Chapter 525: Who knew that Andrew could get even more emotional?

Maxwell had made it clear to his single but attached friends that no one was announcing engagements at his wedding, and nor was anyone announcing pregnancies at his wedding. Maxwell had made it clear, and Andrew was the one who was supposed to enforce it.

He was in full agreement with Maxwell’s stance.

Maxwell’s family had made sure that Andrew didn’t announce an engagement at Ben’s wedding, and it was only fair that the same thing was respected at theirs. Now, if the pregnancy was found out by accident...well, that could be forgiven. However, Andrew and Maxwell were not encouraging that kind of behaviour.

When Maria had heard their hard stance on this, she had laughed, but then easily agreed. She wasn’t planning to have anymore kids at this point, and everyone else was either still pregnant or had just had a baby. The only person that was on their radar for doing such a thing was Amir, but he wasn’t like that.

That was where the ’by accident’ part came into play. Ben and Amir had not said anything about wanting more kids, but Andrew saw the way that Amir looked at Maria’s bigger family with longing and knew that he wanted more. That, and Ben would give Amir whatever he wanted as long as it was within his capabilities. Was two babies under 2 ideal? They could have nannies.

The rules that would apply to normal families did not apply to them.

However, everyone was being really respectful of their rules, and several people had already told them that they would not be wearing white to their wedding. Andrew had no problem with that.

Andrew wasn’t even wearing white to his wedding. He didn’t think Maxwell was either. Part of it was because Maxwell knew how uncomfortable wearing white made Andrew feel since his father wore it all the time. While Maxwell was a bit bitter about it because he knew Andrew looked good in white, there were ways to get around it.

Andrew didn’t think he was wearing anything boring, either. Luis was too deep into fashion for any of her children to wear boring outfits. Least of all for their wedding days.

Either way, it was out of his hands. Andrew had given up control so now he was cruising along with the plans that had been put in place months ago. Thankfully, he didn’t have time to worry about anything related to the wedding because family and friends were around him.

Maria and Jordan had worked together to make Andrew non-alcoholic cocktail flights for the night so that he could feel included while everyone else was drinking. They were these pretty rocks glasses that had a wooden board made specifically for the rocks glasses to sit. There were four of the boards, so sixteen glasses in total.

Which meant sixteen cocktails in total. It was a very nice thing for them to do and Andrew hadn’t expected it at all. Specifically, Andrew hadn’t expected that of Jordan since he had been busy with making and caring for a child. Jordan, ever the humble man, admitted that he had nothing to do with the cocktail ideas. That was all Maria, who glowed at the acknowledgement. Jordan had helped by making the glasses that everything was served in.

It was an early wedding gift and Andrew, because he was stressed, started bawling.

He couldn’t believe his artsy brother-in-law had made him glasses with little boards as a wedding gift.

Now that he knew that Jordan had made them, the little rocks glasses were so damn pretty and intricate that Andrew started crying and worried that he might break them. Jordan and Maria grew worried while Maxwell, who had been away from him for a moment, came over and was quickly caught up on why his fiancé was crying.

As soon as he found out that Jordan made the cups and that Maria had put in the time to make 16 separate non-alcoholic drinks for Andrew (and Maxwell), his face softened.

"You two are too kind and sweet." Maxwell told him, smiling. "But maybe be careful about making Andrew more emotional than he already is. We don’t want his eyes swollen for the wedding pictures." Maxwell joked. Maria laughed.

"That’s why we did it today, Maxy. To give him a day of recovery." Maria explained as Andrew slowly pulled himself together. Maxwell was squeezing his shoulder, patting his thigh. His face was a little pink from the scotch he had been drinking with his brother and father. He wasn’t intoxicated in the slightest, just prettier from the colour.

"I see. Well, I’m glad you two thought ahead. Baby, don’t cry too much, alright? I’ll find you handsome no matter what, but I don’t want you dehydrated." Maxwell told him. Andrew sniffed, laughed, and nodded.

"I got it." He rasped and Maxwell leaned in, kissing him on the lips. A quick peck, but quick enough that Andrew found himself pouting slightly. Maxwell’s smile when he caught Andrew’s pout did a number on Andrew’s heart.

"You know that there are too many people here for me to give you a deeper kiss." Maxwell told him with a cheeky smile and Andrew sniffed.

