Chapter 56: <Last Stand> Will Be Your Last Day As Champion

"Well bitch, you wanted my attention. You wanted the world’s attention. Congratulations, you have it now. So, why don’t you get inside this ring now, so that I can give you the ass-whooping you truly deserve? If you want, I can even put this title on the line. Let’s go, right here, right now. Bring it, bitch!"

Diana said throwing the title away and motioning for Dacey to get inside the ring. The crowd roared wildly hoping to see them both go head to head, right in the middle of the ring, right now.

Dacey also didn’t disappoint the crowd. She started marching towards the ring with a purpose. Pretty soon, she was near the ropes that were facing the entrance ramp. Everyone present in the arena became too invested and started cheering the duo on.

They wanted Dacey to get inside the ring and the fight to happen right here and right now. As they cheered on Dacey to enter the ring, Diana moved to the middle, as if she was making enough room for Dacey to enter, and started gesturing for her to come inside the ring.

Just when everyone thought that Dacey would enter the ring, she stopped and looked around at the crowd and Diana for a bit, before making a shooing gesture and started walking back to the backstage area.

Boos filled the arena as they realized that Dacey wasn’t going to fight Diana right there. The fans who were eagerly waiting for the real showdown to begin were disappointed with Dacey’s actions and started booing her.

Diana looked confused for a second before she went near the ropes and started hollering at Dacey to come back. However, Dacey wasn’t playing that game. She stood at the top of the entrance ramp and watched Diana holler at her with a smile.

At last, Diana got so pissed off that she grabbed the mic she had discarded and started speaking aloud.

"What’s the matter, Dacey? Too afraid to get into the ring with me? Too afraid to step up when it matters? You know what, why don’t I make it even easier for you? I will head to the middle of the ring and turn away from you. That way you can take your cheap shot easily?"

Diana hollered causing the crowd to cheer her. Diana then proceeded to do exactly what she said. She moved to the middle of the ring and turned away from Dacey. She raised her hand in a surrendering position and then spoke once more into the mic.

"Come on, Dacey. Let’s do this. Come get your cheap shot in. But, after that, I am gonna whoop your ass all over this arena," Diana goaded Dacey once more causing the crowd to erupt wildly.

Dacey stood at the entranceway looking as if she was ready to spit fire. She paced angrily for a few moments and made it look like she was going to go in and take that cheap shot. But, she paused midway and walked back to the entrance ramp.

"You know what, Diana, you almost had me there," Dacey said causing Diana to turn around. "Diana, I have to give it to you, you know exactly how to put pressure on someone. You know exactly how to lead these headless sheep around. But, I am afraid sweetheart, I ain’t one of your sheep."

"You came out here and within minutes, you made this all about yourself, didn’t you? Me and Andy’s problems have been pushed to the backseat, while you once again occupy the spotlight. It is exactly what you do, isn’t it? Not just today, I have been watching you since I came back and this is what you do," Dacey said causing Diana to look confused.

"You know, you almost had me there. If I was the same person three months ago, I would have fallen for it. I would have walked into your lovely little trap and made this thing entirely about you. But, no, no, no, I am not that person anymore and neither your nor these imbeciles’ opinions have any effect on me anymore."

"You wanna know why I attacked you? You wanna know why I chose that particular night? You wanna know what beef you and I have? All you have to do is ask, sweetheart. I am actually waiting for you to do exactly that."

"But, never mind, it is clear that you are obviously so caught up in your own world that you fail to even realize how many people’s dreams you have crushed. You are like this monster that devours everything around it and makes it stronger. So, I knew that if there was one person I need to take out, it was you."

"You are the cancer that the LWC Women’s Division is suffering from. I knew it the moment I saw you. I knew it then. And I knew it now. Don’t you even remember our first meeting? You say we have no beef? Sweetheart, you are delusional. You are half the reason my life turned out the way it was. And if I am not going to take you out, who else am I going to take out?"

As Dacey finished everyone started whispering. Inside the ring, Diana was obviously confused. She didn’t seem to realize what Dacey was getting at. As she stood there in confusion, Dacey began to speak again.

"The first time I met you, you were walking into Andy’s office as if you own this goddamn building. The first time I met you was when I was told to take the night off on the first day after returning. I bet you don’t remember that, don’t you?"

"I knew at that moment, you were the reason that I am not being welcomed as I should have been. You were Andy’s new shiny toy. You were the one that was apparently leading this division in my absence."

"Oh boy, did I hate you then? I just wanted to punch you right at that moment and knock your teeth out. But, that Dacey was soft. She willingly allowed you to step over her. And you stepped over her not even realizing that you were doing that."

"And week after week, I saw you do the same thing to other women out in the back. Opportunity after opportunity was handed to you, while those women were left scrapping the bits and pieces you threw away."

"While we all battled for those scraps, you were fed a royal meal week after week. You even made the entire women’s division about yourself. You swindled us, robbed us, and even stepped over us. But, your eyes never fell on us, did they? No, no, no, your eyes were always above too proud to even look down on who you were stepping on," Dacey spit venom shocking Diana to the core.

Diana stood there in a daze not knowing how to answer these questions.

"But, unlike others, I woke up. And when I woke up, I realized that in order for me to survive, you need to be put down. You can’t be allowed to exist. So, I took the opportunity presented to me and slayed the monster that was plaguing the LWC Women’s Division."

"Even now, you say that you want to put the title on the line, but you never did, did you? You speak all these promises and how you are the face of the women’s champion and how you want to be a fighting champion, but you never proved any of these."

"In the last two months, you have only defended that title once. In the last two months, you have only been hogging the spotlight for yourself. And when I took you out and you were gone, all those people backstage got their spotlight. But, ever since you came back two weeks ago, it has been all about you."

