Becoming a God Starts with Acting-Chapter 433: Nick
Silvanus fled at the fastest speed he could manage, hiding within the darkness. As long as the light did not shine on him, it was extremely difficult to find he.
Because additional manpower had been diverted to hunt he down, the number of guards stationed at certain locations on the other side was steadily decreasing.
Silvanus knew this was his chance.
At that very moment, a sound like glass being crushed underfoot suddenly rang out beneath Silvanus's feet.
He could not help but halt, only to see a massive beam of light suddenly erupt where Silvanus was standing. An enormous magic circle appeared, and he was right at its center.
Not good...
Immediately after, the surrounding magic circles also lit up at the same time, twisting and writhing like living creatures. Those who were tracking him had already noticed Silvanus's presence.
"Over there, catch him!"
They roared. Silvanus knew there was no way to keep hiding. Since he had been exposed, then it was time to fight.
He raised his hand without the slightest hesitation. In an instant, a jet-black scythe appeared in his grasp.
He swung it, slashing out a ring of darkness that spread outward at once, cutting through the group rushing toward him.
The leader of this squad was Elder Walther. Whether by coincidence or not, he was currently pursuing Silvanus relentlessly.
His voice seemed to sound right beside Silvanus's ear. "Turn back while you still can, Silvanus. Perhaps this is only a curse. You need to return if you want to have a future."
A future? A future of being eaten alive? Just as a human should not set foot in the Land of Darkness, an Undead should not step into the Land of Light.
Silvanus suddenly stopped. Walther was slightly startled, seemingly not expecting his words to have touched Silvanus's heart.
However, he did not slow down in the slightest. Lightning began to gather in the palm of his hand.
But Silvanus was even faster.
He twisted his body and slashed out. In the next instant, a crescent-shaped arc shot straight toward Walther. The farther it flew, the larger it became. Facing the surging power rushing at him, Walther could only hastily form a shield. The impact forced him backward, his feet dragging a trail of dust.
Silvanus clutched his chest, staggering as he ran forward, before quickly transforming into a wisp of black mist.
Waves of light arrows appeared from behind. Silvanus had no choice but to dodge in haste, yet the rain of arrows grew denser and denser, leaving no gaps at all. In the end, Silvanus was still shot down.
His body reappeared.
Seeing this, the crowd could not help but burst into cheers.
But immediately after, a white figure suddenly shot out from Silvanus's cloak. The moment she hit the ground, Vivian's body rapidly expanded to an enormous size. She let out a thunderous roar, and her massive tail swept out violently, instantly knocking the rain of arrows flying back the way they came, counterattacking those in pursuit.
Light could not harm she.
Someone could not help but roar, "Why would a creature of light like that follow Silvanus?"
If not Silvanus, then should she follow you hypocrites instead? Vivian thought silently. She opened her mouth and let out an even louder roar, almost forming a raging gale, its oppressive force slowing the pursuers' steps.
Only then did Vivian turn around and rush after Silvanus.
At that very moment, an abnormal flicker of light suddenly burst forth. The crackling of electricity made one's whole body go numb. Walther suddenly lunged forward at an unimaginable speed, lightning instantly condensing into a massive spear that shot straight toward Vivian.
Walther was simply too fast, especially when using his ultimate technique. Even though Vivian had noticed the attack, she had no chance to escape at all.
"Crack crack sizzle!"
Arcs of electricity scorched through the air, even hotter than flames.
Vivian's body convulsed before she collapsed. Her fur was not charred black, yet smoke still rose from it, and her body quickly shrank down.
Silvanus hurriedly caught Vivian and continued running forward without stopping.
Dark spheres gathered around he, then suddenly shot backward, erupting into successive explosions that shook the ground and left the pursuers unable to find a way through.
But to Walther, these tricks were nothing more than a sideshow. He cut straight through the darkness, his speed not slowing in the slightest, clearly determined to capture Silvanus today no matter what.
