Andrew was glad for the moment of silence.

It was because every person that they contacted with what was going on was yelling by the second paragraph that Maxwell told them. They were furious. For Andrew, for Nicole, and for the simple fact that another true alpha family was trying to test them.

Luis was making sure that the Abraham family was going to realise that this was the wrong thing to do. She repeated over and over that this was kidnapping. She was an adult, even if she was from their family. Holding her in the family home against her will was a crime.

Any paperwork she had signed would be null and void due to the fact that it was probably signed under duress. Andrew was surprised that she was going the court route so soon, but when they spoke to Kim and Jenny, Kim's rumbling anger told Andrew that she was making the right call.

It was what the Proctor family had done, Luis was smart for getting the case ready right away.

The police were called, and at first they were very nonchalant about the whole thing, until Maxwell made it clear who he was, and how there was an army of people who were about to call in the exact same thing. They were terrified for the girl, and just because she was a true alpha did not mean that she was okay. She'd been a beta abused in a true alpha home, how in the world would she be okay?

Obviously, the police were a little overwhelmed with what Maxwell was saying, and even more so when his threat became true.

Everyone that Andrew and Maxwell contacted called in to ask for a welfare check on Nicole Abraham. Last seen at the Abraham home nearly 24 hours ago. Her fiancé couldn't get in contact with her, which was alarming in and of itself, and neither could her brothers.

Luis had called Nicole's Mom with a secret recorder getting everything that she said. Andrew had no idea why until Luis called them while they were driving to rave about what her Mom was saying. Her Mom was saying that she was fine, which was fucking bullshit. Nicole was not fine, but that was a battle Andrew could pick later.

Andrew was keeping himself in check. For himself, for Maxwell, and for Nicole and Noah. He could explode later, but he needed to keep his cool first. If he was not careful, he could end up arrested like Jenny had been when she had confronted the Proctors.

Andrew kind of wanted to see it happen, because god would it be satisfying for his fist to connect with his father's face, but this wasn't about him. This was about Nicole. He needed to put aside his concerns and worry about her first.

"You aren't stepping a foot out of this car." Andrew told Maxwell who was typing away. The car had been silent for about all of five minutes before Andrew spoke up. Maxwell's fingers stopped moving.

"What?" Maxwell's voice held a dangerous edge to it, and Andrew realised what he'd said could be interpreted poorly. Andrew gentled his voice.

"It's not because I don't think you would be a great asset inside. You would be. They're probably going to talk circles around me. It's because of your pheromone sensitivity." Andrew told him and Maxwell let out a controlled breath.

"You were about to have my nails on the back of your neck." Maxwell muttered warningly and Andrew let out a shaky laugh.

"Sorry. I realise how that could have sounded. I'm more worried about you going into shock. I'm going to be angry, and I can't guarantee I'm not going to throw my weight around if it works in suppressing them." Andrew told his fiancé, glancing at him from the corner of his eye. Maxwell was nodding slightly, the angry twist of his face, the furrowing of his brows, evening out.

"I understand. Please work on your delivery for next time. Say maybe, hey Maxy, I'm going to show off my sexy true alpha powers, you're going to have to hang back in the car so you don't faint from being all hot and bothered." Maxwell muttered and Andrew let out a bark of laughter.

"Do you get turned on when I do that?" Andrew asked, curious. They'd kind of talked about this before, but not fully. Maxwell snorted.

"Who wouldn't? You don't get angry often, Andy, and it's almost always while you are trying to protect someone. Who wouldn't find that attractive?" Maxwell pretended to fan himself with his hand. "I'm getting wet just thinking about it. I'm going to be sitting here in a puddle of my own making while you're storming the castle." Maxwell slid a dirty look towards Andrew and Andrew felt his cock harden in his pants.

"Come on Maxy. Don't say things like that. I have to be focused. I can't be thinking about you in the car." Andrew muttered. "Make sure to lock the doors once I'm out. In fact, get into the driver's side so you can escape if they try anything extremely stupid." Andrew muttered and Maxwell let out a laugh.

"I don't think they would be that stupid, but I'll do as you say as long as I get to kiss you a bit before you go in. Mark you as mine." Maxwell said, and Andrew shivered. He was pretty sure he'd need that actually.

A reminder that Maxwell might night be at his side, but he was there with him. Ready, waiting for him.

