Campus Ace Girl-Chapter 562 - 563: You Can Save This Money If You Could Just Be Gentle
Gu Anxi crawled out from under the covers, tousling her messy hair. "Why are they looking for me so early in the morning?"
Was it Min Xin? Did he go crazy last night and accidentally hurt Zhou Yu?
Madam Bo’s expression was indescribable. "It’s already half-past ten."
"I slept for that long?" Gu Anxi yawned and took the phone. On the other end was an elderly maid who had come with Zhou Yu as part of her dowry. She very politely said that Madame Min wished to invite Gu Anxi over for a physical therapy session in the afternoon.
Gu Anxi agreed, tossed the phone aside, and leaned against Madam Bo’s shoulder, looking like she was ready to fall asleep again.
While tidying the bed, Madam Bo worriedly pinched Gu Anxi’s cheek. "Why do you still look so listless? Are you pregnant?"
Gu Anxi shot up. "No, absolutely not!"
Madam Bo watched the little rascal dash into the bathroom, shook her head with a smile, finished making the bed, and surveyed her work with satisfaction. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
At breakfast this morning, Xichen had recounted ZaiZai’s latest exploits, but Madam Bo had dismissed them. ZaiZai is destined for great things; what do these clueless men understand!
When Gu Anxi emerged from the bathroom, Madam Bo asked, "Are we eating at home, or shall we go to their place?"
"Let’s eat at home," Gu Anxi said after a moment’s thought. "That Min fellow is bound to be there. I wouldn’t be able to eat a bite with him hovering around."
Madam Bo chuckled. "You make him sound like he’d eat people."
Gu Anxi retorted playfully, "He can’t eat me, but he’d eat Sister Zhou."
She added, a hint of admiration in her voice, "Sister Zhou is truly beautiful."
Madam Bo mused for a moment, then smiled. "Zhou Yu is indeed stunning. She’s younger than I am, and among her peers back then, she was outstanding. I just don’t understand why she married Min Xin."
Gu Anxi ticked off points on her pale fingers. "Actually, her judgment wasn’t bad. That Min fellow is capable. It’s just... he had low self-esteem, and that’s how he ended up becoming such a simp today."
She added quietly, "Look at the Old Master and Old Madam Bo—their marriage also crossed social divides. But the Old Master turned into a complete softie, and the Old Madam, a lady from a prestigious family, dotes on him, indulges him in everything, like spoiling a child."
Madam Bo chuckled. "That’s how he is now. The Old Master wasn’t so simple back then. Otherwise, if he had truly held her back, how could they have produced such a cunning son as King Jingyao?"
Gu Anxi pondered this and had to agree. Min Xin really could try harder.
After lunch, she drove to the Min residence. To her surprise, she saw Gu Mingzhu at the gate.
Gu Mingzhu looked like she was trying to get in to see someone, but the gatekeeper clearly had no intention of letting her pass.
Gu Anxi’s car slowly pulled up beside Gu Mingzhu’s, and the window glided down.
Gu Mingzhu turned her head, saw Gu Anxi, and anger flared within her. "Gu Anxi, what are you doing here? Are you trying to curry favor with another powerful family?"
Gu Anxi was direct. "I’m here to give Madame Min her physical therapy session."
She paused, then added, "But Gu Mingzhu, I genuinely advise you not to come here again. The Min Family is out of your league."
Once you get involved, the higher you climb, the harder you’ll fall!
Gu Mingzhu curled her lip. "Oh, really, Gu Anxi? If you only knew that I am..."
"An illegitimate child?" Gu Anxi removed her sunglasses, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Gu Mingzhu, if I were you, I’d stay far away from the Min Family."
Because Min Xin only has one true love, and that’s Zhou Yu.
As for anyone else—whether it’s the women he’s toyed with or an illegitimate child like Gu Mingzhu—he couldn’t care less. He’d use them if they were advantageous, use them to shield him from a bullet, without a second thought.
