Chapter 263: Chapter 251: Who Is So Bored! (First Update)

Yi Luowa blearily slept until eight and jolted upright in panic after glancing at the time.

Lying next to her, Tong Airui chuckled, "Why such a big reaction?"

Yi Luowa turned sharply to grab his neck, "You’re going to get me killed! It’s already eight and you didn’t wake me up!"

Tong Airui’s gaze dropped to her chest and he teased, "Your top’s askew."

Yi Luowa immediately released him and burrowed under the blankets.

From under the covers, Yi Luowa kicked him, "It’s eight o’clock, why aren’t you up either?"

"Who gets up early on a weekend?" Tong Airui laughed, sitting up and grabbing both of their pajamas. "Now that we’re up, let’s get ready. We leave promptly at eleven."

Yi Luowa pouted, emerging from the blankets. "We’re on such tight timing, and yet you didn’t wake me earlier."

"I couldn’t bring myself to wake you." Tong Airui leaned in to kiss her cheek. "Wife, I’m sorry you had a tough night yesterday."

Yi Luowa coyly glared at him, "Good that you know. Don’t overdo it next time."

Tong Airui quickly pulled his clothes on. He never used to sleep in, but now he’d take any chance to hold her just a little longer. Besides, if he got up too early and left her alone, it’d be pretty awkward when she came downstairs.

Yi Luowa got dressed with a smile, climbed out of bed, and asked, "Are you heading to the bathroom first, or should I?"

"Let’s go in together." Tong Airui grinned, following her.

"Not a chance!" Yi Luowa blocked the bathroom door with her hand.

"Why not? It’s not like you’re shy with me anymore." Tong Airui said as he tugged her through the door.

Long Che sat in the living room, glancing upstairs for the umpteenth time. Today was truly odd—none of the kids were awake.

"Aren’t you going to wake them up?" Long Che turned to his wife.

Tong Yao dismissed him with a shrug, "If you want to wake them up, then go do it. I’m not volunteering to annoy them."

Tong Jiaqi chuckled, "Let them sleep; it’s rare they get to rest. We’re leaving at eleven, aren’t we?"

"We’re easy. The ladies, once they start getting ready, we’d be lucky to be out by two." Long Che shook his head in exasperation.

Just then, Yi Luowa and Tong Airui walked down hand in hand.

Yi Luowa smiled apologetically, "Mom, sorry about oversleeping."

"It’s the weekend; sleeping in is nothing to apologize for." Tong Yao pointed upstairs. "You two are the earliest ones up. The others are still sleeping."

Yi Luowa smiled and glanced upstairs. Little Raindrop came down carrying Duoduo, explaining as she walked, "Duoduo was fussy last night. He only slept late into the night, so I accidentally overslept."

Tong Airui laughed so hard his shoulders shook and whispered to Yi Luowa, "Who knows if it was Duoduo being fussy or her husband."

Yi Luowa gave him a playful glare, scooped up Duoduo, and cooed, "You little troublemaker, why don’t you ever go to sleep?"

"I missed Yi Yi!" Duoduo clung tightly to Yi Luowa’s neck.

"Such sweet talk!" Tong Airui laughed, pinching his little nose. "Come with Uncle. Let’s go upstairs and knock on their doors."

"No no no!" Duoduo held onto Yi Luowa stubbornly, refusing to let go.

Long Che said coolly, "Duoduo doesn’t want to go with you. Stop teasing him and go fire off a few rounds outside."

Tong Airui nodded with a laugh, instinctively reaching for his waist. But dressed casually, he carried no gun on him.

Long Che gestured toward the study.

Tong Airui quickly stepped inside and soon returned holding a handgun.

Duoduo’s eyes lit up instantly. "Bang—Bang!"

Yi Luowa smiled at him, "You’re not scared, huh?"

"Look!" Duoduo wriggled in her arms.

Yi Luowa turned to Little Raindrop, "Sis, can Duoduo watch?"

"It’s fine. His dad takes him and Yak out hunting all the time."

Knowing Duoduo wouldn’t be frightened, Yi Luowa followed Tong Airui outside. Tong Airui gazed up at the sky, "There’s not even a crow around. Can’t show off even if I wanted to."

"No need to show off, I already know you’re the best!" Yi Luowa teased with a warm smile. "Your family is quite something—using gunshots to wake people up!"

"It’s our family!" Tong Airui corrected her deliberately. "I’m about to fire; you’re not afraid, right?"

Yi Luowa shook her head and hugged Duoduo tightly.

After ensuring she was ready, Tong Airui raised his gun and fired three shots into the air.

"Bang—Bang—Bang!" Duoduo mimicked from Yi Luowa’s arms.

"Wow!" Yi Luowa, impressed, approached him with a grin once he lowered the gun. "Brother Airui, you should teach me how one day!"

Proud after being praised by his wife, Airui readily agreed, "Sure, I’ll teach you sometime."

Tong Aino was the first to rush downstairs after hearing the gunshots. Seeing the elders calmly seated in the living room, he pouted. "Who’s being so childish?"

Long Che pointed at his watch, "Look at the time. How are you all still sleeping?"

"I was starving last night and only fell asleep late. You couldn’t let me sleep a bit longer?"

