Campus Ace Girl-Chapter 469 - 470: What do I have to fear, Congwen?
So Gu Anxi and Chen Ming continued their practice session, while Bo Xichen chatted with King Jingyao.
Others didn’t fully understand or have a clear grasp, but the Secretary-General knew King Jingyao’s intentions well from start to finish. Seeing the Bo Family’s future Family Head remain calm and composed, he couldn’t help but sigh inwardly: If the Bo Family didn’t engage in politics, who knows how formidable this man would be!
This was also why King Jingyao had always admired Bo Xichen. His admiration did not decrease in the slightest because of Gu Anxi. The two chatted while watching Gu Anxi shoot.
After an hour, Chen Ming was utterly conquered!
He was filled with immense admiration!
In the end, it was Bo Xichen who called Gu Anxi over. "That’s enough, or your hand will hurt tomorrow."
She obediently said, "Oh," and only then did she seem to notice King Jingyao. "King Jingyao."
King Jingyao scoffed. "There’s no one else here; just call me brother."
Without paying her any further mind, he spoke directly to Bo Xichen, "Perfect timing. You two can come with me to visit the old lady in a bit. She keeps asking about that little rascal."
Bo Xichen chuckled softly and agreed.
Gu Anxi, wiping her sweat with a towel, didn’t object.
Shen Congwen, standing to one side, was stunned—
So Gu Anxi really has been accepted into the Wang Family. Not only does the old lady dote on her, but King Jingyao also clearly adores her.
There was no mistaking that look in his eyes just now.
Zhou Yunchen merely glanced at him and said nothing until King Jingyao and Bo Xichen, along with Chen Ming and Gu Anxi, had left.
Only the two of them and Zhang Niuniu remained on the field.
Yellow Hair scratched his head. "I’m going home to play games. President Zhou, you and Vice President Shen can have a good chat."
Zhou Yunchen just glared at Yellow Hair.
Yellow Hair scurried away.
Once he was gone, Zhou Yunchen sat down, chuckling. "Why did he run off so fast?" 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
He then added, "Is he afraid of me? What’s there to be afraid of about me, wouldn’t you agree, Congwen?"
Shen Congwen pursed his lips, flicking his gaze up at Zhou Yunchen but saying nothing.
Zhou Yunchen didn’t press the topic further. He pulled Shen Congwen up. "Alright then, let’s play for a bit."
He loaded ten or so magazines and passed a gun to Shen Congwen. "Care for a match?"
"And the stakes?" Shen Congwen neither agreed nor disagreed, loading his magazine with an air of distraction.
Zhou Yunchen raised an eyebrow. "You name them."
Shen Congwen raised the gun, aimed, then tilted his head. "If I win, you are not to proactively appear before me again."
Zhou Yunchen moved behind him, reached over, and held his hand to aim together. "What if your aim is off?"
Shen Congwen gritted his teeth. "That’s my business."
"So, win or lose, it has nothing to do with me anymore? Are you that determined to sever our friendship?" Zhou Yunchen’s voice was extremely low. "We’re grown men. Still acting as unreasonable as a child? What kind of logic is that, hmm?"
Shen Congwen’s throat visibly relaxed a little. "Since when have you ever been a man of reason?"
"Now you’re maligning me," Zhou Yunchen chuckled lightly. "If I were truly unreasonable, do you think you’d be standing here talking to me so calmly?"
With that, he stepped back slightly, a faint smile on his face. "Alright. If I lose, I unconditionally promise not to bother you. If you lose, let’s have a meal together. I didn’t bring my wallet."
Shen Congwen was somewhat surprised that he would be so agreeable, but he quickly composed himself—
His fair, well-defined fingers squeezed the trigger.
A perfect ten-ring shot.
Zhou Yunchen clapped. "Motivation certainly makes a difference!"
He leaned in, smiling gently. "Continue..."
