Chapter 55: Horse Shit!!!

<October 9, Longham Wrestling Arena, Longham City>

"Hello folks, welcome to yet another weekly television of pro wrestling extravaganza. We are joining you live from Longham City. And this week’s edition of <Fyre> is promising to live up to the standard set by last week’s show."

"Joining me on the commentary table are Rob Williams and Dallas Moonbyte. We have a truly outstanding line-up waiting for you tonight," Irvin spoke his usual spiel welcoming everyone to the show.

"Last week, we ended on a rather tense note as Dacey Surestone went off on her trainer/mentor Andrew Gibson and blamed him for all her changes causing the entire wrestling community to go into shock. If you hadn’t caught up to that, here’s a little reminder of what went down last week," Dallas spoke reminding the viewers and the live audience about last week’s main event.

Following that, a video package featuring Diana, Dacey, and Mr. Gibson aired. It started with Dacey attacking Diana, followed up by showing Dacey’s changes, then Diana’s return, and ends with highlights of Diana confronting Andrew Gibson.

A small black screen was then put in which was followed up by Dacey going off on Andrew Gibson blaming him for her actions and changes. The video ended when Dacey showed the mic in Mr. Gibson’s chest and walked away, leaving him and the entire arena stunned.

"See that, the Goddess was betrayed. Not by anyone, but by the one person she respected the most and worked hard for. And you ask why the Goddess is the way she is. Shame on you Dallas! Shame on you Irvin! Shame on everybody that ever doubted the Goddess’s pure soul!" Rob piped in, the moment the video package ended.

"Rob, are you telling me that you actually believe that crap?" Dallas asked incredulously.

"What do you mean, Dallas?"

"I mean, obviously Dacey Surestone is fooling everyone here. Especially Mr. Gibson and Diana. I, for one, don’t believe what she said. I think the only one responsible for Dacey Surestone’s change in behavior is her. Her, and no one else!"

"How dare you!? After the Goddess bared her soul like that, you still have the gall to doubt the Goddess. It is men like you who blame the victims are the problem of today’s society, Dallas!"

"Hey, I am not blaming anyone here. I ain’t just buying her story, that’s all."

"So, now you are backtracking. You are a coward, Dallas."

"We will know who the coward is boy when I get out of this seat," Dallas growled.

"Guys, guys, come on. We still have the entire night for you guys to be at each other’s throats. I think what we can all agree on is that things are not so simple with Dacey’s recent actions, right?" Irvin piped in before they could continue further.

"Whoever is the reason behind it, it is clear there is a lot going on with Dacey Surestone. And the LWC Women’s Champion Diana Wharton had announced that she would address Dacey directly tonight," Irvin said plugging into the opening segment. "And it will be addressed right now!!!"

Just as Irvin’s voice faded, Diana’s music hit causing the crowd to erupt. The crowd was still emotionally stoked from the last week’s main event. And to see Diana once more emerge from the curtain made them all go wild.

Diana made her way into the ring with her usual fanfare and did her usual poses to rouse the crowd before grabbing a microphone. The entire arena fell silent as they waited for Diana to address Dacey.

Diana played with their emotions a few times by giving false starts causing the crowd to become even wilder. However, at last, she did start speaking and she started addressing the crowd first.

"You know... when I came out last week, I held two people responsible for what happened to me on <Break Out>. Like whatever happened to me to put me in the hospital for more than fifteen days, I held two people responsible. And I was hell-bent on confronting them both last week..."

"However... however, things didn’t go exactly as I envisioned. While I got to confront Andrew Gibson, the owner of LWC, things just went... let’s say downhill... hmmm that’s right, downhill from there."

"I was there... you were there... we were all there when that drama between Dacey Surestone and Andrew Gibson came out in the open..."

The crowd expressed their agreement by chanting <Why Dacey Why!?> at that moment. It kind of surprised both Diana and Rob, who was sitting at the commentary. It looked like the chant was really over with the crowd.

"Yeah, exactly, <Why Dacey Why!?>," Diana deftly went along with the crowd for a bit, encouraging them. "And we did hear from Dacey Surestone as well. She unloaded all these reasons that sounded just damn right... It sounded as if it made perfect sense at that time."

