Celestial Speed: Legacy-Chapter 47: Axel

"Omg! It’s so cute!" Alicia screamed as she carefully snatched the Cheetah cub out of Henry’s hand.

The previous day after Henry had gone back to the hotel to take a shower and rest, he contacted Alicia and told her that he had a surprise for her. Now they were in a small technological workshop located inside Jane’s mansion.

"Where did you get it?" she asked, snuggling the helpless beast

Henry sighed. "I knew she would like pets," he muttered to himself

"I took it off the mother... well out of the mother," he replied

Alicia raised an eyebrow, to which Henry sighed again. She wanted to know the whole truth

"Fine! I was going to ask your opinion anyway," Henry muttered and brought a large beast corpse out of his ’Storage ring’. It was the body of the Sonic and it now layed on a flat platform. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Alicia adjusted her glasses and began to scrutinize the corpse. "Hmm, interesting," she stated while still holding on to the cub, it didn’t look like she was going to let it go anytime soon.

Henry just stared at her as she observed the beast, a thought suddenly came to his head and he didn’t hesitate to let it out

"Hm, nerd." he whispered with a chuckle

"What was that?" Alicia said, shifting her gaze towards Henry.

Henry quickly acquired a serious look. "Nothing... I was only admiring the body as well," he said

"Hm hm, well it is admirable," she replied before poking the corpse with her finger.

"You certainly hit the jackpot, this is the Sapphire Sonic, one of the rarest and fascinating Galactic beasts specie ever known," Alicia explained, as she began rocking the little cheetah cub like a baby.

"It is the only one known to never disintegrate after death due to it’s speed abilities. Though the scientists still don’t know how, but it is a very special type,"

"Anytime a sonic shows up, no matter what rank it’s at, the beast always put up a fight and due to it’s speed and stamina, they are always hard to defeat. The last sonic recorded to appear from a portal was 10 years ago so yeah this is definitely a jackpot." She stated before taking her seat on a chair behind her to further rock the small beast.

Henry had a look of understanding, but he was grinning inwardly. "I knew you were special sonic. And that means you would become special as well little sonic," he thought as he stared at the cub that was still sleeping in Alicia’s hands.

"But tell me, however did you defeat a C-Rank sonic? It’s nearly impossible as the accelerating speed of the beast should be at least 1500km/hr," Alicia asked looking into Henry’s eyes, as if trying to get the information out of it.

But that was exactly what she was trying to do. By looking into his eyes she could focus on his heartbeat and brain waves signals, thus finding out when he told a lie. Her ability was just that terrifying and Henry knew this.

"It wasn’t easy but I had help from the equipments that mother sent to me. And I consumed a few agility serums as well," he replied, making sure to remain composed and calm.

"And besides i didn’t actually kill it, we were just having a race before it got injured by some members of the kraken guild. Then I had to carry it to the borderland and well... i helped deliver her baby, before she could die." Henry added with a smile.

Alicia stared at him for a while before replying. "Okay I believe you," she said after her algorithms had confirmed his vitals, and she had also seen the incisions on the beast’s lower abdomen.

Though she didn’t buy the part of the agility serum, there was no way agility serums could increase a person speed rate. But she didn’t say anything and just let it slide, there were so many things she knew already but... just let it slide.

Henry had indeed told her the entire story, though skipping the running on air part and some other insignificant details.

"But wow! You actually helped a beast in the delivery of her child, that’s nice of you. Guess you’re not so... Emotionless afterall," she added with a smile and rubbed her hands on the small cub

"I’m sorry about your mother little one, but I guess you’ve gotten yourself a new one," she continued before shifting her gaze towards Henry. If only she knew of the plans he had for the little beast.

Henry had a smug smile on his face. "Mother! Me? Absolutely not!" he said inwardly

"Actually that was the second reason I came," he voiced out

Alicia’s interest piqued. "Okay let’s hear it," she muttered

"Well I was thinking, since I know within me that I’m not the type to have someone else to take care of," he began

"I don’t know if it’s allowed or if it’s even normal to have beasts as pets but... i want you to take care of it like it’s yours," Henry stated with a smile.

