Booking Glory-Chapter 62: - Part 4
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back from the break. This match has truly turned into a slugfest now. Dacey has been dominating since the early moments of the match, however, Diana has found a second wind and this match could go either way at this moment," Irvin said welcoming the viewers from the break.
Meanwhile, inside the ring, Dacey and Diana were exchanging shots in the middle of the ring with unsteady feet. Whenever Dacey landed a shot, the crowd went Boo! And whenever Diana landed a shot, the crowd went Yay!
It was truly spectacular to listen to as the crowd showed their appreciation for the match by actively participating in it in such a way. While this had happened on big promotions with established stars, this was the first time it happened in LWC.
Boo!
Yay!
Boo!
Yay!
Boo!
Yay!
Boooo! Boooo! Boooo!
Dacey emerged as the victor of that slugfest when she decided to forego punches and just knee Diana in her injured abdomen. This elicited a strong response from the crowd as well in the form of incessant booing.
Dacey followed it with a series of knees, almost folding Diana into two. Dacey had an innate tendency to irritate the crowd at the wrong moment. Whenever the crowd was truly enjoying anything, she would do something to derail it.
Dacey then followed up with a gut-wrench side slam almost knocking the wind out of Diana once again. However, she too was spent. Attacking took more energy than defending. And Dacey had been on the offense for most of the match.
She tried to lift Diana up for a suplex with unsteady legs, but Diana countered it by locking her legs with Dacey’s. Frustrated, Dacey beat Diana’s back a few times and went for the suplex once more.
However, Diana countered it with her own suplex. This caused the crowd to roar in enjoyment. Any punishment given to Dacey truly made them happy. So, whenever Dacey took a bump, the crowd would cheer for it.
Diana then mounted her offense on Dacey for a minute or so. She delivered clotheslines, body checks, running high knee, and a few others to take control of the match.
The crowd was behind her every moment of that offense.
At last, Diana set Dacey up for her finishing maneuver, the Heavenly Rotation. Just when the crowd got all worked up to see the end, Dacey started to viciously slam her elbows on Diana’s back, which had been worked on for the entire match.
This caused Diana to let her down. Dacey took that opportunity and pushed Diana from behind, sending her right into the referee. Diana slammed into the referee sending him crashing into the corner and knocking him out.
Seeing both Diana and the referee down, Dacey did something that confused a lot of people at that moment. Dacey didn’t attack Diana. Rather, she hastily got out of the ring and came to the ringside table where the bell, belt, and a few chairs were kept.
Dacey started rummaging there, trying to find something. She picked up a chair and started walking back. But, suddenly stopped and looked over. The LWC Championship Belt was sitting there on the table.
With a smirk on her face, Dacey threw the chair away and picked up the belt. By now, the crowd had truly caught onto what Dacey was intending to do. They started booing her. But, Dacey flipped them off and got inside the ring with the championship belt.
She lined up Diana for the shot and waited for her to turn around. Diana was now checking on the referee to see if he was fine after the crash. Diana turned around and Dacey ran at her with the belt.
At the last moment, Diana ducked and escaped the shot. Dacey missed and angrily turned around. Diana stood in front of her wagging her finger. It was as if she expected such a thing to happen.
The crowd cheered seeing that Diana was wise to Dacey’s heinous tactics. When Dacey tried to attack again, Diana disarmed her with a big boot to her face. The championship was sent flying.
Diana picked up the championship and looked at Dacey. There was hesitation in her eyes as she struggled with whether or not to use it. The crowd waited anxiously for her decision.
However, at the last moment, Diana threw the championship away and turned around to face Dacey. It was as if she was telling the crowd that she didn’t need the championship to beat Dacey.
The crowd truly supported this decision by cheering her on.
Dacey got up and turned around. Diana immediately picked her up and delivered a devastating Heavenly Rotation on her causing the crowd to go nuts. They knew the match had ended when Diana hit the Heavenly Rotation on Dacey.
Diana hurriedly covered Dacey and waited for the three count. But, nothing came. Diana looked over in confusion and saw the referee just stirring. Exasperated, Diana left the cover and dragged the referee near Dacey.
She once more covered Dacey. And the referee started counting slowly, as he was still woozy from the crash.
One...
Two...
Thr.....
At the last moment, Dacey raised her shoulders causing the count to fail. Diana looked frustrated with the set of events. The crowd showed their disappointment by booing.
