Chapter 406: Chapter 406: Don’t Butt Heads with a Horse

When Ruby Sullivan saw Ethan Sterling, she was so surprised that her eyes widened and her mouth opened and closed without uttering a single word.

Ethan Sterling was dressed in a white suit, with two buttons undone on his light blue shirt. He looked at least five years younger, handsome and charming, even Anna was a bit mesmerized.

Ethan Sterling gave a polite smile to the person in charge and said, "I think we need a bit of alone time." He spoke fluent Gallian, adding a touch of elegance to his speech.

"Of course." The person in charge glanced at the time, "I’ll come back in ten minutes to hear your decision."

Ethan Sterling smiled and nodded, noticing Anna was still in a daze, gave her a proper reminder with his eyes, and she finally snapped out of it, following the person in charge out.

Ruby Sullivan used this break to pull her shocked mind back, and as soon as the room was empty, she immediately growled in a low voice, "Ethan Sterling, do you intend to completely ruin me?"

It’s not that she didn’t want to use Gallian spices, but while quality could improve, the cost would double, which was definitely not a good choice for Nirvana right now. If Ethan Sterling hadn’t cornered her, would she even be here shopping?

Thinking about her suffering on this trip and the stiff neck she got on the plane yesterday, she even wanted to tear Ethan Sterling apart, "Are you still human?"

"Not anymore." Ethan Sterling suddenly stepped forward and hugged her tightly, "I want to be a beast."

Ruby Sullivan instinctively tensed up, ready to resist, but the half sentence he added made her burst into laughter. Be a beast? Do beasts want you to be one?

Ethan Sterling released her, stepped back a few paces, his face still flushed, trying to clear his throat, and said in as teasing a tone as possible, "If I wanted to ruin you completely, I wouldn’t give today’s decision rights to you. I’m giving you a way out." Strangely, he spoke without looking at her.

The thought of being a beast went way beyond his limits; he didn’t even know why he said such bizarre words. Earlier, he was just hugging her, and suddenly his mind spiraled out of control, surely poisoned by those novels Aidan Sinclair recommended! He didn’t want to look at her; any hint of ridicule from her would make his face even hotter. He was already heated enough to want to take off his shirt.

Ruby Sullivan frowned after hearing this, thinking she laughed too aimlessly earlier, put on a stern face and said, "I ask you, if I make a deal here, are you going to mess it up?"

"Let’s see."

"You!"

Ethan Sterling glanced at his watch, "Ten minutes are almost up. I’m not sure if I’ll mess it up, but if you don’t let me accompany you today, I will definitely mess it up."

Ruby Sullivan was infuriated by his flippant tone, rolled her eyes, and before she could say something back, she heard knocking on the door.

Soon, the person in charge entered, "So, have you reached a decision?"

"I agree to participate in today’s itinerary with Mr. Sterling."

"That’s great." The person in charge’s nervous expression turned into a smile, and Anna, standing by her side, couldn’t help but beam as well.

Ruby Sullivan chose this raw material supplier, which wasn’t a particularly famous big factory, so before negotiating business, a site inspection was necessary to look at the flower fields and the production process of the factory.

Although it’s a small factory, it has three flower gardens. Roses, jasmine, vanilla, and other high-demand raw materials aside, many rare spices can surprisingly also be found here.

After seeing the scale of the gardens, Ruby Sullivan was very pleased and arranged to inspect the factory in the afternoon after having lunch.

Their lunch was arranged in the garden. The host prepared a sumptuous meal including Gallian roasted duck, red-sauce seafood, and the wine came directly from the nearby winery. Although it wasn’t a famous big winery, the taste was top-notch.

Due to jet lag, Ruby Sullivan was initially a bit lethargic, but after this meal, she felt instantly rejuvenated.

The factories in Veridia, regardless of size, are all superbly crafted, with techniques surpassing those at factories elsewhere. So after seeing them, Ruby Sullivan was nothing but satisfied. After simply inquiring about the prices, she said she’d go back for consideration.

She wanted to have another big meal in the evening, but the thought of not wanting to stay here made her decline their invitation, and she drove back to Nissa.

Upon reaching Nissa, Anna mentioned knowing a very nice private restaurant and asked if Ruby Sullivan would like to try it.

"I must Mason Sterling one thing, this restaurant has no ties with me, and I usually wouldn’t take tourists there." She laughed after saying this.

Ruby Sullivan found her humor amusing but saw Ethan Sterling persistently tagging along, and felt that ditching him before dinner was a better idea.

Upon hearing this, Anna couldn’t help but frown, "Why don’t you like him?" Forget that he’s a big CEO; even if he were a freeloader, she’d still want to keep him. With such a face and great build, even as a model, he wouldn’t lack success.

Ruby Sullivan was surprised, "Why should I like him?"

"Oh, I’m sorry, what I mean is, he’s excellent and matches well with you."

"Actually, he’s my ex-husband. We had a somewhat troubled marriage, and in Celestia, we have an old saying: ’A good horse doesn’t go back to graze old grass.’"

Anna laughed, "You’re not a horse, don’t limit yourself with such a saying."

Ruby Sullivan felt awkward, not wanting to discuss this matter with a foreign girl who’s developed an infinite fondness for Ethan Sterling, "Hmm, can we ditch him before going for dinner?"

Anna pursed her lips. Although a bit reluctant, she had to prioritize the employer’s needs for a good review, "Alright then."

After saying that, Anna suddenly turned onto a small road at the corner, and once she was sure Ethan Sterling didn’t follow, she drove into a one-way street in the neighborhood, and after making a big loop, they got back onto the main road.

Ruby Sullivan hadn’t seen Ethan Sterling’s car for a while, feeling relieved and happily ready to enjoy the food.

The private restaurant Anna recommended was truly excellent. The chef used to be the head chef of a three-star Michelin restaurant, but had a stubborn temperament, offended the manager, and simply stopped working outside. He renovated his living room and opened this family restaurant.

While Ruby Sullivan was happily eating, suddenly, a man in a white suit sat opposite her. He glanced at the food on the table, raised his hand to call the chef, "Please, another portion of this, and this, and this, thank you."

Ruby Sullivan was shocked, "Who allowed you to sit here?"

"We’re all friends; do we need permission for a meal together? How awkward." Ethan Sterling assumed a teasing manner, and his face was somewhat warm again. This rhythm of shamelessness made him quite uncomfortable.

The promised ’Ice President’ persona had collapsed into pieces.

Anna couldn’t understand Chinese, didn’t know what they were talking about, but seeing Ethan Sterling’s lively demeanor, his vibe seemed a bit more gentlemanly, growing more charming the longer she looked. Ruby Sullivan really had a bad judgment, choosing to argue with a horse. Why not be a woman adored rightly?