This man is so deranged he’s lost all sense of morality. All he cares about is power—and Zhou Yu!
She had said her piece. It wasn’t her problem if Gu Mingzhu refused to listen.
Putting her sunglasses back on, she drove into the Min estate and parked in a designated spot.
As Gu Anxi stepped out of the car, she saw the villa was heavily guarded, with layers of security both inside and out. Forget a person, not even a bird could fly out of there. And just as she’d expected, Min Xin, that scumbag, was home.
Gu Anxi walked straight in. As she reached the entrance, a bodyguard suddenly lunged at her—
She scoffed, executed a spinning kick, and sent him sprawling to the ground.
Another bodyguard immediately moved to take his place. Before he could even make a move, a thin red line appeared on his neck.
"Be good now, don’t move. Move again, and your neck will snap," Gu Anxi said lightly, gently pushing the man aside as she strolled inside.
In the opulent living room, Min Xin was seated on the sofa. Seeing her enter, he clapped slowly. "Impressive skills."
"They’re alright, I suppose," Gu Anxi said, flicking her hair. "Enough to ensure I can leave Mr. Min’s presence in one piece."
Min Xin’s eyes glinted ominously. "And what about the Bo Family? With so many of them, high and low, can they all retreat safely?"
Gu Anxi replied nonchalantly with an "Oh?" "Is that so? Well then, Mr. Min, by all means, make your move. Only then will we know if it’ll work, won’t we?"
Min Xin narrowed his eyes. "Do you truly believe I wouldn’t dare?"
"Oh, you dare, alright," Gu Anxi said, plopping down unceremoniously in the seat opposite him. "But you don’t stand a chance of winning, do you?"
She grinned. "Actually, if it weren’t for my big brother, I really wouldn’t dare to provoke you."
Min Xin was visibly irritated. "Mr. Wang might not necessarily oppose me just for your sake."
Gu Anxi nodded knowingly. "He wouldn’t be too willing, no. But if he refuses, then he’d have to move in here with you, do your laundry, cook your meals, spoon-feed you..."
Min Xin looked utterly disgusted.
Gu Anxi, however, seemed quite pleased. "Really, what’s the big deal? So your wife mentioned divorce once. You’re overreacting so much, anyone would think you’re deeply in love with her!"
Min Xin was seething, glaring at her.
Gu Anxi continued, "Outsiders might not know, but we understand you perfectly. You don’t love her at all. You have a flock of women on the side, you forbid your wife from having children, you force your way in every aspect of her life... Oh, right, and you have your offspring out there waiting for you to acknowledge them."
Min Xin’s fingers clenched, the knuckles cracking audibly.
Gu Anxi widened her large, innocent-looking eyes. "Angry already? With all the things you’ve done, things Sister Zhou has to hear about and witness every day, wouldn’t she have died of anger long ago?"
Min Xin was at the end of his rope. "I invited you here to give Zhou Yu her physical therapy and to try and persuade her, not to provoke me!"
Gu Anxi beamed. "Alright. But I’m quite expensive, you know."
She took out a calculator, her fingers flying across the keypad with a series of TAPS.
Min Xin seized the moment to bark at the bodyguard, "Useless oaf! Go to the gate and get rid of that person."
The bodyguard gulped and immediately hurried out to send the person away.
After giving his orders, Min Xin turned back. The little imp showed him the calculator display: "1,260,000 per hour."
Min Xin winced at the price but said nothing, merely waving a hand. "Go on up and see her."
Gu Anxi stood up, dusted off her clothes, and muttered to herself, "If only he’d been a bit gentler, offered some comfort afterward, he could have saved this 1,260,000, couldn’t he?"
Min Xin ignored her, but a pang of guilt pricked him.
He was indeed, as Gu Anxi had said, somewhat rough and inconsiderate.
But he had been like this for years. He had assumed Zhou Yu had grown accustomed to it, but...
