"Heβs on vacation," Jane answered James naturally, "for one week." ππ£πππππππΌππ²πΉ.ππ π
Rock Bell had asked casually, as a way of greeting James, and she knew it was normal for James to leave the guard team over the weekend, but after Jane explained, Rock Bell couldnβt help but take another look at James.
A weekβs vacation?
Did he take time off just to take care of Jane?
Rock Bell mused to herself. Before today, she really hadnβt noticed that James was the kind of man so considerate in taking care of others. But since it was the coupleβs business, Rock Bell didnβt ask further,
"Sit down, Iβve got some great news for you." Rock Bell stood up and walked over from her office desk, her face unable to hide her joy, "Guess who I just got a call from, Jane? Take a guess."
"My brother-in-law?" Jane guessed seriously, but there was only one person she could think of.
"Pfft, would I be happy to get a call from him?" Rock Bell suppressed a smile at the corner of her mouth, "It was a call from James Carterβs agent. He wants to collaborate with you. James Carter is making a comeback."
Janeβs hand trembled lightly as she held her water cup, and water splashed out, wetting the back of her hand.
Quickly, James took the water cup from her hand and wiped the water off her back of the hand, his voice deepening, "Do you not want your left hand to recover either?"
Jane shook her head, "Iβm just too surprised." She offered this as an explanation to James, and then looked back at Rock Bell.
She asked, "James Carter is making a comeback?"
"Yes, it seems heβs planning to prepare for a comeback concert and wants to invite you to be one of his honored guests. His agent suggested that Ms. Little strongly recommended you. Ms. Little and James Carter are quite close."
After thinking for a moment, Rock Bell added, "The message from James Carter is probably that he wants to invite you to perform with him on stage. You play the piano, he sings. Jane, I remember you used to dream about performing with James Carter. Surprised, arenβt you? Your dream is about to come true, without any prior sign. Are you happy?"
Thinking of Janeβs nickname, Rock Bell felt happy for her.
