Chapter 470: Chapter 471: You’re Not Allowed to Like Him!

Shen Congwen’s heart quivered, and so did his wrist. His shot went wide, surprisingly only scoring a six.

Zhou Yunchen chuckled. "Letting me win on purpose?"

Shen Congwen pressed his lips together. "I was careless."

He focused, much more careful as he raised his gun again...

Ten points.

He glanced sideways at Zhou Yunchen, a pleased smile touching his lips. "How about that?"

Zhou Yunchen leaned a bit too close, his voice husky. "Truly outstanding."

Shen Congwen’s heart skipped a beat. He didn’t dare listen to Zhou Yunchen’s nonsense any longer and, focusing, fired off several ten-point shots in a row.

When it was Zhou Yunchen’s turn, he shot casually, almost without aiming, and naturally lost to Shen Congwen.

But his overly casual demeanor made Shen Congwen’s expression darken. "Were you deliberately losing to me?"

Zhou Yunchen asked quizzically, "If I win, you’re annoyed. If I let you win, you’re still annoyed. Congwen, aren’t you a bit too difficult to please?"

Shen Congwen bit his lip, said nothing, and simply raised his hand to shoot again.

After Shen Congwen went through a few more magazines, Zhou Yunchen stopped him. "That’s enough. Your delicate hands will be sore tomorrow."

Shen Congwen silently put down the gun.

Zhou Yunchen chuckled again. "Alright, let’s go eat."

He grabbed his jacket and, also taking Shen Congwen’s, familiarly led him to an expensive restaurant, where he proceeded to order extravagantly.

Although Shen Congwen usually lived a rather refined life, this level of extravagance was rare for him. But he kept quiet, hoping that as long as Zhou Yunchen was happy, he would stop bothering him.

When it was time to pay, Zhou Yunchen leaned against the cashier’s counter, lazily watching Shen Congwen foot the bill.

The dinner cost over 30,000.

It wasn’t that Shen Congwen was stingy; he just felt Zhou Yunchen was doing this on purpose.

That man is just plain bad, rotten to the core.

Shen Congwen paid the bill and turned around. "We’ve eaten, Mr. Zhou."

Zhou Yunchen grabbed his arm. "Mr. Zhou? So formal. You don’t think this was a farewell dinner, do you?"

"Isn’t it?" Shen Congwen retorted, somewhat irritated.

Zhou Yunchen grinned. "If you say so. But just because I don’t look for you doesn’t mean you can’t look for me."

Shen Congwen clenched his teeth. "I won’t be looking for you."

Zhou Yunchen laughed. "Is that so?"

Shen Congwen didn’t want to deal with him anymore. He turned and walked straight to the parking lot, opened the door of his white BMW, and got in.

But Zhou Yunchen followed, sliding into the seat beside him.

Greatly annoyed, Shen Congwen snapped, "Zhou Yunchen, what exactly do you want?"

The other man buckled his seatbelt, leaned back, and closed his eyes. "I’ve had a bit to drink. Take me home."

Shen Congwen didn’t answer, just quietly observed the shameless man.

In the dim light, the man’s profile looked even more profound and handsome. With his eyes quietly closed, he had a very harmless air about him...

Just as Shen Congwen was about to start the car, Zhou Yunchen cracked open his eyes. "What are you staring at me for?"

"Nothing," Shen Congwen answered indifferently, then started the car.

The car was quiet; neither of them spoke. Outside, occasional headlights swept through the interior... The play of light and shadow was mesmerizing, like a dream.

Zhou Yunchen fell asleep in the car.

His sleep had always been poor, but now, relaxed, he actually fell asleep.

Shen Congwen’s phone rang. He picked it up. "Hello, Dad."

After listening to what the person on the other end said, he murmured that he understood and would be back soon.

Hanging up the phone, he felt a headache coming on... Zhou Yunchen, however, had somehow woken up and was looking at him. "What’s wrong?"

Shen Congwen spoke softly, "I need to go to my parents’ place for a bit. You... could you take a taxi?"

"Then I’ll go with you. You can drive me back to the city later," Zhou Yunchen said, unfazed.

"I’m staying over at my parents’ place tonight," Shen Congwen stated calmly.

"Do they have a spare room?" Zhou Yunchen closed his eyes again. "Congwen, I’ve been working on a project for days and haven’t slept much. I don’t want to go to any more trouble. You figure it out."

Shen Congwen was practically helpless against him. After a moment’s thought, he turned the car onto a different road.

「An hour later」

The car stopped in front of his parents’ villa. Shen Congwen got out, his posture naturally pleasing to the eye. He went to the other side, opened the car door, and whispered, "Zhou Yunchen, get out. When you see my parents in a bit, don’t say anything reckless."

"When have I ever said anything reckless?" Zhou Yunchen replied, somewhat languidly.

He had last seen Father Shen and Mother Shen back in university. Zhou Yunchen was exceptionally good at seizing opportunities and currying favor. The Shen family was well-off, and Father Shen often visited Shen Congwen during their university days. Zhou Yunchen had freeloaded off them for meals more than a few times, so he was no stranger to the Shen family.

After he spoke, Shen Congwen glanced at him and walked ahead.

His slender figure, dressed in a white shirt and black trousers, looked exceptionally cultured and distinguished. Especially his waist—it was so slim it seemed almost too fragile.

Zhou Yunchen walked behind him with a smile, taking a few satisfying drags from a cigarette before extinguishing it.

He quickened his pace to catch up, and they entered the living room together.

In the high-ceilinged hall, the lighting was warm, and the atmosphere was quite nice.

This was because, aside from the three members of the Shen family, there was also a very pretty young girl present, whom Shen Congwen’s younger sister, Shen Jun, had brought home.

When Shen Jun saw her older brother return, she immediately dragged her classmate over. "Brother, this is West Asia, my classmate from my department."

So it’s a blind date, more or less, Shen Congwen thought, understanding immediately.

The girl’s face turned a little red when she saw him.

Shen Jun leaned in and whispered, her voice low, "She really likes you, Brother. What do you think?"

Zhou Yunchen overheard them talking, but he first greeted the elders.

Father Shen was very fond of him and had the staff pour tea, and they chatted together.

"Yun Chen, your career is doing so well now, you should have someone to take care of you," Father Shen said with a smile, then glanced at his younger daughter.

Zhou Yunchen sat there, his long fingers rubbing his forehead. "Mm... I have someone I like. We have a very good relationship."

Father Shen was surprised, then he looked at Shen Congwen.

Shen Congwen was also quite surprised. When did Zhou Yunchen get a girlfriend?

His surprise was mirrored by Shen Jun, whose eyes dimmed. She whispered, "Brother, when did Big Brother Zhou get a girlfriend?"

And their relationship is great, too! she thought, crestfallen.

"I’m not too sure," Shen Congwen said with a faint smile.

"Brother, aren’t you really close to him?" Shen Jun pressed, having completely forgotten about her classmate.

It was only then that Shen Congwen realized his sister’s intentions. He warned her in a low voice, "You’re not allowed to like him. Do you hear me?"

"Why not?" Shen Jun muttered.

Shen Congwen’s tone was harsh. "Because he’s... a bit old."

"Mature men know how to take care of people!"

"He doesn’t know how to take care of anyone! And he’s shameless. He makes you pay when you go out shopping, makes you pay for meals... You still want to be with him?" Shen Congwen scoffed.

His sister looked unconvinced. "He’s like that?"
