Chapter 407: Chapter 407: Stuffed to the Brim

Ruby Sullivan was upset and ate more heartily. She was full in less than ten minutes and directly told the owner that this guy would pay the bill, then asked Anna to take her back to the hotel.

Anna had just leisurely finished a bowl of soup. Hearing her words, she immediately wanted to cry, "Can I have some more noodles?"

Ruby Sullivan thought about how Anna had been driving tirelessly today and couldn’t bear it, "Then give me the car keys, I’ll wait for you in the car."

"Okay." Anna became happy.

After Ruby left, Anna curiously asked Ethan Sterling, "You came here just to pursue Wenny, right?"

"Is it that obvious?"

Anna nodded, "It’s too obvious."

"Why can’t she see it?"

Anna raised an eyebrow, "Hmm, maybe she truly doesn’t love you anymore. She said, you from Celestia have a saying: good horses don’t turn back to graze the old pastures. I guess she wants to be a good horse."

Ethan’s expression slightly darkened, not wanting to talk. Isn’t being a person good?

Anna smiled, "Keep pushing, I know you Celestians have another saying that with sincere effort, even metal and stone will yield. I really like it, hope you succeed." She finished her noodles and left without dawdling.

Ethan put down the knife and fork, suddenly feeling a little stomachache. After resting for a while, he ordered a cream mushroom seafood soup.

When feeling upset, eat more. In their first three years living together, every time Ruby sensitively noticed his upset expression was different from usual and would add more dishes on that day, telling him her wisdom.

Back then, she was still a 160-pound fat woman, and Ethan despised it, thinking that her flesh clashed when she walked, yet she still ate.

But he always couldn’t help eating a few more bites or drinking another bowl of soup, seemingly feeling more comfortable indeed.

He was too silly.

Ethan gulped down the soup, leading to worse stomach pain.

After arriving at the hotel bed, Ruby couldn’t help but happily roll over. All day, wherever she turned around casually, she could see Ethan, her nerves were incredibly tense.

She adjusted a bit and called Howard, who should still be at the company at this time.

She reported a price, asking Howard to quickly calculate the acceptable price range and send it to her email so she could negotiate tomorrow.

After hanging up, she took a shower, having walked around all day, plus the tense nerves; she was a bit tired, possibly due to jetlag. Though tired, she didn’t feel sleepy. There was a small balcony in the room; she used it to blow some wind and checked out the surrounding scenery, then called hotel service to request a bottle of twelve-year-old Frapin. Expensive but she felt the cool evening breeze on the balcony deserved such a little luxury.

Shortly after, there was a knock at the door. She thought the wine had arrived and eagerly opened it, only to have a huge figure collapse on her.

Ruby hastily caught him, then realized it was Ethan Sterling, his forehead cold with sweat, his face terribly pale, something was very wrong.

She momentarily forgot why he was here, how he knew her room, only wanted to know what happened to him.

Ruby quickly supported him to sit on the sofa, "Where are you uncomfortable?"

Ethan frowned tightly, breathing in without breathing out, finally spoke in a faint voice after a long time: "Stomachache."

"Stomachache... I don’t have medicine here. Hot water, I’ll pour you a cup of hot water first." Ruby hurriedly got up to pour hot water.

At this moment, the waiter came to deliver the wine; Ruby felt like she saw a savior, immediately asked him where’s the nearest hospital for urgent gastric treatment.

The waiter was scared seeing Ethan’s condition, quickly contacted the on-duty manager. Within minutes, Ruby and Ethan were in a taxi, with the manager instructing the driver to take them to the hospital at the fastest speed.

After a series of checks, the doctor calmly said, "His stomach had some ulcers. Eating so much at once, it’s overloaded."

"Simply put, he ate too much and got stuffed?"

The doctor smiled, "You can understand it that way."

Ruby turned to glance at Ethan, who was receiving an IV drip, feeling shocked once more.

She couldn’t watch the moon, blow the small breeze, drink the twelve-year-old brandy, instead spent the night sprawled beside Ethan’s hospital bed.

The next day, Young Master Sterling woke up refreshed, while Ruby, with panda eyes and a weary face, called Anna to pick him up from the hospital.

After getting in the car, Ruby asked Ethan where he lived, planning to drop him off first.

"I live next door to you," Ethan replied in Celestian, then turned his gaze away like a child scared to meet his parent’s eyes after making a mistake. It wasn’t that he felt embarrassed his living next door was exposed; rather, he felt shame recalling he went to the hospital for overeating and was advised by the doctor to eat less in the morning.

Originally planned some earth-shaking major events last night but turned himself into a joke, really unbearable!

Ruby was stunned for a moment, recalling yesterday’s events, wasn’t too surprised, instructed Anna to return to the hotel.

Today she still wondered if Anna told him her address, turned to realize Anna didn’t know the room number here, and such high-end hotels wouldn’t disclose room numbers even when provided with guest names without her consent.

So, Ethan had researched everything before coming, he was prepared.

However, knowing her hotel and even the room number was relatively easy, how did he know about her meeting with the raw material supplier?

This couldn’t help but make her think of an insider, but only Nirvana’s few senior executives and she knew about it; no matter which one of them leaked for whatever purpose, it’d be heartbreaking. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

Thinking about this, Ruby’s face turned somewhat unpleasant.

Upon arriving at the hotel, Ruby invited Anna for a sit-in, she needed to finish reading emails before deciding whether to go to Veridia today.

The doctor instructed Ethan to fast for a day. So after returning, he obediently went back to his room for a shower, continued sleeping. He knew Ruby must be annoyed with him now, refrained from wandering in front of her to avoid further irritation.

After reading the emails, Ruby communicated with the person in charge over there on the phone. The sincerity of the offer was very genuine, making the conversation smooth; they immediately agreed to sign the contract tomorrow morning.

Once the deposit arrives, they can start preparing shipments.

With this matter settled, Ruby felt much more at ease, although the Gallian doctor advised Ethan to fast, she still felt Gallian doctors might not understand Celestians’ constitutions well, so she asked Anna where she could borrow a kitchen.

Thus, ten minutes later, she visited that family restaurant again.

After explaining her intent, the chef was willing to lend his kitchen and the ingredients Ruby needed if she agreed to bear the corresponding costs.

This time what Ruby brought aside from the down jacket needed for domestic airports were all glamorous long dresses, even somewhat discordant with an apron on. But, seeing her proficient knife skills, the chef couldn’t help but clap and say "bravo".