Alicia remained silent for a while, with no expression on her face. This made Henry conflicted, he didn’t know whether she was cool with it or not.

But a large smile suddenly grew across her face, her eyes were filled with excitement and face brightened.

"Well it’s normal to take magical beasts as companions. Most people have tamed them to use as workforce, hunting partners and even... ordinary pets." she began

"But It’s never been heard for a Galactic beast, Infact he might be the first Galactic beast to be born on out planet. We’ve never seen a baby Galactic beast as well... we’ve never seen a pregnant one either," Alicia stated and lifted the cub closer to her face and snuggled it.

Henry was surprised. "She could already tell that it’s a male," he thought

"I’ll take care of it, and help him develop and become strong. Though it’s sad i can’t take him out in the public since he’s a Galactic beast, but I know a few people i can trust with him."

"Alright that’s great to hear, but remember, you’re just like a caretaker or trainer... It’s still mine," Henry said sharply

Alicia smiled. "Of course, so do you have a name?" she asked

Henry raised an eyebrow, he didn’t think to give the cub a name even though the system had the option to do so. He didn’t deem it necessary to give a name to something he was going to harvest in the future. It was one of the reasons he gave the cub to Alicia, he didn’t want to get attached.

"Well, i guess sonic should be suffice," he voiced out

Alicia frowned. "What kind of mother are you? The general name of the beast is sonic,,and yet you name it sonic. You should be ashamed of yourself," she stated with contempt.

Henry stared at Alicia in the usual pitiful way, looking at her like she had finally gone bonkers. "First don’t call me that, and is a name really necessary?" he said

"Obviously! It’s an important thing, what do you think about Ace or Skye?" Alicia said with her hand on her chin

"I don’t really care, but I still think sonic was cool," Henry muttered with a smug look.

But Alicia didn’t even acknowledge his opinion on the matter. "You’re right! Skye is more feminine, and Ace is too serious. So Axel it is!" she exclaimed

Henry just kept staring at her, she looked kind of cute with her act but he shrugged her off. "I don’t like Axel," he muttered

"It reminds me of so..." he was cut off by a sudden notification from the system

"Not again!" Henry gritted his teeth, but then he sighed. "Axel it is."

Alicia wasn’t even paying attention to him anymore, she was cuddling Axel who seemed to have woken up.

"Who’s a good Axel? You are!" She said with a baby voice, playing with the beast as though it was a human baby.

"Is this normal?" Henry thought. "Who baby-talks to their pets?" he asked in his mind, hoping in his mind that he hadn’t associated with an actual lunatic.

"Hey! Why are you staring at me like that? Do you want some?" Alicia said with a flirtatious smile.

"Some of what? Does your mum know you’re like this?" Henry voiced out

Alicia broadened her smile. "Mum’s... not home," she said and crossed her legs seductively

Henry’s mouth was now wide open, and he didn’t even realize it. "This girl... That wasn’t even what I asked," he thought

"You do realize that teasing me won’t work... So neither would seducing me," he muttered

Alicia frowned. "So you’re telling me that you don’t like me?" she asked

"No! No I don’t," Henry replied with an indifferent expression, after closing his mouth ofcourse.

But instead of questioning him further, Alicia just chuckled. "You really are hard to get, aren’t you?" she asked again

Henry shook his head. "Yes i am, I don’t have the time for something as nonprofitable and delusional as romance," he stated. Even in his past life he never believed in having a romantic companion or even having sex, he saw it all as a distraction.

"Hm, that’s too bad, i hope someone changes your views with a smile, and a kiss that would make you obsessed," Alicia laughed

Henry chuckled. "That’ll never happen, i should get going now. I believe your aunt will meet my demands?" he said

Alicia nodded. "Sure, she will be so happy to finally get her hands on a Sapphire Sonic specimen."

