coquettish manner.
Silvanus then took out a small knife and cut off both thighs, handing one to Matthew and the other to Ariana.
Next came the wings.
At that moment, a face suddenly leaned in close. Nick grinned ingratiatingly. "Big Bro, what are you eating? It smells soooo good."
As he spoke, he exaggeratedly swallowed. Over on his side, all he could do was gnaw on dry rations. He was practically being tortured to death by the aroma of that chicken.
Silvanus looked at Nick’s head bobbing in front of him and could not help finding it a little amusing.
He cut off one wing and handed it to Vivian.
Nick’s gaze followed it, and he comforted himself by chewing on the dry ration in his hand.
But in the next instant, the other wing suddenly appeared in front of him.
