Birthing Legends: My Womb Creates SSS Monsters-Chapter 80: Maddy Faces the Unexpected… Something Appeared at Maddy’s Door.
Everyone gathered at the cavern entrance, their hair still damp from the hot springs and their skin glowing with the vitality of a heavy feast. Clean, fed, and radiating power, the family stood ready. Maddy adjusted her clothes, her eyes sweeping over her children with unmistakable maternal pride.
"Alright, listen up. We’re heading to Area 1. Our job is to map every inch of this cave and clear out any unknown monsters. This isn’t just exploration. The monsters living in Area 1 will become the very foundation of your... next sibling."
Sephiran practically exploded with excitement.
"A NEW SIBLING?! Then... after they’re born we feast again, right?! Let’s go!"
While Sephiran bounced with enthusiasm, Frovian looked far less impressed.
"We were born mere seconds ago... and Mother is already planning the next child."
Arach slowly straightened, his six eyes narrowing with calm focus. His four massive arms folded across his chest as he gave a firm nod.
"Understood, Mother. If this hunt shapes the next member of our family, then I will ensure only the strongest and most worthy creatures are brought to you."
One of his ears twitched slightly. Even he looked a little excited.
Dyralfa rolled her shoulders, the heavy draconic muscles in her arms shifting. A slow grin spread across her face as her tail swayed behind her.
"So this hunt decides the strength of our next sibling..."
Maddy ended her announcement.
"And that’s not all... If Area 1 turns out to be the final section of this cave, then beyond it should lead us to the surface. As you can see, I’m making sure our family grows quickly. I just know... this world is very dangerous, and our family needs to become much stronger if we want to survive."
For a moment, her expression hardened.
She couldn’t help remembering the monsters that had forced the princess demigod she now inhabited into this tragic fate. If a being like her could be brought down... and if the Dragonborn who ruled above them were the ones who defeated her... then those Dragonborn were surely far more terrifying.
She would make sure everything was ready when the day came. But as she spoke about danger—
Her Divine Sight flickered.
Her Seismic Dominion screamed.
Arach reacted instantly. His four arms moved to his blades, his six eyes narrowing toward the tunnel entrance.
"Mother... someone is at the entrance."
Dyralfa hissed, her Apex Predator Instinct flaring.
"I feel it too. The mana signature is... erratic."
The room went deathly silent. Maddy’s head turned toward the entrance. She could feel it now—clear and sharp. This was real danger. She began walking toward the door she had created. Each step was slow, deliberate.
"I know no one should be able to break this door... but if someone can... then they are strong."
Her hand hovered over the surface. The air grew heavy with tension. If an S-Rank party had reached them this quickly, things could go very wrong. Slowly, with agonizing precision, Maddy pulled the door open.
"Who is it...?"
She looked straight ahead into the darkness of the tunnel.
Nothing.
Then her gaze slowly lowered to the ground.
"Oh... oh my gods."
At her feet was a creature that defied the logic.
"WAAAAUGH!"
This creature was an anomaly among worm species. It wasn’t one of those grotesque man eating worms, nor one of the dull rock-mineral burrowers that chewed through stone. It was... something else entirely.
Behind her, her children instantly reacted.
Arach’s arms blurred as weapons formed along each limb. Sephiran lifted his massive war bat, ready to swing. Dyralfa’s claws slid out with a metallic scrape. Frovian’s hands ignited with elemental power.
But Maddy’s reaction made all of them freeze.
"IT’S SO CUTE!"
The creature was a Chimera Worm. Its body was a soft beige, almost identical to the color of Maddy’s original worm form. It wiggled harmlessly on the floor, round and plump. Maddy let out a high pitched scream, her eyes literally turning into hearts.
"WE HAVE A VISITOR!!! A VISITOR I’VE REALLY BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO!! ACKK!! I LOVE IT!"
The Chimera Worm, however, opened its mouth wide exactly the way Maddy used to in her original form. With a sudden wiggle, it launched itself straight at her.
But Maddy was completely blinded by its cuteness... or at least, that’s what it looked like.
She didn’t even bother to dodge. Instead, she simply reached out and caught it midair like a flying puppy.
"Look! Look at it!"
Maddy squealed, holding the thrashing, snapping predator right in front of her face. Its jaws clamped shut inches from her nose, the sound sharp and violent like a bear trap slamming closed.
"It’s just like me! It’s a Chimera Worm! A SUPER rare spawn! OH GOSH, I’VE NEVER BEEN THIS HAPPY TO HAVE A VISITOR COME INTO MY HOME IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!"
Frovian scowled, his amphibian skin bristling.
"Mother, put that filth down! That worm... that lowlife does not deserve your godly hands. Put it down, or I’ll incinerate it with my flames! It dared to jump at you... it makes me feel... nauseated!"
Maddy chuckled, unbothered, cradling the thrashing worm.
"Hey, Frovian! Do not insult this creature. This is where I came from—it’s my original species. I evolved from this! Show some respect. It’s like looking into a mirror and seeing a younger me!"
Dyralfa, for the first time, sided with Frovian.
"He’s right, Mother. That thing is a pebble compared to you. Even if it’s technically like you, its existence is nothing like yours. You’re our mother, our creator. That thing is just a worm... and it’s trying to eat your face, in case you haven’t noticed."
Maddy ignored their protests, holding the worm close as its tiny jaws snapped uselessly against her Divine Body.
"Oh? What if it ate me? Would it become me? Would it gain everything I have? Oh, you little, little cutie worm... are you trying to be the new head of the family?"