Diana looked at the referee pleadingly, but the referee was adamant that it wasn’t a three count. However, Diana didn’t waste much time. She once again picked up Dacey and set her up for the Heavenly Rotation.
The crowd went wild as they realized that the second Heavenly Rotation was on the books. They knew the moment Diana hit this, the match would end. And the referee was now up as well.
Diana started positioning Dacey for the finisher. However, Dacey too knew that if this was hit, she would be doomed. So, Dacey struggled hard trying to get out of it. In the end, she escaped by climbing down the back.
The crowd jeered to show their disappointment.
However, what Dacey did next really shocked the crowd. Dacey who has escaped the Heavenly Rotation, used her position as an advantage and rolled up Diana. As Diana’s shoulders were down, the referee started the count.
One...
Diana tried to overpower Dacey and kick out. Dacey desperately tried to increase the leverage. In the end, she put her foot on the ropes and leveraged further.
Two...
The crowd went nuts as they realized that Dacey was cheating once again. It was clear that Dacey’s foot was using the bottom rope as leverage. It was essentially a Rope Break situation. However, the referee’s view was obstructed by the two bodies.
Three...
The crowd went ballistic as they realized that Dacey has won the match. She had essentially stolen the title. But, the pinfall had been real and that meant, Dacey was the new LWC Women’s Champion.
Diana sat up in disbelief and anger as she started arguing with the referee’s ruling. She knew from the suddenly increased leverage that Dacey had used the ropes, so she was trying to tell him that Dacey had cheated.
However, the referee was having none of it. His view was obstructed and he didn’t see Dacey using the ropes. To him, that was a plain three count and it essentially made Dacey the winner.
While Diana was arguing with the referee, Dacey had hightailed out of the ring with the championship belt. She ran to the entranceway and stood there with the belt in her hands.
Diana was completely pissed off. She couldn’t accept this result. She tried to argue with the referee, but it was in vain. The referee refused to recall the decision. And he ordered the announcer to announce the championship change.
He turned to look at Dacey and saw her standing in the entranceway with the belt. He looked around confused for a moment, but the announcer started announcing the result.
"And the winner of this match, by pinfall, Dacey Surestone!!!"
The announcer’s voice said ending the debate once and for all. The crowd was apocalyptic with this result. They discussed heatedly amongst themselves how Dacey had surely cheated and the win shouldn’t count at all.
They were completely behind Diana and they felt the referee was really being unfair. But, there was nothing they could do. And the moment the announcer announced the result, it completely sunk into them that Dacey has practically stolen the belt.
The moment the announcer announced the result, the crowd started booing angrily. Meanwhile, Dacey stood proudly on top of the entrance ramp and raised her new championship with no sense of shame, causing the boos to get even louder.
Diana stood watching Dacey with a devastated but angry expression on her. She really couldn’t believe that she was cheated out of the title. She stared coldly at Dacey, who was posing with the title, that was rightfully hers, on the entrance ramp.
Dacey didn’t stop needling the crowd even at that moment. She raised the championship above her head with one hand and used the other to flip the crowd off. This caused massive outrage in the crowd.
However, Dacey didn’t wait for Diana to come down. When she saw Diana marching her way toward her, Dacey hightailed it out of the arena in a prompt manner.
Diana followed her and stormed into the backstage area, leaving the crowd guessing what was going to happen next in this story between Dacey and Diana.

"She stole the title! She stole the title!" Dallas shouted heatedly into the mic on the commentary table. "I can’t believe it. The audacity! The sheer nerve! To do something like this in front of all these people! Despicable! My opinion of DaceySurestone has reached a record low!"
"What are you talking about Dallas? The Goddess won the title fair and square!" Rob rebutted as if he didn’t see anything strange at all. "She pinned Diana Wharton to the mat and the referee counted one, two, and three. Match over. New champion."
"You call that a pin?" Dallas raged. "Did you not see her legs leveraging against the ropes? That is the single most disgusting thing I have ever seen on live TV. No one, I repeat, no one has been so shameless like Dacey Surestone in the history of professional wrestling!"
"You are just unreconciled that Diana lost the title Dallas. No need to spray mud on the Goddess because Diana couldn’t hack it," Rob didn’t relent. "What are you even talking about? The Goddess went to battle for over 20 mins and finally won the match."
