Chapter 355: Chapter 341: The Fight (Part 2)

Li Xianglu looked down at the chubby child and coldly huffed, "Quite skilled at lying through your teeth, not afraid of teaching the kids bad habits."

Seeing Li Xianglu glance at her son, the woman knew she was commenting on her son’s chubbiness. Just as she was about to speak, she heard the Director say, "Zhu Hong, enough, cut it short. You don’t even know the whole story about today’s events. I was actually about to come over here to apologize to the mother of the twins, but on my way, I ran into their family who had come looking." The Director was also indirectly explaining the situation to Li Xianglu.

Once inside the yard, several people sat directly under the gazebo, Li Xianglu didn’t serve any tea. Su Yan and the old master immediately brought the two children out.

Both kids had purple medicine applied to their faces, which looked rather alarming. Upon seeing the two children being held and their faces swollen with red and purple bruises, that woman’s face turned unsightly, nervously hanging her head and gripping her son’s hand tightly.

Li Xianglu turned to Director He and said, "Director He, look at my son. The older one has a scratch on his forehead and a big bump on his head, and look at the younger one’s neck—those marks could only have come from being pinched. I sent my child to nursery school to learn, not to be beaten up. My son is only one year and nine months old. Who would do this? Aren’t the teachers supposed to be watching?"

Director He stood up and took a closer look at the two children, frowning deeply. She had gone to a meeting in the afternoon, and it was late when she finished, so she went straight home. Then at six o’clock, Teacher Wang came to her, reporting that the Qin family’s child had been beaten. Her heart sank – she already knew about the child’s father’s ********; it didn’t matter what his official position was, considering the young age of the two children, not even two years old yet, to have them get injured under their care, though not seriously, but with family planning policies being so strict these days, every child is precious. How was she to explain this?

She had intended to come over to apologize properly and was planning to bring some gifts tomorrow, but before they could arrive, the troublemaker had gotten there first.

Director He looked at Zhu Hong and then at the chubby child, "Gu Niannian, why did you try to take away someone else’s toy?"

So the chubby kid’s name was Gu Niannian—a rather poetic name that didn’t quite match his figure.

Upon hearing Director He’s question, the woman instinctively gripped her son’s hand even tighter. The child named Gu Niannian let out a sharp cry, then turned to his mother and complained, "Mom, you’re squeezing me too hard," and pulled his hand away.

With a frown on his chubby face, Gu Niannian said to the Director, "Director, I wanted to take the twins’ toy, and then this one," pointing to Ba’er who was held by Su Yan, "wouldn’t let me play with it and pushed me, so I pinched his neck."

Li Xianglu was startled for a moment; the kid was surprisingly honest, which was somewhat interesting.

Just as the child was about to continue speaking, the woman scooped her son into her arms and said, "Oh dear, son, stop talking nonsense. Why do you love to lie like this? Clearly, it was two against one—they hurt you!"

But Gu Niannian, who seemed quite adept at stirring trouble, retorted, "What two against one? It was me against both of them; they’re not even two years old and can’t even walk steadily. They’re always being carried to the restroom by Teacher Wang."

Even Zhu Hong was stunned at that point, and in a fit of anger, she started to smack her son’s bottom. The smacks sounded loud but Li Xianglu clearly saw that Zhu Hong’s hand was only arching in the air, mock-patting, not actually hitting. Li Xianglu frowned—this was treating them like fools.

Dean He couldn’t stand it any longer and grabbed Zhu Hong’s hand, saying, "Enough already! What are you doing? Don’t you find this embarrassing? Hurry up and sort this out. Look at what your son has done to their kids. Isn’t everyone’s child precious? Just like your child is precious to you, and you know to come knocking when he’s hurt, so how about you propose a solution?" After speaking in one breath, Dean He left everyone looking at Zhu Hong.

Zhu Hong was visibly taken aback, her raised hand neither moving up nor down. After already smacking, how else to resolve it?

Seeing Zhu Hong’s reaction, Li Xianglu knew exactly what she was thinking—some people never learn unless they are taught a lesson. She said directly, "Take our children to see the doctor tomorrow. As for compensation for nutritional expenses and such, forget it. Let’s just consider this an expensive lesson."

Upon hearing Li Xianglu’s words, Zhu Hong’s eyes bulged in surprise; what was this all about, going to see a doctor? How much money would that cost? She blinked, then suddenly pulled her son up from his bottom, turned him around, and pointed to the bump on the back of her son’s head, "Look, my son is also injured. This is a matter for both sides. Although my son was wrong for snatching, he was also hit by your child!"
