Chapter 230: Amidst The Chaos

Henry woke up in a sour mood after Amy turned away from him while they slept naked the previous night. No matter what he did, he could not convince her to engage in any lovey-dovey moments, leaving him to sleep with a b*ner on.

He had planned to continue his efforts to persuade her in the morning, but when he woke up, Amy was nowhere to be found in their room. Curious, he peeked into the hallway and spotted Demi with one of the maids.

"Uhm, Demi, is Amy already having breakfast?" Henry inquired of his head housekeeper.

"No, sir. Mrs. Welsh actually left a few minutes ago along with everyone else. Only Tony and your security details are here waiting for you," Demi replied.

Henry nodded, he grabbed his phone and dialed Amy’s number. As he waited for her to answer, he could not help but think, ’She is definitely teaching me a lesson...’

After a few unsuccessful attempts, Henry gave up on calling her, realizing she was not answering. Instead, he opted to send her a text message.

Henry: [Love, I deeply apologize for last night. I promise not to tease you anymore. Please don’t avoid me for such a long time. I can’t bear it. I am already suffering. Please forgive me.]

Henry then headed to the bathroom for a quick shower, and to his delight, Amy had already replied by the time he finished. A smile instantly brightened his face.

Amy: [I am not angry. Just teaching you a lesson... See you later. Love you, mwah!]

In the Century Hotel Branch...

"I came in line first!" One of the customers shouted at the other customer.

Two customers arrived almost at the same time at the shop. The hotel which was located in the city center is surrounded by numerous offices, restaurants, and bars. This particular branch of bellory is open round the clock, catering to the customers who worked late hours and those who had just left the nearby bars.

"Hell, you’re absolutely wrong!" the second customer yelled back.

"What’s the matter with you? Can’t you see? I entered first, reached the queue first, and surely will place my order before you! So, be quiet and move aside!" the first customer exclaimed.

"That is escalating... Please intervene immediately in times like this and defuse the situation right away," Mary instructed the branch manager urgently.

"Do you think she’s capable of handling this?" Amy asked Mary with concern.

"Well, she better be. I approved her application based on her responses during the interview, so she needs to demonstrate her skills now," Mary replied sternly.

Suddenly, the air was filled with the sound of chairs and tables colliding, accompanied by the startled screams of customers. Amy and Mary turned around to see what was happening and were shocked to witness the two previously arguing customers now physically attacking each other.

The situation escalated further as other customers joined in, attempting to stop the fight but being met with punches to their faces from the enraged customers, only fueling more anger among the bystanders.

"Oh my God, please do something!" Amy pleaded to Dave and Rei, who wasted no time in responding. Mitch and Ava swiftly joined them as well.

Kevin, who had been in the staff room talking on the phone, arrived at the chaotic scene. With a bewildered expression, he asked Amy, "What the hell is going on?"

"Two customers started fighting," Amy explained urgently, then turned to Mary. "I think you should call the hotel’s security. This situation is escalating dangerously fast."

"You’re absolutely right," Mary acknowledged, quickly making her way to the hotel security intercom.

*Bang*

A loud bang reverberated through the room. People screamed in terror as the sound of shattering glass filled the air. Someone had hurled a table at another person who was standing near the wall-to-ceiling glass, causing him to crash into it and break it completely.

In the midst of the chaos, other customers began to grab chairs, tables, and anything within their reach, throwing them at each other in a disturbing display of violence.

In a swift and protective move, Kevin pulled Amy down to duck when another glass shattered. Concern etched on his face, he firmly grasped her wrist.

"It’s not safe for you here. Let’s get out of here," Kevin urgently suggested, waiting for Amy’s approval.

Without hesitation, Amy nodded in agreement. She understood the seriousness of the situation and know the importance of her safety, trusting that the experts would handle the escalating violence.

Amy and Kevin swiftly made their way out of the chaotic café through the back door, leading them into a hallway within the hotel. This particular corridor was rarely used by people, since it is mainly accessible only to employees and suppliers coming from the basement parking.

"Let’s head to the lobby for safety. You go first, and I’ll follow closely in case someone is following us," Kevin instructed.

However, before they could cover even half the distance, Amy heard Kevin groan, followed by a heavy thud. Alarmed, she turned around and caught a glimpse of Kevin lying on the floor, surrounded by men wearing ski masks and chef uniforms.

Before she could fully process the situation, one of the men swiftly covered her nose with a damp cloth, causing her to lose consciousness.

The pandemonium within the cafe quickly subsided as the police, accompanied by the hotel security guards, arrived on the scene. The presence of the uniformed officials compelled people to cease their violent actions.

"Rei! Ava! Amy and Kevin are missing!" Mary shouted in a distressed tone, realizing that two individuals were unaccounted for amidst the chaos.

"What?!" Rei exclaimed in a state of panic, caught off guard by the unexpected turn of events.

"Ava, inform everyone," Rei instructed urgently. "Mary, notify Anton and Henry. We can’t keep this from Henry any longer," Rei added, recognizing the need to address the situation promptly.

Rei then assigned Mitch and Dave the task of searching the entire hotel premises, hoping to find any trace of Amy and Kevin.