Comparing the speed of both sides, it did not take long before Silvanus was caught up to.
A glint flashed in Walther's eyes.
Yet in the very next instant, crimson flames suddenly erupted. A wall of fire more than five meters tall instantly engulfed Walther within.
The newcomer was also wearing the uniform of the pursuers. His brown hair and eyes seemed to be dyed a shade of fiery red in the glow of the flames.
Nick raised his hand, and another blazing fireball came crashing down.
After restraining Walther, he quickly took to the air, grabbed hold of Silvanus, and dragged him away at the fastest speed possible.
Noticing Silvanus's skeletal body, he could not help but speak anxiously, words tumbling out nonstop. "Did I pull your arm too hard? Did I dislocate your bones? That day I did not even have time to do anything. I'm sorry I couldn't help you, Silvanus. Where do you want to go?"
Silvanus looked at the brown hair fluttering before his eyes, like overlapping mirages. Or perhaps it was because his soul had grown too weak, leaving him unable to clearly distinguish reality from illusion.
"Chaosland."
He answered briefly.
Hearing Silvanus's hoarse, throat-scraping voice, Nick felt a sharp pang in his heart.
Silvanus should have been the protagonist, the hero praised by all. Why had he fallen into such a situation?
Nick quickly said, "Silvanus, hang in there. Maybe this is just a chance for you to explore this world. One day you will reclaim your glory. You will shine again, take revenge on those who once hunted you down, reestablish the order of the world, and ascend to the highest peak of glory!"
Nick kept talking without pause, as if he never knew fatigue. If Silvanus had not understood Nick's strange words before, now that he had recovered all his memories, he understood.
Nick saw he as if he were the protagonist of a novel, holding a belief that no matter how deep a mire he fell into, he would still be able to shine.
Silvanus did not even believe in himself that much.
He wanted to ask Nick where he came from, whether Nick had once seen him in some story written on the pages of a book.
But at that moment, he was suddenly thrown forward. They had reached the edge of Chaosland.
Silvanus was startled and forced out the words, "Come with me, Nick."
Nick shook his head hard. "No. I'll hold them back." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Seeing Silvanus still standing there, he suddenly laughed. "Where I came from, I was nothing, Silvanus. When I arrived in this world, I thought that one day I would surely be able to shine, to reset all order. But this world is harsher than I imagined. I'm not enough to be the protagonist. So Silvanus, no matter what, you must shine. Consider it shining for me as well. If history records this, at least my name will appear beside yours as the one who saved you in a moment of danger. Just thinking about it already makes me excited!"
As he spoke, his eyes glittered brightly.
Vivian jumped straight onto Silvanus's head and said loudly, "That's right! This world will be rewritten by Silvanus! Nick, you really are Silvanus's son!"
Nick: "..."
Silvanus: "..."
Not even a touching moment between them could be completed properly.
"Boom!"
A violent tremor suddenly erupted. In the blink of an eye, the ground shook repeatedly, and pillars of lightning pierced the sky.
Nick did not hesitate at all, charging forward with near-suicidal resolve.
Columns of blazing red fire burst forth, coiling together into a colossal fire dragon that opened its jaws and spewed torrents of searing flames!
In an instant, the two sides collided. Chaotic flames and waves of lightning formed a violently flickering light, and the silhouettes of everything were swallowed by that blinding radiance.
Nick spat out a mouthful of fresh blood. Watching as his flames were rapidly pressed down by streaks of lightning, he felt that he could still hold on a little longer.
But at that moment, his hand was suddenly yanked back.
Silvanus raised his hand. A massive sphere of darkness abruptly appeared, instantly engulfing everything in thick, chaotic shadows. Each explosion was smothered by the dense darkness.
No one had expected that Silvanus would still have enough energy left to unleash such an attack. The darkness rapidly swallowed and corroded everything, and it seemed as though desperate screams could be heard as flesh melted away.
Darkness? Silvanus no longer cared. He wanted to live, and he did not want those by his side to die either...
