"Stop."

Alex’s body instantly stiffened at the sudden voice behind him. He turned around immediately to see who the owner of the voice was... and froze in awe when he saw the person’s full appearance.

It was an extremely beautiful woman in a dazzling black dress that perfectly complemented her full hourglass figure that could make almost all the men in the world completely lose their mind.

Her most striking feature however, was her exquisitely beautiful, almost otherworldly face, with sharp elegant amber eyes framed by long dark lashes, a straight nose and heart-shaped red lips that looked flawless.

For a second he almost forgot about the excruciatingly sharp pain at his side as he continued to stare at the dazzling beauty in front of him. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his life, with the icy school beauty Jade coming second.

Alex snapped himself out of his daze and shifted his attention to the other person standing behind the otherworldly beauty.

It was a baby-faced girl, maybe around eighteen or nineteen years old, with a petite frame, pale smooth skin and shoulder length blonde hair that moved gently in the wind.

However, the baby-faced girl exuded a cold icy aura that contrasted sharply with her cute appearance. She met his gaze with an indifferent face that made his body tremble with a bone-chilling fear.

Though she might not have looked it, this cute baby-faced girl radiated unfathomable power. Whether it was his instinct or something else entirely, every fibre of his being was warning him to avoid provoking the cute girl.

The star-struck chibi who had since been ogling the beautiful woman like a shameless little pervert followed his gaze and noticed the baby-faced girl.

The beautiful woman glanced around at the unconscious bodies scattered across the ground with interest and slowly walked toward him.

"... Interesting. I never really thought that a pretty face like you would manage to beat my subordinates. It is truly surprising."

Alex mind raced.

’Wait! So she is the owner of the casino. Shit! This is bad, like really bad. I am pretty sure that with that formidable baby-faced girl behind her my fate is pretty much sealed, especially when I am in no condition to fight.

Well it’s not like I might have even had a chance of winning the fight even when I was not injured.’

Alex forced himself to calm down, and glanced at the beautiful woman again. He wondered if the issue might be salvageable. Even though she was the casino owner, maybe nothing too bad would really happen. Right?

Alex cleared his throat and said coolly.

"Well it’s not my fault that I did what I did. I just won the game fair and square, and all I wanted was my money, but they tried to take me somewhere for ’A friendly talk’ " he responded while air quoting the last word.

A soft mesmerizing chuckle escaped from her lips.

"Haha. You really have some guts to do what you just did. Though I don’t approve of what my men wanted to do to you, I will still punish them. After all, I am not an unreasonable person. But that doesn’t mean I will let what you just did slide."

Alex’s nerves, which had relaxed when he heard the first part of her speech, immediately tightened again.

What the hell did she mean by won’t let it slide?

She continued, but this time her eyes turned cold and the tone of her voice became sharper.

"And yes I did say I would punish them but that doesn’t give you the right to severely injure my people and demand that my manager pays you double of what you won."

Alex cursed under his breath for even bothering to believe that the casino owner would even punish those bastards without coming after him too. Didn’t he already look like someone at death’s door with the amount of blood still seeping out of his makeshift bandage.

Why couldn’t she just let it slide? After all, it wasn’t really his fault. But trying to reason with someone like her seemed futile.

"So what are you going to do to me then?"

"Oh, It’s nothing much. I’ll just have all of your left fingers cut off for hitting my people and maybe cut off your tongue as an added bonus for daring to ask for double of your winnings as compensation, but rest assured I won’t hold your money back."

Alex’s eyes immediately widened.

"What the f*ck! You call cutting off my tongue and fingers nothing much?!" 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

How could she think that cutting off his tongue and fingers was a small deal. No! He couldn’t accept that. For Christ sake he was a man who just got reborn, okay! Now some mysterious beautiful woman was calmly telling him that she was going to mutilate him.

No normal person would agree to that.

The casino owner calmly replied.

"You should even be lucky that I am in a good mood today, if not I would have made your punishment much worse."

Alex shook his head disagreeing with her. He wasn’t willing to lose any body parts.

The casino owners smiled coldly.

"I don’t think you get it. I am not negotiating with you, I am just telling you what will happen... But there is still another way I can pardon you."

"What way?!" He responded immediately. Like a thirsty man who after three days without water in the desert had just seen water.

The smile on her lips deepened slightly when she saw the faint flicker of hope that rose in his eyes.

"You will work for me. It’s as simple as that."

Alex blinked. Work for her? That sounded good but there was one quick problem with that. He didn’t want to work for anyone ever again. Especially after what had happened in his previous life.

Plus from the way she carried herself, he knew that she wasn’t some small time casino owner. She had to be some big shot with a dangerous history, and Alex wasn’t ready to be part of that.

He tried to speak but she cut him off.

"I need someone like you with skills. Don’t think I wasn’t informed about how you used fifteen dollars to win about five million dollars."

"And what if I refuse?" He asked carefully.

The casino owner looked at him with a lazy gaze.

"If you refuse... Then we proceed with the original arrangement. After all, I am a very fair person."

Alex felt a chill crawl down his spine. Fair? There was nothing fair about any of this?!