"And Andy’s walking around as if you are the one who keeps this division afloat. Newsflash bitch, you are the reason this division is in this state. If not for you, this division would have been much better. And you ain’t the face of this division unless you defeat me. So, none of your so-called accolades mean anything really."

"Tch," Diana snorted, "You know, for a moment I thought that there was something to your spiel. But, it is clear. All you want is a shot at this title. You know what, I am indeed a fighting champion. And I am putting this title on the line right here, right now. Send down a referee, I want to punch this rambling bitch in the face and shut her up!"

Diana hollered to the back causing the crowd to go wild once more. Diana soon started taking off her casual dress to reveal that she was indeed prepared for a match.

A referee came out from backstage and started jogging toward the ring, but Dacey didn’t move one bit. She looked mockingly at Diana and shook her head. By now, Diana was in her ring gear and was waving at Dacey to come inside the ring.

The crowd was entirely behind her as they urged Dacey to get into the ring with their cheers. But, Dacey was having none of it. She shook her head and stood at the entrance ramp without moving an inch.

"Diana, Diana, Diana... I give you this. You truly have this group of morons eating out of your palms. But, I ain’t falling for it. We are not gonna fight, just because you wanted to. You don’t get to have your way at my expense again."

Diana looked completely done with Dacey dodging the prospect of getting into the ring. Even the crowd was a little irritated by Dacey’s constant back-and-forth talk. They began to boo her once more. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

"Yeah, that’s right. You can boo all you want, but we are not going to fight today. If we are gonna fight, then it is going to be on my terms. I make the rules around here now, not the other way around."

Dacey spat venom at the crowd causing the boos to intensify.

"Name the place, bitch. I will knock you out cold," Diana said from the ring.

"Oh Diana, you really want to get your hands on me, don’t you? I am afraid it is not gonna happen tonight. But, here’s what we will do. You say you are willing to put that title on the line. Then, how about you put in on the line this Sunday, on <Last Stand>, against me."

"Figures," Diana shook her head. "Dacey you are once again proving that all you wanted was the spotlight. All the spiel you just spoke, is meaningless. But, I do want to get my hands on you. So, challenge accepted bitch," Diana roared causing the crowd to go wild.

"This Sunday, on <Last Stand>, I am gonna wipe that stupid smirk off your face. I am gonna punch you till you see stars. I am gonna kick you so hard that my boot will get stuck in your prissy ass. And above all, I am gonna make it clear to you and everyone out there, that I am the LWC Women’s Champion."

"I am gonna prove to everyone that I am what I say I am. I am the best wrestler in that locker room and I am the face of this division. Whether you like it or not, I am gonna knock you out and pin you right in the middle of this ring."

"When you wake up all groggy and all dizzy, you will still see me standing with my championship still around my waist. I am going to stand above you with my belt held high as you realize you were never at my level."

"You better, buckle up bitch, you are in for one hell of a beating this Sunday. And I am gonna do something that Andy failed to do. I am gonna beat some respect into your thick skull with my boots."

Dacey smirked upon hearing that.

"Diana, didn’t you know that belt right there was modeled after my waist? Unfortunately, I was never able to wear it. It was mine originally, whether I wore it or not, it was designed for me and it was made for me. And this Sunday, it is going to come back home."

"This Sunday, at <Last Stand>, I am gonna pin you 1...2...3... and I am gonna take back what was originally mine all along. I am gonna show you that you are not the best and you will never be able to lace my boots or fill my shoes. Enjoy your time with that belt, Diana. Because <Last Stand> will be your last day as LWC Women’s Champion."

Dacey smirked confidently and dropped the mic before walking back into the curtain. Diana stood there in the ring, shaking her head as if she couldn’t believe the words that came out of Dacey’s mouth at all.

In the end, she smirked and started posing to the crowd, eliciting a great response. Diana played to the crowd a bit as the commentators plugged the news to the audience at home.

"There you have it, folks, it will be Diana Wharton vs Dacey Surestone for the LWC Women’s Championship this Sunday on <Last Stand>. I am sure that this is a fight you don’t wanna miss."

"There is a lot of animosity between the two and there were a lot of accusations thrown around. Dallas, how do you weigh in on this," Irvin said turning towards Dallas.

"I am gonna go with Diana on this one. Sure, Dacey is a great wrestler, but Diana is on a roll now. And this thing is personal for her. After what Dacey did at <Break Out>, Diana is going to be coming for her blood at <Last Stand>."

"And Dacey knows that. That’s why she didn’t get in the ring today. But, you were right about one thing. This is going to be a fight. Not a match, but a fight between these two women."

"Rob, what’s your take on this?" Irvin asked turning towards Rob.

"Do you even need to ask?" Rob snorted. "Obviously, I am going to go with the Goddess. There is no way that Diana is going to beat the Goddess this Sunday. Let me tell you something Dallas, this became personal for Diana only recently."

"But, to the Goddess, this was personal long back. You saw what she did to Diana on <Break Out> and this time, the Goddess is going to do a lot more worse. All the pent-up frustration and rage the Goddess has been feeling, she is going to take it out on Diana."

"Diana better prepare herself to face the Goddess’ Wrath. I am telling you, Diana is not going to walk out this Sunday as champion. And we will be entering a new era of LWC. An era that belongs to the Goddess. And it will start this Sunday," Rob said confidently.

"Two different takes from our two commentators, here at the ringside, folks. And they both make valid points. This Sunday, it is going to be Diana vs Dacey. The match that we have all been waiting for for over a month now. And it will be for the LWC Women’s Championship. Don’t go anywhere, we will be back from the break before you know it."