"I will give credit where it is due. Diana Wharton fought valiantly. But, in the end, she was no match for the Goddess. The Goddess defeated her and became the new LWC Women’s Champion, just like she told all of us a few days ago," Rob said smugly.
"Yes, it was a great match. But, as usual, Dacey Surestone had to go and ruin anything beautiful. This was by far the best match of Dacey Surestone’s career and she knew that she wasn’t in the same league as Diana when it came to the end. So, she decided to be despicable and cheat to win. How can you even defend that?" Dallas asked outraged.
"I don’t know what you are talking about Dallas. The Goddess pinned Diana for the three count. The referee performed the three count. What is there not to understand that the Goddess won within the rules," Rob once again spoke clearly sidestepping the foot on the roof.
"Unbelievable, just unbelievable," Dallas muttered in exasperated anger.

"Well, the drinks on you folks," Malora said smugly as she watched Diana chase after Dacey into the backstage area.
"No way!!! It can’t be allowed. She clearly cheated!!!" Jason said not reconciled with the outcome of the match.
"Obviously, duh, but she still got the pin. And that is what counts," Malora said sweetly.
"You! You!" Jason pointed his finger at Malora and spluttered as if he couldn’t believe what was happening.
He turned around and sought support from his friends, but none of them was forthcoming.
"She is right, Jason," Logan said. "The referee announced the result. I don’t think it could be reversed now."
"True," Todd said with a thoughtful look on his face. "You see, inside the ring, the referee’s decision or his call is final. Unless another referee had come out and overthrew that decision within the next minute, whatever call the referee made will be final."
"That means, Dacey Surestone is now officially the LWC Women’s Champion," Nelson said shaking his head. "Where did he even come up with this finish?"
While such a finish was common and often used in a parallel time and space, in this world and reality, this was the first time something like this happened. And many people couldn’t wrap their heads around it like Jason.
"I think he read through the pro-wrestling rulebook with the sole intent of finding the loopholes," Todd chuckled, but there was a little admiration in his eyes as well. "He read all the rules, found the loopholes, and is using them to push Dacey. Unbelievable! If this continues, Dacey would become the most prolific cheater in the business."
"True, and you had to admit. This kind of sneaky stuff absolutely suits Dacey’s negative character like a fitted glove. It will make the crowd hate her more but be unable to do anything," Nelson said marveling at the genius of such an idea.
"You seem impressed, boss," Malora said snidely.
"Obviously, why wouldn’t I? Do you know how many tickets this is going to sell when Dacey and Diana face off the next time? The expectation for Diana to beat the crap out of Dacey would be at an all-time high. That is good business from my point of view," Nelson explained causing others to look up in shock as if it has just now registered in their minds.
"I heard that their next PPV was an extreme special," Todd said rubbing his chin.
"You mean, the next time they face off, Dacey and Diana are going to be in an extreme rules match? Oh boy, this is even better. That damn man knows how to market things," Nelson said admiringly. "How many tickets do you think would sell in the next day if they announced Dacey vs Diana in an extreme rules match?"
"With how the crowd hates Dacey now, I reckon almost half the tickets would be sold out at the minimum within the next day," Todd said in wonder.
"Exactly, he has already sold out half the tickets for their next special. If the other matches could pull their weight, they could do a lot more and fill up a bigger arena as well," Nelson said making Todd look at him sharply.
"Man, I don’t understand all this business stuff. But, I am really pissed that Diana was cheated out of the title," Logan said grumbling from the side.
"Me too," Jason nodded along. "I don’t think I could forget this match in my entire life."
"Is it because of the match, or the ending, or because Dacey poured beer on your head?" Malora asked with a snide smile.
"All of them," Jason didn’t shy away.
"At least you are honest," Malora said shaking her head and looking away. A smile was threatening to split across her face.
"Count me in, this match was great. I just wished the finish would have been cleaner," Logan said grumbling as well.
"Well, I for one think the finish is great," Malora said proudly and looked away causing the other two to eye her a little dissatisfiedly.
"I agree, the finish was perfect from a storytelling point of view. It keeps the story going and also doesn’t make it look like Diana lost. This will in turn make an entertaining story," Todd said as his mind started firing on all cylinders.
"It’s good business," Nelson shrugged and looked over at the ring hoping the next match was as interesting as this one was.