"Alright then I will trust you to acknowledge our deal," Henry muttered and started walking out of the room.

"So you’re just gonna leave me, not even a goodbye or something. You do remember that we have a date, don’t you?" Alicia stated with a sad voice. But Henry knew that she just wanted to delay him and have him stay with her so she could just keep taunting him.

"Goodbye little red." he chuckled and left. Henry couldn’t deny the fact that he enjoyed Alicia’s company, and she enjoyed he’s too. But there were more important things to deal with, no time for distractions.

"I will get stronger... and faster," he muttered before entering his hovercar. After the incident with the members of the kraken guild, he now knew that Mana cell humans were much stronger than he thought.

A woman sat opposite a man in a grand dining room, she had long white hair while the man had black hair and was very muscular.

"Are you sure about this?" the woman asked the man, concern visible in her voice.

The man sighed, with a conflicted look on his face. "I... Actually I don’t know, but if there’s a slight chance i can get to her through what they know, then... I’d be willing to try and even if it gets me killed." he replied and clenched his fist.

This was Felicity and Xavier, having a conversation with each other in Felicity’s house.

"Very well, just don’t die, for all our sake... Well mostly hers," Felicity said before putting a grape in her mouth.

"Oh... Jane and I already spoke. She’s cool with it and so is Janine and the girls," Xavier stated

Felicity swallowed the fruit in her mouth and took a sip of water. "I’m talking about Evelyn. Jane and Janine might be cool with it, but she won’t take it lightly if you were to... you know... Kkk," She said, placing a finger on her neck and bringing it across it, imitating an expression similar to slashing.

Xavier chuckled. "Of course... That’s why I didn’t tell her. It’s better if she doesn’t know, i don’t want to stress an old lady," he said with a smile

Felicity burst into laughter. "Hahaha, old lady? Evelyn? The same woman who fought 50 men at once last year, and lifted a satellite this year? That’s who you call an old lady?"

"Well i mean she might be strong physically but it doesn’t mean her mental fitness is still the same," Xavier defended

Felicity blinked twice and stared at Xavier like he was child underestimating superman. "She fought those men blindfolded Xavier!" she voiced out

Xavier placed his hand at the back of his head, he knew he had lost this debate, he sighed and took a long sip from the cup of wine in front of him.

"You know that the twins and i care about you, but we’re just like sisters to you. Evelyn is your mother, you might have not signed that adoption agreement years ago but... the whole world recognizes you as a Carter and a child of the Amazon queen." Felicity stated

"Guess you’re right, i would let her know. Besides I have a lead already, i should leave tomorrow," Xavier replied

"I’m always right, that’s why I’m the oldest," Felicity said with a proud face. "Wait! You’re leaving so soon, you’re not going to wait for your little apprentice to arrive first?" she asked

"I really can’t waste any more time, and I think Henry is going to be just fine without me. He’s... a talented kid and I can see why you adopted him," Xavier said with a smile

Felicity chuckled but didn’t say anything, she already knew that Henry would be impressive and even knew more things that Xavier didn’t know.

"Plus, we already said our goodbyes. But I hope you didn’t forget what I told about him?" he added

"Right! I didn’t forget, but I will give him time to... get over it. I have so many things planned already, including his education," she giggled like a mischievous witch.

Xavier raised an eyebrow. "You’re not going to do anything... Well what you normally do right?" he asked with concern, but the concern was for Henry.

Felicity grinned. "He’s my son now, which means he’s to get strong one way or the other. So going to an environment where everyone but him possess abilities, he will adapt and survive therefore turning him into a strong man with a strong mind," she explained with a proud smile, she was proud of her plan.

Xavier just shook his head in pity. "Poor kid, i hope you learn to love this woman just like I did," he said in his heart.

"But he’s technically still the youngest child which automatically makes him the favorite. Which means he will get whatever he wants and if anyone dares harm him, whether child or adult, young or old, i will have their head!" Felicity said with conviction.

"Yep, he’s definitely going to love you," Xavier thought with a smile.
