Betrayed by Fiance, Embraced by Hidden Tycoon-Chapter 93: Surprised To Meet Him
Chapter 93: Surprised To Meet Him
"Sir, I thought you knew Miss Abigail was going somewhere?" Brody replied, raising his eyebrows slightly in shock.
"What do you mean, Brody?" Sawyer asked, puzzled.
Brody quickly explained, "I just saw Miss Abigail leave the house, sir."
Sawyer was stunned. He hadn’t heard from Abigail about her early work schedule for today. ’Did something happen at the café?’ he wondered curiously.
"And why are you still there!? Why didn’t you drop her off at the café?" Sawyer asked, clearly displeased to learn that Brody had let Abigail walk to her workplace.
Brody quickly clarified that Abigail wasn’t headed to the café but to another place. He also mentioned Abigail’s suspicions about him, which led her to ask him to stop offering her rides.
"Sir, I’m sorry, but you’ll have to find someone else to give her a ride to her café. I can’t do it anymore because she thinks I have a crush on her..." Brody expressed his concern helplessly.
Sawyer found Brody’s words amusing. Although he regretted that Brody could no longer drive Abigail to work, he was pleased to hear that she didn’t want attention from other men out of fear that it would make him jealous. He felt fortunate to have such an understanding partner.
"I will take care of it. You can return to your work," Sawyer said before ending the call.
However, instead of returning to the few people behind him who were still waiting for him to continue the sudden meeting, Sawyer remained by the glass wall overlooking the city, lost in thought about Abigail.
Sawyer was concerned about Abigail’s safety. Although the area where they lived was generally safe, he worried about her walking ten minutes to the café, especially since she had to do so alone at night.
Being in another country made the situation even more troubling for him, as no one was available to drive her home.
Taking a deep breath, Sawyer put his cell phone in his pocket. However, he paused just as he was about to return to the sitting area to join the others.
’Why did she leave the house three hours before her shift? Who was she planning to meet? Why didn’t she tell me about it?’ These thoughts raced through his mind as he glanced at his watch, a frown creasing his forehead.
Sawyer pulled out his phone again, texted her, and then returned to continue his meeting.
He decided to speed up his work in this country and return to her.

While at Solhaven City.
Abigail stood before a three-story building with "Tatami House & Kitchen" written above the door.
This was Abigail’s third appointment with Andy Bennet, and surprisingly, they had always met at a Japanese restaurant.
’How did he know I like Japanese food? Or is this just a coincidence?’ Abigail wondered.
However, she quickly dismissed those thoughts because she would not meet with Andy Bennet today but with his secretary, Amelia Walker. freēnovelkiss.com
After she informed the restaurant staff about her appointment with Amelia Walker, they promptly escorted her to the top floor using the elevator.
...
Soon after, the staff opened the door to the VIP room for Abigail. She was shocked to see a man sitting inside instead of Amelia Walker.
’Why is he here?’ Abigail wondered, confused. She remembered Amelia saying he had an event abroad and wouldn’t attend this meeting.
"Abigail? Why do you look surprised to see me?" Andy Bennet’s smile widened as he stood from his seat and gestured for Abigail to enter the room.
He was so happy to meet her again after their last meeting a few days ago. Knowing that she was no longer engaged with Ryland Woods relaxed him.
Abigail snapped out of her confusion, walked in, and accepted his warm handshake.
"Mr. Bennet, I’m so sorry. I was surprised to see you here. I thought it was Amelia who would meet me today," Abigail said with an awkward smile as she sat in the chair Andy had just pulled up for her.
"Thank you, sir..."
Andy Bennet didn’t respond verbally; he only smiled and returned to his seat across from her.
"You’re right, Abigail. Amelia should have attended, but my meeting in another country was canceled, so I came to see you as planned. You don’t mind meeting with me, do you?" Andy Bennet asked, raising his eyebrows slightly as he noted the nervousness in her gaze.
Abigail silently swallowed and shook her head in response. "Of course not, sir. It’s better to meet you in person so I can explain directly if there are any technical questions about the design I sent you two days ago."
"That’s perfect, then..." Andy Bennet smiled back at her. "But, Abigail, before we start discussing work, I need you to do something for me." His gaze was no longer playful; a hint of seriousness flashed in his eyes.
Although she was confused by his words, Abigail nodded, curious about why he seemed more serious now.
"Abigail, can we drop the formality?" Andy Bennet asked.
"Sir, what do you mean?" Abigail felt even more confused. What formality? She was trying her best to be casual while talking to him.
"Can you call me by my casual name, just like I did when you entered this room, Abigail?" Andy Bennet expressed what he had wanted to say since their first meeting. He felt it was strange to hear her addressing him by his last name.
Abigail felt relieved to hear Andy’s words; she had expected his request to be more unusual.
"It’s fine if you call me by my name, sir. However, I find it difficult to address you casually. You are a well-respected and powerful person in this country—"
"Abigail, please..." Her sentence abruptly halted as she noticed him raise his hand to stop her. He continued, "The person you see is just Andy, not Andy Bennet, as you would call me. So, there’s no need to overthink it. Can you consider us friends? What do you think?" he casually asked before sipping his warm drink, his gaze still fixed on her.
"Okay, sir... Andy..." Abigail replied softly.
