Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 240 - 228: Nine Hundred and Ninety-Nine Roses (Second Update)
"Qingqing, listen to me. I brought you out because I want to make you famous. This script is really good. Please take a look, I’m begging you." The effeminate man clasped his hands together and kept bowing to her.
The cold beauty raised an eyebrow slightly. "I’m here in Xiawu to promote the new drama. Once the event is over, I’m leaving."
"You little brat! You’re going to drive me crazy!"
Yi Luowa saw the effeminate man dramatically raising his orchid-like fingers and immediately collapsed into Connie’s arms laughing.
Both the effeminate man and Qingqing glanced over curiously, following the sound of laughter.
"OMG!" The effeminate man exclaimed in amazement while walking over. "Ladies, I’m Yan Difei from Di Fei Studio. You both have incredible potential to become superstars. Would you like to join my company? I promise to make you famous."
"Get lost!" Tong Airui came over holding two glasses of juice. Seeing an irritating man trying to sweet-talk Yi Luowa, his voice reached them before he did.
As soon as he bellowed, more than a dozen subordinates who had been stealthily waiting in the restaurant stood up.
Tong Airui shook his head slightly, signaling it wasn’t necessary for so many people to intervene.
Yi Luowa stifled her laughter and told Yan Difei, "You better leave now. He gets murderous when he’s mad."
Yan Difei turned to look at Tong Airui, who was dressed simply, wearing only a white shirt for convenience. Ignoring him, Yan Difei pulled out a business card from his pocket and handed it to Yi Luowa. "Beautiful lady, consider my offer. If you feel like acting, give me a call."
Yi Luowa imitated his exaggerated movements, raising her orchid-like fingers to accept the business card. "Alright, I’ll take your card, but you’d better leave now."
Tong Airui slammed the two drinks onto the table, grabbed the business card, crumpled it into a ball, and tossed it on the ground. "Scram!"
"Hey! What’s your problem..." Yan Difei indignantly placed his hands on his hips, ready to argue.
The cold beauty had frozen briefly upon seeing Tong Airui earlier. Now, seeing that Yan Difei was about to escalate the situation, she quickly walked over, said nothing, and dragged him out of the restaurant.
Connie hadn’t spoken a word the entire time; now, seeing Tong Airui’s face darken, she was even more frightened into silence.
Yi Luowa, on the other hand, acted as though nothing had happened. She raised her orchid-like fingers and pointed at the two glasses of juice on the table. "There are three of us, but you only brought two glasses?"
"Stop imitating that disgusting behavior." Tong Airui snapped, slapping her hand away and inserting a couple’s straw into one of the glasses.
Yi Luowa burst into laughter. "Brother Airui, you’re surprisingly romantic, huh?"
"Enough talking! If you piss me off, I’ll bite you!"
Tong Airui glared at her and then glanced at Connie. Connie immediately realized she was occupying someone else’s seat and quickly relocated to the opposite side.
Yi Luowa mischievously raised her orchid-like fingers toward Connie again.
Connie couldn’t hold back and burst into laughter.
Tong Airui stared at Yi Luowa’s hands with a sinister expression and leaned in as if to bite her. Yi Luowa hurriedly hid her hands behind her back, lowered her head to sip from the straw, and mumbled, "Brother Airui, come on, let’s be romantic together too."
Tong Airui sat down beside her and affectionately tousled her hair.
"It’s delicious; you should try it." Yi Luowa nudged the cup toward him.
Tong Airui smiled faintly, took a sip, and frowned. "Too sweet."
"Don’t like it?" Yi Luowa tilted her head to look at him.
"Hmm, I rarely drink anything this sweet." Seeing her slight disappointment, Tong Airui took another sip. "But if it’s with you, I can drink it no matter how sweet it is."
"Can you two not do this?" Tong Aini came over angrily, holding a clutch. "You, as an older brother, flaunting PDA in front of your sister-in-law—don’t you feel any shame?"
Tong Airui lifted his gaze toward her. "According to F Country’s hierarchy, I’m actually the youngest among us three. Sister Ni’er, please have a seat. What drink would you like?"
"To flaunt PDA, you’re even willing to renounce being the older brother. You’ve really outdone yourself!" Tong Aini pouted and sat down. "I already told the waiter earlier; I ordered an orange juice. Have you ordered food yet?"
"We were waiting for you. Today, you’re the decision-maker. Whatever you want, we’ll eat." Yi Luowa pushed the menu toward her.