"Sorry for being clingy." He said and that was the right thing to say to get exactly what he wanted. Maxwell’s expression hardened as his eyes narrowed. He grabbed Andrew’s head and pulled him in. Kissing him deeply and passionately in front of their families and friends. Someone started cheering before Maxwell pulled away, licking his lips.

"Was the last drink something cherry?" He asked, sliding his gaze towards Maria. She grinned, giving a thumbs up.

"It was a cherry daiquiri." She told him and Maxwell chuckled, shaking his head as he stared at the dazed Andrew. He leaned in and kissed his forehead.

"Well, at least I know how to stop you from crying." He joked and Andrew sniffed.

"That was always the answer." Andrew muttered. Maxwell laughed, kissing him again before heading back to his brother and father. Maria was all smiles as she stared at Andrew and Andrew was floating.

Everyone was grinning at him and Andrew knew he was blushing hard.

"That was my fiancé." Andrew mumbled, tickled and pleased. Rose laughed.

"He’s going to be your husband." She told him and Andrew’s silly grin couldn’t be stopped.

"Yeah. I’ve gotta savor the feeling of fiancé in my mouth for a little while longer." Maria nearly choked on her drink.

"Not in public you don’t." She told him, serious, and that brought a round of giggles from everyone around him. The tension was broken, and the jovial attitude was returned to the room. Amir’s grandmother let Andrew and Maxwell know that they were allowed to sleep together tonight, but that was it before the wedding.

Andrew and Maxwell both gave a tight smile at that. Neither one of them wanted to sleep separately, but Amir’s grandmother was very kind to them and following a few of the traditions that he suggested weren’t going to hurt them. Not in the long run. It was just a few days, and it wasn’t like any of the traditions and superstitions that they were being asked would hurt them.

It was just going to make them uncomfortable for a little bit.

~

Andrew and Maxwell spent the night wrapped up in each other’s arms. It wasn’t sexual by any means, but was rather intimate for them. Comforting, soothing, taking relief in each other’s embrace. It was a wonderful night before they would only be able to see each other and not sleep with each other.

They were still allowed to kiss and touch, but there was something...different about being told that they couldn’t sleep together. Even if Maxwell and Andrew hadn’t done it the night prior, it was still strange to have others policing them in that way. It was Andrew and Maxwell’s choice to follow along, but it was fine.

The next morning was busy. Full of laughter, giggles, children having tantrums and adults being a little hungover and grumpy. However, a buzz of excitement still filled the air and Andrew was glad that everyone was.

Andrew did his final fitting for his wedding outfits, Luis, May and a tired-looking Kim showing up for the fitting. All of them were excited to see Andrew in his outfits and were just as excited to see Maxwell in his. Luis couldn’t stop crying, so happy to see Maxwell getting married to a good man. Andrew’s own smile creased his cheeks. Kim gave him a firm hug and May hugged him and called Ford in as well. Ford was the weepy one out of the two of them. The man was so proud of Andrew and how happy he was.

It was an emotional moment that the others watched over, emotional themselves. Ford was basically Andrew’s Dad. He had taken over the role when his real father hadn’t shown up. It was a big deal that he was so happy for him.

Andrew did his best not to get tears on his clothes ahead of the wedding. He knew he was going to be a mess the day of, which was why Ford and May’s gift, a nice, pretty flowered handkerchief for the ceremony, was so meaningful. It was covered in a mixture of flowers, but no hydrangeas.

May admitted that they had scoured the internet and shops all around town for one that did have them, but they were blue. Her face soured at that, and Andrew had laughed. He was just glad that they had thought of him this much. May also admitted that she got one for Maxwell as well. A matching set.

Andrew’s chest was so full of love he wasn’t sure what he should do. Everyone was coming forward with little acts of love and care that Andrew was having a hard time dealing with his emotions. He wasn’t used to it, and May, soft but also firm, told him that he had to.

He often gave so easily without asking for anything in return and now was the one big day where they could shower him with the affection he deserved. He better get ready for it, and it wasn’t going to stop after the wedding day either.

Her look after was a warning, filled with love, and Andrew had just laughed. It was so like her to comfort him, and warn him all in the same breath.

Andrew encouraged everyone to go see Maxwell for his fitting, including Ford. Andrew just needed a few minutes to himself. Not in a bad way, just in a processing way. He would meet everyone in the garden room.

Andrew then showed off his suits to his Mom, making sure that she got to see everything, even if she wasn’t really with him. It made him feel better, and he really didn’t want anyone else around to see him do it.
