Common Sense Hijack System-Chapter 67
Chapter 67: Chapter 67
Karl was shook when he saw Amber zoom past him, heading straight towards Layla who was behind him. His body tensed up, and his mind raced to find a way to stop this threat. Layla, who had stepped back to make room for Karl, didn’t react in time as Amber swung her weapon brutally.
"Layla!" Karl yelled, trying to leap towards them, but his body was too slow.
But before Amber’s attack could land, Valencia suddenly appeared like a passing shadow. With almost invisible movements, she halted Amber’s attack with her sword, gracefully twisting her body and forcing Amber to take a few steps back.
"Do you want to end the life of someone who doesn’t even intend to fight you?" Valencia smiled thinly, her smile filled with threats. "That’s just plain ridiculous."
Amber glared at Valencia in anger, but her steps became more cautious. Karl felt relieved, but his awareness sharpened again.
"Layla, get out of this area! Fast!" she urged.
Layla nodded quickly, though she looked anxious. "Be careful, Karl," she said before running away, making sure she didn’t become a target again.
Karl watched as Valencia stood between him and Amber, blocking the enemy with confidence. "You’re too careless, human," Valencia said without turning her head. "If you want to protect your women, at least make sure she don’t become a burden in the middle of the fight."
Karl nodded slowly, not responding to her words. He knew Valencia was right, but this wasn’t the time for contemplation. Amber and John were still dangerous, and they seemed to be getting bolder.
Karl looked at John, who stood panting, his body full of wounds, but his eyes still radiated intense hatred. Chloe, who was lying with severe injuries on her legs, tried to support herself with Amber’s help, though it was clear they were losing their fighting spirit. Valencia stood casually, pointing her sword at John’s neck, ready to end the fight at any moment.
Karl controlled his breath, realizing they had the situation under control. "Obscura crap!" he said firmly yet menacingly, "you’re not going to win. Not tonight."
John grinned bitterly, realizing he was cornered. "Do you think this is over, you foolish human?" he shouted, his voice full of resentment. However, he couldn’t deny the fact that Valencia and Karl, with Undead Platinum, had pushed him to the edge.
"Amber! Chloe! Let’s go!" John finally gave the order, his voice sounding forced. Amber immediately helped Chloe stand up, and they both moved back cautiously. John glared at Karl with hatred, then turned to Valencia. "This isn’t over," he threatened before finally fleeing into the darkness with his henchmen.
Karl remained silent, his body tense, ensuring they had truly left before lowering Undead Platinum. Layla approached hesitantly, her face still showing traces of fear. "Will... they come back?" she asked, her voice trembling.
"Maybe," Karl answered while glancing at Valencia. "But next time, we’ll be more prepared."
Valencia sheathed her sword, a thin smile adorning her face. "They have time to catch their breath. That could be dangerous for later!" She looked deeply at Karl, as if assessing the man further. "I’m starting to get curious, Karl. What will you do to ensure they don’t return to bring destruction?"
Karl swallowed hard, trying to calm himself from the remaining adrenaline of the fight. "I’ll figure it out later!"
Valencia smiled even wider, her eyes gleaming with newfound interest. "Now that makes more sense. Seems like I chose the right side." She turned around, walking away as if everything was just mere entertainment for her. "Entertain me some more, Karl, and I might stay longer."
The system notified again.

> Valencia is starting to find you intriguing.

Karl breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that John’s threat wasn’t over yet. With Valencia on his side, he felt they had a better chance to fight whatever comes their way. But in his mind, one question still lingered: how long will Valencia be amused?
"Alright, enough talk about them. I want you to come with me," Valencia said, taking the lead as if what had just happened was trivial.
Karl and Layla exchanged glances briefly before following Valencia, who was already walking faster. They didn’t know what to do, but right now, Valencia was the only one they could rely on.
Valencia led them to a large campervan parked on the side of the road. The campervan looked much bigger than it seemed, with a design that appeared simple yet sturdy. The back door of the car opened swiftly as Valencia approached, indicating that she was very familiar with the vehicle.
"You guys go in first," Valencia ordered nonchalantly. "I want you to see something."
Karl stepped in cautiously, observing every corner of the vehicle designed for comfort but also for practical purposes. Layla followed from behind, still wary but starting to feel some relief creeping in.
Once they were inside, Valencia closed the door quickly, and the vehicle’s lock clicked with conviction. Inside, the atmosphere was larger and more complex than they had anticipated. There was a work table with several large computer screens, a whiteboard full of symbols and intricate notes, and in another corner, there was a shelf full of electronic devices they had never seen before.
Karl was astounded, not knowing what to comment on. Valencia, standing in the middle of the room with a confident stance, looked at them with an almost annoyingly arrogant expression. "Comfortable place, huh?" she said sarcastically, as if they should feel honored to be there.
Layla frowned, wondering what they were really facing. "What is all this? It’s like a command center."
Valencia chuckled, turning to the shelf to take out some devices that looked more advanced than anything they had seen. "You’re too confident if you think this is just a shelter," Valencia replied with a dismissive tone. "I’m a hacker, not just your average ancient being. I’ve lived long enough to learn all sorts of things—including how to control the technology in this world."
Karl stared at her sharply. "Hacker? You mean, this technology isn’t just for survival, but to... control everything?" He felt like he was talking to someone completely different from what he had imagined before.
Valencia raised an eyebrow, a mocking smile on her face. "You’re just realizing it now? I’ve lived for a long time, much longer than you think, Karl. And during that time, I’ve learned many things—including how to make this world work according to my will. It’s not just about survival; it’s about mastering and entertaining oneself."
She turned to the computer screen on the table, moving the cursor deftly. With a few taps, the screen displayed a network of information that was so complex and vast. "This is what I’ve learned over the years. The world is full of loopholes that can be exploited, and I know how to access them. With this, we can better prepare to face John and his group."
Karl felt pressured, not only because of the threat they faced but also because of what he had just learned about Valencia. "You can access all this? So much information?"
Valencia smiled triumphantly. "Of course. I’ve gathered information on almost everything. Events that have happened over centuries, hidden powers, and of course, your enemies—The Obscura. I know more about them than they think."
She paused and looked at Karl sharply. "You have little time. We have to move fast. I can manipulate their data, cut off their communication, or even steal crucial information. Whatever you need, I can help—as long as you show that you’re committed."
Karl admired the screen with awe, though there was uneasiness in his heart. "What do you want, Valencia? This is too big for just assistance."
Valencia stood arrogantly, her gaze filled with confidence that could be felt. "I don’t need anything from you. You just need to know—I want a bigger game. If you want to survive, you have to be able to play with powers greater than just muscles and weapons. I want to see if you have the ability for that."
Layla looked confused, but Karl, still trying to put his thoughts together, realized one thing—Valencia wasn’t just an Uncommon Creature; she was a crazy genius who learned everything to entertain herself.
Before Karl could voice his doubts, a notification appeared in the system again.

> Valencia is starting to see potential in you, but there is still doubt. Don’t rely too much on her.

With a slight smile, Valencia walked towards the door. "So, are you ready for the next step?" she asked, her voice challenging. "This is just the beginning, right?"