"But... but... I have had an entire week to sit back, relax, and think things over. I went through every bit of that speech with a fine-toothed comb..." Diana paused reeling the audience in.

"And I realized..."

"And I realized... that what she said out there was a load of horse shit!!!"

Diana said passionately causing the crowd to go wild. She walked to all four sides and looked at the crowd causing them to go even wilder. Rob noted how Diana always knew when to do what to get the crowd going. He realized that there was a reason Diana was the champion. She seemed to have the right grasp on the crowd mentality.

"That’s right... I am calling that entire emotional speech she did last week out here as horse shit. How she got injured and was left alone? Horse shit! How Andrew Gibson and LWC as a whole failed her? Horse shit! How each and every one of the fans and others in the locker room was the reason for her change? Horse shit!"

"I call it horse shit because every damn man and woman in the back there has gone through the same thing she had been through. And they didn’t start attacking people left and right!!!"

"I call it horse shit because, when someone laces up their boots and steps foot in this ring, they all know that injuries are common in this business. It isn’t something that only happened to Dacey Surestone!!!"

"I call it horse shit because, whoever has stepped foot inside these ropes knows that the crowd, you people, are fickle mistresses and it is hard to earn your recognition. It is a fact that every damn wrestler in the back knows in their heart."

"It is true, earning your favor is a hard battle, folks. But, it is a battle that I and countless other wrestlers in that locker room are willing to fight with our lives for. Because, we know that, once we get your favor, you will support us through thick and thin, come hell or heaven, it doesn’t matter. You will always be there for us."

"That is why that battle is worth fighting. And that is why I call what came out of Dacey Surestone’s mouth horse shit! The truth of the matter was Dacey Surestone couldn’t hack it. And then she blamed everyone but her for it."

"No wrestler has gone around attacking other people left and right for what Dacey has gone through. Trust me, there are a lot of people out there, wrestlers far better and far more talented than Dacey Surestone, out there trying to earn that one big moment."

"Dacey Surestone wasn’t an exception ladies and gentlemen, she is the norm of this business. And no one else stooped so low to attack others from behind with the intent to injure them as she did."

"That is why I call what she said last week, HORSE SHIT!!!"

The crowd roared in approval. And just like that, Dacey’s impactful speech last week was turned into an utter joke and the crowd was back to supporting Diana wholeheartedly.

Rob watched happily from the commentary as the crowd picked up the words <Horse Shit!!!>, and started to chant it all around the arena spontaneously. Diana waited out the crowd as they expressed their opinions loudly.

"Now... I wanted to do this last week, but things derailed. But, I am a determined bitch and I ain’t leaving things alone just like that. So, Dacey, get your ass out here. I want to look you in the eyes and ask why you did it. No more hiding, no more drama. It is just you and me. We can finish this face to face, woman to woman," Diana called Dacey out much to the crowd’s joy.

The crowd erupted wildly once more as they picked up Dacey’s name as a chant, demanding her attendance. Sure enough, within a minute or two, Dacey’s new music hit amidst the cheers, and Dacey walked out of the curtain with a mic in hand.

The moment Dacey stepped out of the curtain, she was drowned in boos. The cheers were suddenly changed to boos and the entire atmosphere looked ready to explode. However, Dacey didn’t mind the poor reception. In fact, she seemed to revel in it.

Dacey posed for a while, letting the crowd get the boos out of their system. She didn’t walk towards the ring, rather she stood at the entranceway. The face-off between the duo happened at a distance causing a subtle tension to grip the arena.

"You know..." Dacey began only to be abruptly interrupted by Diana.

"Ah-aah, bitch," Diana said shaking her fingers, "I didn’t call you out here to listen to yet another of your convoluted spiels. No, no, I called you here to make some things clear to you."

Dacey looked pissed, but the crowd was entirely behind Diana at this moment. She tried to speak a few times but the boos muted her out causing her to angrily look at Diana in the ring.

"I called you out here to tell you what exactly I think of your story full of horse shit that you spun last week. Let me make this loud and clear to you. I don’t care if you felt betrayed by your mentor. I don’t care if you felt as if your career was going to get over. I don’t care if you felt like you were abandoned."

