Being Op With My Broken System: All Limits Have Errors-Chapter 297: Final assessment of first year
Balon City.
The commercial district was at its busiest around this period because it was the last month of the year, and the start of a new year was always filled with Magic Academies taking in new students and a massive wave of kids awakening as mages.
Everyone in Balon City was preparing for this as well as the New Year celebration.
In a part of Balon City, the Zoran family had acquired quite a number of shops where they sold magic items. Some of these shops were operated by workers while the family ran a few of them personally.
While waiting for Mr Chen to return and fix her broken soul sea, Emily spent her time helping out at the shop. She normally stayed in a shop with Alicia and they attended to customers together.
On this calm morning, Alicia was sitting behind the counter and looking at a book with images of different magic beasts when two people walked into the shop.
Emily was currently arranging some items back in the storage so Alicia was left to attend to these new customers. She lowered her book and raised her gaze, about to welcome them.
But her eyes narrowed the moment she laid eyes on these two.
Their shabby dressing and malicious expressions showed that they were definitely not here to purchase anything.
’Expert rank mages? How bold.’ Alicia thought in annoyance after checking the strength of these two, they were too weak for her to even notice on regular days.
"Welcome, what would you like to buy?" Alicia still stood up and welcomed them.
The duo walked into the shop, and one of them went toward a shelf where mana cores were kept while the second one came to the counter.
The man was well taller than Alicia so he had to bend his body as he gazed down at her, probably trying to intimidate her.
"Hehe. Little girl, how about you come with these two uncles quietly? You see, we are mages and my brother over there has quite the temper. He might destroy everything in here and even hurt you if you don’t obey." The man said with a dark smirk.
His eyes changed colours as mana rose from his body and fell on Alicia, proving his claim as a mage.
Alicia didn’t reply immediately; her eyes swept to the side and looked at the other person, who was currently collecting mana cores and storing them away.
"Okay, I’ll listen to you." She said with a sigh.
"Splendid, hehehe." The eyes of the man in front of the counter flickered with a sharp glint and he turned to look at his companion.
"That’s enough, let’s go before the patrolling team of the Union gets here," he said.
"Ugh, get lost." Cursed the man who was stealing the mana cores but he still stopped and retreated to the counter.
Alicia came out from behind the counter but before leaving with them, she opened her mouth and said.
"Emily, I’m going out for a bit!"
"Mm, don’t take too long." Emily’s voice came from inside the shop.
Alicia then turned to the two men and said she was ready. Both men looked at her with wide smirks on their faces, pleased with her obedience; this was the easiest kidnapping they had had in a long time.
"Should we take the other girl too?" One of them asked.
"No need, one at a time."
Alicia raised an eyebrow as she left the shop with the two men.
’One at a time, so they plan to kidnap Emily next?’
.....
"Are you sure that they were not sent by the Dark Union?" Alex mumbled into his phone while standing in the middle of nowhere.
He was out farming exp as usual when he received a call from Alicia who reported the latest event to him.
Apparently, a group of rogue mages had kidnapped Alicia and wanted to request ransom from the Zoran couple. They planned to kidnap Emily next to maximise profit, but they would never have imagined that the gentle-looking Alicia would be so powerful.
Alicia had wiped out the entire organisation of rogue mages. She had done this after interrogating the ones who kidnapped her and then looking for their main base and finishing up the others.
The Dark Union was not the only organisation of rogue mages in the seven continents, there were hundreds of other evil groups that were still giving the Union a headache; they just weren’t as disgusting as the Dark Union.
The group that had kidnapped Alicia was a group specialised in kidnapping and requesting ransoms from the families of their victims. They mostly targeted families that recently got wealthy and didn’t have strong connections yet.
The Zoran couple was their target this time considering how fast the family’s wealth had grown over the last few months. Unfortunately for them, the family wasn’t as simple as they had imagined.
Alicia had silently killed off everyone, helping the Union get rid of a troublesome group in the process.
"It’s fine since they weren’t part of the Dark Union, you did well. Keep watching over everyone until I get back." Alex commended before ending the call.
He was slightly relieved that the kidnapping wasn’t the doing of the Dark Union, he thought that the instructor had suspected him and wanted to use his family to threaten him.
He would have had no other choice but to kill the other party and that would have ruined his plans a bit.
Since everything had now been taken care of, Alex went back to farming exp points.

He currently had over five hundred thousand exp points and should allow him craft a Saint rank spell but Alex had already decided to wait until he had a million exp points.
The more exp points used in crafting, the stronger the spell would be.
’I wonder how strong the spell will be if I use two million exp points, or even ten million,’ Alex thought to himself, letting his imagination run wild.
Time passed quickly, and it was soon time for the assessment at Brandvel Magic University, their final assessment as first-year students!
Today, everyone had gathered in the orientation hall as the details of this assessment were finally going to be revealed to them.
Alex and Eric had arrived early, allowing them to get front row seats. Roseline Dorman, the student who had been coming in second place behind Alex during the last two assessments, sat not too far away from the duo.
Alex could literally feel the girl’s hard gaze on his cheek but pretended not to notice her.
He was aware that the girl had been trying to get in contact with him since the first assessment, where he had surpassed her by a few points, and even went so far as to ask Eric to take her to Alex’s place.
Alex didn’t know why, and honestly, he didn’t want to know. He felt unwilling to interact with Roseline, so he was going to keep ignoring her.
At this moment, a figure appeared on the platform in front of the students.
"Silence!"