"Go freshen up. Breakfast starts in ten minutes. If you’re late, don’t bother eating!" Long Che glared at him with no intention of being lenient.

As he chastised his son, two sons-in-law and a nephew descended in a line.

Long Che frowned briefly. "Were you all up with the kids last night, too?"

Monica shook her head with a laugh, "I was, but You Jia wasn’t. We woke up early and went to the fourth-floor gym when no one else was awake. And guess what? We found Third Brother there exercising too."

Long Che scanned them with a stern look.

"Dad, were the gunshots just now Fourth Brother practicing?" Monica asked, still amused.

"No practice, just morning wake-up calls!" Tong Airui laughed as he joined them. "Not bad, though—woke everyone up at once."

Connie peeked down from the second-floor railings and pouted, "Brother, you’re so annoying! That gunshot scared me so bad my eyebrows smeared onto my forehead!"

"Haha... Come down and show everyone!" Tong Aino teased.

You Jia chuckled and glanced up.

Connie huffed and threw a tissue at Tong Aino, "Annoying! Fifth Brother, I saw Connie packing her bags just now."

"Packing is fine... Why would she be packing bags?" Tong Aino’s face shifted, and within seconds, he bolted upstairs three steps at a time.

"She’s leaving!" Connie snorted, returning to her room.

Tong Aino froze for a moment, then rushed to Connie’s room.

Connie had finished packing and was walking out the door when she saw him hurrying over. Her brows furrowed slightly.

"Connie, are you leaving?" Tong Aino reached out to grab her.

Connie avoided his hand, swiftly circled past him, and headed downstairs.

Tong Aino stood there, watching her, feeling an unbearable restlessness rise in his chest.

Yi Luowa approached gently, "Why are you packing now?"

"I suddenly miss home and want to go back early. When Ai Ni gets engaged, I’ll come from Laiman to S Country." Connie smiled faintly, lightly patting Duoduo’s face. "I heard Duoduo shouting just now from my room. He’s so brave!"

"He didn’t scare you, did he?" Yi Luowa felt a mix of emotions as she watched Connie. She wasn’t sure if Connie would ever return once she left.

"Not at all. My room faces the window; I heard you guys talking when you went outside." Connie walked over to Tong Yao and gave an apologetic smile. "Aunt, I called my mom last night, and the more we talked, the more I missed them. I want to visit them after the banquet today."

Tong Yao froze for a moment before breaking into a smile. "That’s a good idea. But since we brought you here, it’s our responsibility to send you back. After the banquet today, how about Nuo’er accompanies you home?"

Connie hurriedly shook her head, "He can’t leave the company. I’ll call the embassy later and have them arrange it."

"Connie, listen to your aunt!" Teng Tianxiang stood up, gazing toward the upstairs landing where Tong Aino stood. "You’re taking Connie back yourself!"

"I’m not doing it!" Tong Aino bellowed, "I won’t do it, and I won’t let her leave either! Connie, try and see what happens. If you dare leave today, I’ll..." W—m—m!"

The last one out the door, Mai Zekai, clamped his hand over Tong Aino’s mouth, warning him quietly, "Speak nicely! The more you rant, the more determined she’ll be to leave."

"M-m-m... Let go of me!" Tong Aino wrenched free of his grip. "She says she’s leaving. If she leaves, will she ever really come back?"

Mai Zekai shook his head slowly, "If I were her, I wouldn’t come back either. If this is your attitude, you’ll drive her crazy—or scare her away for good!"

Tong Aino ignored him and stormed downstairs.

Connie, seeing him approach, hastily hid behind Yi Luowa.

Tong Aino had no time for evasiveness, shouting at her over Yi Luowa’s shoulder, "Connie, as long as you don’t leave, I swear in front of everyone here—I’ll never yell at you again or make you mad!"

Seeing his epiphany, Yi Luowa carried Duoduo aside.

Connie looked down silently, not saying a word.

Tong Aino grabbed her arm, "I’ve said all this, and you still won’t forgive me?"

Connie wordlessly removed his hand, turning to sit near Tong Yao instead.

Tong Yao pulled her down beside her and looked at her foolish son. "Connie only misses home. Go back with her and let her visit."

Tong Aino pressed his lips tightly together and stared at Connie for a long moment before he finally said, "Fine! I’ll take her home!"

Connie tried to speak, but Tong Yao patted her hand lightly with a smile. "No more talking. Today is a happy day. We’ll discuss everything else after the palace banquet. Let’s go eat first."

Long Che got up first and tilted his head to Tong Airui, "Call your elder brother and tell him to come back for breakfast."

"What’s Elder Brother doing now?" Tong Airui asked curiously.

"He’s out running with your sister-in-law and the kids." Long Che scoffed lightly, heading into the dining room himself.

Tong Airui quickly picked up the phone, dialing as Lance entered with three kids and Qiqi.

"We were jogging when we heard gunshots from this direction. Is everything okay?" Lance asked with visible concern.

"Nothing’s wrong. Hurry and freshen up to eat breakfast." Tong Yao smiled warmly, though her heart churned as if on a hot grill. In her mind, raising children was much easier when they were small. Once grown, there was no end to her worries.