Tong Aini pursed her lips. "I’m not hungry, you guys decide."
"Wow, such a huge bouquet of roses!" Someone exclaimed from another table.
Yi Luowa glanced over briefly and muttered, "So extravagant!"
Seeing that Tong Aini didn’t even glance up, Connie nudged her arm. "A bouquet that big of blue roses must be 999 roses, right?"
Tong Aini lazily lifted her gaze. Seeing two people carrying the bouquet toward their table, she nudged her brother’s foot under the table. "Did you order this?"
Tong Airui furrowed his brows. "I didn’t order blue roses."
"Wow—another rose delivery!" The exclamation this time was even louder, and many people started discussing excitedly. "There are so many big spenders here. This time it’s purple roses!"
"Looks like both bouquets are heading in the same direction. Could it be two guys chasing one girl?"
"Could be!"
"Let’s sit back and enjoy the drama."
The delivery boy stopped at their table and politely asked, "Excuse me, who is Miss Tong Aini?"
"Aini, these are for you!" Connie said with a smile.
Tong Aini showed little interest and lazily asked, "Who sent the flowers?"
The delivery boy hesitated and then glanced at the other boy wearing sunglasses.
The one with sunglasses remained silent, pulling a card from the bouquet and handing it to Tong Aini.
When Tong Aini saw the slender hand extended toward her, she suddenly raised her head to look at the flower boy’s face. "You Jia!"
Yi Luowa and Connie were stunned. You Jia is here?
With a smile, You Jia removed his sunglasses. "Even like this, you still recognize me?"
Tong Aini jumped up and hugged You Jia tightly. "You’re terrible! Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?"
"Wanted to surprise you!" You Jia wiped away the tear at the corner of her eye with his hand. "Don’t cry now. So many people are watching; they’ll laugh at you."
"I’m not afraid of them laughing at me! It’s your fault—I’m crying because you startled me!" Tong Aini raised her small fists and playfully punched You Jia.
Tong Airui coughed lightly. "You two sit down or find another spot. Don’t block the way."
You Jia hurriedly pulled Tong Aini back to her seat.
Tong Airui shot an annoyed look at him. "You wanted to give Aini a surprise? Nobody stopped you. But why did you have to pick today?"
Watching as the huge purple bouquet was moved closer, You Jia chuckled and asked, "Brother, maybe we’ve got matching flowers going on?"
"What do you think!" Tong Airui grumbled unhappily. "I prepared a surprise for your sister-in-law today since it’s her first day of school. But you showed up first and moved Aini to tears. Now look at your sister-in-law—she’s calm to the point of indifference!"
Yi Luowa clutched her chest dramatically. "Brother Airui, it’s not indifference—it’s shock! It’s the first time I’ve ever received such a huge bouquet of flowers in my life. I don’t even know how to respond!"
"Your acting is so over the top. How did a talent scout take interest in you?" Tong Airui laughed, pulling her hands down. "Since the plan was ruined, I’ll prepare another surprise for you next time."
"Mua~ Thanks, Brother Airui!" Yi Luowa blew him a playful kiss. "Next time, get me tires instead."
"Tires?" Tong Airui frowned.
"Haha... Sister-in-law has some peculiar tastes in gifts." Tong Aini laughed gleefully, hugging You Jia’s arm. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Connie also laughed briefly but quickly lost her smile.
Yi Luowa noticed the disappointment in her eyes, nudged Tong Airui under the table, and whispered softly, "Tell them not to bring the flowers here."
Tong Airui understood, stood up, and walked over to instruct that the flowers be distributed among all the other guests present.
Tong Aini also guessed the reason and discussed with You Jia to place the remaining flowers at the center of the restaurant.
Once everything was sorted, they acted like nothing had happened and handed the menu to Connie, letting her decide on the dishes.
Connie pressed her lips together and smiled. "You guys don’t have to ruin your own mood to cater to mine. Fifth Brother’s so predictable—I’m used to it."
"Just predictable? What’s that supposed to mean?" Tong Aino walked over with his hands behind his back.
Connie pouted and said nothing.
Tong Aino glanced at You Jia. "Here all the time! Didn’t you just leave not long ago?"
You Jia smiled warmly. "I’ve been gone a few days now. What seems like a blink of an eye to you all feels like years for me. I talked to my dad and he’s agreed to hold things down for a while so I can take a short vacation."