"In short, I don’t buy what you are selling. But, what I do care about is that you put me in hospital for two weeks. What I do care about is that you ruined a historic moment for the entire women’s division in LWC. What I do care about is you spewing your toxic shit week after week."

"You see, when I realized that I am not buying the crackpot story you spun last week, I started questioning myself, why would Dacey Surestone attack me? I mean, we never even interacted before that. So, why would you attack me?"

"It took me some time, I will be honest. It didn’t come to me suddenly like an epiphany, or that it was right in front of my eyes. But, I did get there eventually. And you know what I realized?"

Diana asked Dacey from the ring. The crowd was listening to the dialogue raptly. They didn’t want to miss anything that is being said.

"I realized, you attacked me for the same reason that everyone behind in that locker room eyes me like a target. You attacked me for the same reason that everyone behind there envies and wishes to be me. You attacked me for this..."

Diana raised her belt high in the air and posed for the crowd. The crowd was roaring in approval by then. As Diana posed with her belt held high facing Dacey from the ring, Dacey paced back and forth like a caged animal.

Just as she was about to reply, Diana spoke cutting her off again.

"And I am not finished yet bitch. You see, when I won this title, I knew, deep in my heart, that I have now a target on my back. Every female back there now wants to beat me and hold this baby. Every wrestler in that locker room is now gunning for me because I now have what they want desperately."

"So, I have always been ready for a challenge. I know that there is no hiding the fact that I am the top woman in this division and it is a truth that isn’t going to sit well with a lot of people back there. I know they will be coming for me. I know they will be coming for this."

Diana once again raised the belt causing the crowd to go wild.

"So, I have always been prepared to face anyone and at any time. But, you know the difference between those people in the back and you. It is the difference that makes everyone here hate you to the bone."

"You want this, this title, this spotlight, this glory, this respect, just like every other female to lace up their boot. But, the difference in you is that you aren’t willing to work and climb up the ranks like everybody else."

"No, no, no, you bitch, you want to cut through the line and get straight ahead. You want to get this title shot without putting in a single ounce of effort. You don’t want to climb through the ranks like everybody else. You don’t want to prove yourself to deserve a shot at this."

"No, no, no. You want everything to be handed to you on a silver platter just because you are Andrew Gibson’s protégé. You want to cut through the line just because Andrew Gibson is your mentor and he owns this company. Unfortunately, Andrew is far too honest and fair for that shit. So, you attacked me. Ain’t I right, bitch?"

Dacey looked furiously at Diana as if Diana had leaked her innermost secrets. The crowd was already wildly supporting Diana wholeheartedly by now. They were booing Dacey and cheering Diana with abandon.

Every sentence Dacey uttered was met with resounding applause. Such was the hate for Dacey that the crowd even cheered when Diana called her a bitch.

"You are just a lazy, wannabe contender, in a long line of wrestlers who want my time. You are just that. Nothing more, nothing less. However, I had to give you props. I think while there is nothing good in your brain, it did come up with a way to get you your goal."

"You wanted my attention. You wanted me to see you. So, you picked the perfect time. Right when the whole world’s eyes were on the women’s division. Right when the whole women’s division was at its peak. You chose that exact moment to hijack it and make it all about you," Diana said causing the crowd to boo Dacey loudly.

"You found that exact moment when history is made and used it to bring the spotlight on to you. Kudos to you, you now have the spotlight you wanted. But, here is the thing..."

"While I may agree with the time you chose, I am not exactly fond of the way you chose. You didn’t have the courage to come face me inside the ring and challenge me. No, no, no. You were a coward that night."

"You sneak attacked me, after a long grueling match I had with two of the best wrestlers in the entire women’s division and took the spotlight for yourself. That is not the way of a contender, in my mind. That is the way of a coward. You, Dacey Surestone, are nothing but a cowardly, opportunistic bitch who is too lazy to put in the effort required to reach your goal."

"Well bitch, you wanted my attention. You wanted the world’s attention. Congratulations, you have it now. So, why don’t you get inside this ring now, so that I can give you the ass-whooping you truly deserve? If you want, I can even put this title on the line. Let’s go, right here, right now. Bring it, bitch!"

Diana said throwing the title away and motioning for Dacey to get inside the ring. The crowd roared wildly hoping to see them both go head to head, right in the middle of the ring, right now.