"I was just about to ask you to mark me anyways, so I'm glad we're on the same page." Andrew told him, glancing at Maxwell and he found that the man looked pleased.

"Oh good." Maxwell said and silence descended on the car again before Maxwell had to get back to work fielding all the calls from their family and friends.

Michael was on his way. He would be good to have there because he was a medical professional that everyone would be familiar with. Michael didn't turn anyone away, which meant that he had worked with the Abraham family before. Of course, he hadn't known that they were the family that had hurt Andrew and his Mom before that, but he was a Doctor.

He would not turn someone away who needed help. It was against what he stood for.

By the time that Andrew and Maxwell had pulled up, the police were there, Luis and Thomas were there, Ben was there, and so was Kim. The others had been sent to Noah's location, along with security.

They were not taking chances.

Luis had her lawyer on the phone, keeping them up to date on each and every thing that was happening. The police were attempting to gain access to the estate as peacefully as possible but as soon as Andrew pulled up and got out of the car, the air shifted.

The guards who were at the gates, preventing everyone from entering, took one look at Andrew's pissed off expression and it was like they were in a trance. They stepped back, allowing everyone to enter.

Andrew hated that, as did everyone else.

Maxwell made quick work of marking Andrew. It was a kiss with intent, and hidden inside of it was a promise of comfort once this was all over. Andrew was banking on that promise as the police floated outside of the main doors.

They were sealed for them. The guards had let them into the huge courtyard where all the cars were pulled into, but they weren't being let into the building proper. Andrew had a feeling he was the reason the gates opened. It was actually quite obvious that that was the case, and that he would be the key to open the rest of the mansion.

Andrew wondered what that meant, and what game they thought they were playing. Why were they behaving like this? Did they think they had an upper hand of some kind? That was so fucked up, and Andrew had a sinking feeling in his gut he knew what that upper hand was.

He prayed he was wrong.

Andrew waited until Maxwell was situated in the driver's side of the car, all locked inside, before he came to stand beside the unified force that was the police, Kim, Ben and Thomas. Luis was also there, but he almost wanted her back in the car where she was safe.

From Thomas' tight jaw, they had already had an argument about it, and he'd lost.

Andrew didn't even have to knock on the door before it opened and a rather stoic-looking butler stood there. His skin was old and weathered, a shade darker than Andrew's skin tone and Andrew felt his shoulders tense immediately.

"Luis, leave." Andrew ordered. He'd never used that kind of tone with anyone in attendance before, and Luis was shocked. "Hand the phone to your husband and go sit in the car with Max. Please." Andrew added, hoping that would soften the harsh words.

It was an order, loud and clear, and as soon as the other alphas, even the mated ones were close to the door, they could understand why.

The house reeked. It was absolutely soaked with omega heat pheromones, and it was not fair to Luis, even if she was mated, to be subjected to it. Honestly, Andrew didn't even want anyone else to be subjected to it.

The police looked horrified, and they were regrouping. This was a lot, this was serious, and Andrew was glad to see that their body cameras were on. Andrew said it out loud, making sure that there was no question about what was going on.

"The front doors opened and I'm getting hit by omega heat pheromones. I know you're mated, but I'm not comfortable sending an omega in there. That's the reason Max is back in the car. Please, Luis, go back to the car. Thomas can make sure everything is recorded." Andrew told her, and Luis folded easily when it was explained so clearly to her.

Kim came to stand beside Andrew, her eyes blazing amber, and her face taut with anger.

"Those mother fuckers. They set a trap for you." Kim muttered.

"Or Noah." Andrew said and Kim made a disgusted sound. A police officer came to stand beside them.

"You two are civilians." He began, his voice deep and gravelly, and not even hiding how disgusted he was by the appearance of this situation. "However, I feel you might understand what is going on here better than I can. Is Nicole inside?" He asked and Andrew gave a grim nod.

"I have very little doubt now that I smell this that she is. We need to hurry. The faster we get inside and get her out, the less time all of us are exposed to this." Andrew said and he nodded. Hesitatingly, he handed out masks.

"For the pheromones. They should help dampen the smell." He said and Andrew was appreciative of it. He didn't want to mark anyone by accident. That would be his literal worst nightmare.

Which was why those fuckers had done this.
