Chapter 545: What’s behind the door, Maxy?

Thankfully, their team arrived before Maxwell and Andrew could take the moment any further. They were looking for a grocery list and an order from the restaurant. Instead, they found that they were interrupting a moment for the newlywed couple and Maxwell flushed.

No one said a damn word as their normally stoic, professional, owning any awkward moment boss turned the shade of a damn peach.

Andrew recovered enough for the both of them, asking for the use of their head security’s phone to pick out food that he was sure Andrew and Maxwell would enjoy. He didn’t skip on getting the oysters.

He also made sure to write out a grocery list, grounding himself in the actions as he scanned the kitchen, going through the spices and other things that were stocked here. Once that was done, he finished typing out his list and handed the phone back to the security head. Maxwell hadn’t moved from his spot, his hands even covering his face and Andrew just wanted to comfort the other man.

He wasn’t normally like this. Normally he was the confident, proud Maxwell Beckett. But today was different. They had just agreed to try for a child. While both of them were sober and there was little to nothing holding them back. Andrew would expect anyone would be a little unlike themselves. Did Andrew like that Maxwell was blushing so much in front of others?

Absolutely not. Andrew wasn’t trying to be a crazy possessive true alpha, or hell, even a regular alpha, but there were some things that he got a little riled up about. Like his new husband blushing thinking about how Andrew was going to fill him up to the brim to get him pregnant and other alphas, mated or otherwise, were around him.

Thankfully, the head of security knew Andrew and Maxwell well enough that they knew that they kept their distance. They’d worked a few of the heat and rut cycles that they had and knew that Andrew was possessive during those times. They kept their distance from Maxwell, staying in the living room while Andrew moved around the space.

When Andrew handed back the phone, they hesitated for a moment.

"Most rooms have security cameras. If you want to use the room, outside of bedrooms, just call ’lights out’ and we’ll shut everything connected to that room off. We’ll have to automatically turn it on 3 hours later." They told him and Andrew blinked.

Huh.

Andrew nodded, appreciative of that information. He knew who Maxwell was. While he liked a couple of positions, he also liked it when Andrew got creative, though he’d never say it out loud. There weren’t mirrors here, but if it got dark enough...they could use the reflection from all this glass.

Andrew cleared his throat, trying to keep his mind out of the gutter while in the presence of others.

"Thanks for the heads up. Does Maxy already know that?" Andrew asked and they shrugged.

"Pretty sure? It’s standard procedure for the Becketts and their homes. You know, with Mr. and Mrs. Beckett being all affectionate, he was the one who made that rule." Andrew felt his eyes widen at the information.

Were Luis and Thomas affectionate?

Andrew glanced at Maxwell, how cute he was and thought, yeah, they had to be. They made three kids nearly back to back. They might be polite and from ’high society’ but the rumours about them were scandalous.

Andrew wondered what kind of rumours would follow him and Maxwell, and that made a silly, goofy smile cross his face.

"Thank you. We’ll try to keep things uh, pg until you get back." Andrew told their security guard, who laughed loudly in response.

"Sir, you could just stay on the third floor. We’ll text both of your phones when we are coming in and then leaving. Have a good rest of your night." They said, eyes sparkling. Andrew felt his smile get wider as he heard Maxwell huff.

"Then I’m going up now. Don’t come in until I say so." Maxwell said, getting to his feet. His ears were so pink Andrew worried he might hurt himself. The security guard remained as Maxwell rushed off, his face burning with colour and Andrew stood there, stunned.

Then, his mind slipped to why Maxwell wanted him to wait and Andrew covered his face with his hands.

"How am I going to survive when he’s so freaking cute?" Andrew muttered, complaining to no one in particular. The soft laughter from their security guard filled his ears.

"Sir, you won’t. Take it from someone already married and claimed, you’ll never get used to it." The humour in their tone only made Andrew shake his head. That wasn’t exactly what he wanted to hear when he was trying to keep a hold on his sanity. They smirked. "Good luck, and I’ll make sure to get the other list sorted as well." They said, winking, before leaving Andrew alone.

Waiting to go upstairs and see what his omega had planned for him.

~

Andrew stood outside of their bedroom, tapping his foot as he waited. He wasn’t trying to rush Maxwell, never, but his heart was going to beat out of his chest. His palms were sweaty from how anxious he was and he could feel his pheromones seeping out of him like a damn air diffuser.

"Baby, you’re making me nervous." Maxwell called through the door. He sounded muffled, telling Andrew that he was quite a distance from the door. It was only because of his heightened hearing that Andrew was able to pick up his words clearly.

"I’m sorry. It’s not intentional. I just feel like I’m going crazy. What are you doing in there?" Andrew asked, aware he sounded as needy as he actually was. There was silence on the other side of the door. Andrew felt his pulse in his throat, swallowing thickly as the silence hung between them.

"I’m working up courage." Maxwell muttered finally and Andrew exhaled sharply. Maxwell? His Maxwell was working up courage? For what? What had he done? What was he doing?

"Are you alright, Angel? Did something go wrong?" Andrew’s mind immediately went to the worst places. He was two seconds away from bashing the door down, more worried for Maxwell’s safety than anything else when he heard the soft, light laughter from the other side of the door.

"Baby, where is your mind going? I’m not dying or anything. I just...this is embarrassing." Andrew gulped. The soft whiny way that Maxwell said that, the way his voice trailed off...

"Can I come in?" Andrew asked, his voice low. There was a soft sound on the other side of the door, and Andrew felt like his body was on fire. What was Maxwell doing on the other side? What was so embarrassing?

Andrew had a feeling he might know what, but he wanted to see with his own eyes. To know exactly what Maxwell was getting himself worked up about.

The soft sound of the lock sliding back made Andrew’s body shudder. Then, when it slowly opened just a crack so that a big, blue eye could stare at him, Andrew had to clench his hands at his sides so that he didn’t rush him, grabbing him by the shoulders and kissing him until neither of them could breathe.

"You can come in." Maxwell whispered. Andrew stared at him as neither of them moved.

"You have to move away from the door, Maxy." Andrew whispered in response and watched as the other man turned pink. God, he was so damn cute. Andrew wanted to kiss every inch of his skin. Worship him like he deserved.

Andrew was going to make the man whimper in ways that he had been unaware of. Andrew had only let part of that side of himself out during Maxwell’s heat, when Maxwell wasn’t fully himself. When Maxwell wouldn’t drown in embarrassment.

Andrew wasn’t going to let that stop him today, not when he was fucking blushing and bashful, hiding behind a door after making Andrew wait outside. Andrew had been a good boy, he hadn’t asked him about his suitcase.

He deserved a reward and damn it, he wanted to bury his face in Maxwell’s bottom and listen to the man sob and cry as Andrew gave him pleasure.

There was an old saying that the baby wouldn’t take if the Mom didn’t cum. Andrew was going to do his damn best to make sure that the baby took.

"Maxy." Andrew called when Maxwell didn’t move. He was rooted to the place, his hand on the doorhandle. Andrew watched as the door shook. Unfortunately for Maxwell, it was a double door entry and since Maxwell had unlocked one side, Andrew could open the other door. Maxwell, in his own embarrassment, had forgotten that.

That was the only way to explain the shocked gasp that left his lips as Andrew stepped into the room. Andrew’s eyes went wide, his jaw dropped and quickly, Andrew’s gaze darted to the hallway before he shut the door carefully behind him, and then took the doorhandle from Maxwell and shut that door as well.

No one else was allowed to see Maxwell like this. Andrew didn’t want to go to jail and if anyone saw his precious husband like this, his omega?

The soft growl that left Andrew’s lips had Maxwell’s body trembling. The soft, breathy gasp that left Maxwell’s lips had Andrew’s gaze moving up, focusing on those rosy, plump lips.

"You look like you want to eat me alive." Maxwell whispered. "Do you like it that much?" There was a slight twist to his lips, an insecurity in the question that had Andrew’s hands clenching.

"Maxy." Andrew rumbled, scanning the man from head to toe. "I more than like it, I love it. You look..." Andrew cut off, exhaling sharply. "I need to go put contacts in. I need to be able to watch you up close. Don’t. Move." Andrew ordered, watching as Maxwell’s eyes widened.

"You’re ordering me around?" Maxwell asked, his voice shaky. Andrew huffed.

"You don’t have to listen to me, but you’ll like it if you do." Andrew told him, scowling as he had to tear his gaze from Maxwell for even a second to go put his contacts in. He should have been smart and worn them to the airport. Foolish man.

He’d better be fucking fast so that Maxwell didn’t wither away. Or get any silly ideas and try touching himself without Andrew there.

The annoyed sound left his lips before he barked a warning at Maxwell.

"Don’t touch yourself. That’s my job." Andrew snapped and there was a small, disbelieving sound that left Maxwell’s lips.

"As soon as we get married you get bossy, huh?" Maxwell muttered. Andrew froze. Uh oh, was he in trouble? "Don’t stop. I like hearing you tell me what you want me to do." Andrew relaxed. Shit. He wasn’t one to normally curse, but Maxwell was going to make him lose his damn mind.

Even more so as Maxwell’s pheromones wrapped around his throat. Delicate, sweet, soft. Teasing. A true demon after his sanity.
