Conquering The Game's World-Chapter 255: It’s Over!
"Over here!" A young healer shouted, dragging a bleeding boy back toward the medical line. His leg was swollen, purple from poison.
A staff glowed, light spreading into his veins. The boy gasped, still alive thanks to the brooch barrier that had stopped the venom from reaching his heart.
The healer’s hands trembled. All around her, students staggered in with burns, gashes, roots sticking from their flesh.
"It’s so cruel. Aren’t they going a bit too far?"
A senior medical staff member heard her murmur and patted her shoulder.
"Rookie, just get used to it. This is the world’s top academy, from which the true elite fighters emerge. Weak can’t survive here."
Upon hearing those words, the healer’s shoulder trembled a bit, and she was at a loss for words.
---
Cobert sighed, twirling his dagger lazily. "Tch~ Such a pain..."
Mist gathered around him, not the Chimaera’s, but his own. His element spread outward, veiling a squad of archers.
The arrows whistled through, containing the power of various elements, striking at the Chimaera’s body. Each impact bought cover for the front-line attacks.
Cobert listlessly dealt with the Chimaera’s vines as if struggling to move forward. ’Guess I’ll look busy for now.’
Just then, the serpent tail whipped toward his face.
His eyes widened. Shit.
He darted aside, blade flashing, instinctively leaving a large cut on the venom-coated tail.
’Oops, accidentally used too much strength. I hope no one saw that.’
His eyes darted around, only to see Sufi staring at him wide-eyed.
’Well, I messed up.’
He gave her an awkward smile, pretending not to see the look in her eyes.
’Whatever, she has already seen a part of my strength in the previous fights. A little more is nothing.’
As he comforted himself, the previous attack had already made him the target of Chimaera Tail and dozens of vines.
Surrounded, his lazy smirk faltered as sweat beaded down his brow.
"...Maybe I should try harder."
---
Luis’s gloves buzzed with power as he alternated between firing off Thunder Bullets and mana bullets, each strike aiming to disrupt Chimaera’s attacks.
"Thomas, left flank! Rura, target its tail! Sandra—ground the legs! Seraphina, stop vines from interfering! Alicia, harass it—NOW!"
His mana in filled voice was loud enough for everyone to hear. Sandra, who wasn’t acquainted with him, shot him a glance, acquiescing in silence. She was very surprised that he knew her name and abilities.
The Chimaera’s lion jaws opened. Mist poured forth, thicker than before, drowning half the chamber in sluggish weight. Students staggered, knees buckling.
Luis’s brow furrowed. "Everyone, the Chimaera is going for the final struggle! Go for it! Don’t hold back!"
Although he said so, he didn’t plan to show much strength and only worked as assist.
Seraphina slammed her palms to the ground, roots bursting upward to clash with the Chimaera’s vines. Every clash drained her mana faster.
"Damn it—why won’t it stop growing?! There’s not much mana left! I can’t keep this for long!"
Sandra lifted her arms, sand surging into a storm that collided with the Chimaera’s wings. A vortex of sand appeared, binding Chimaera’s legs, restricting its movements.
As the Chimaera tried to break it off, more strain was put on Sandra. Which made her grit her teeth.
"Hurry! It will break free soon!"
"I’m on it!" Alicia spoke. Frost wrapped her blade. She dove, her sword glowing with icy light.
"Invisible Blade!" 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
Her figure flickered, a strike landing across the Chimaera’s neck, leaving a deep cut. A roar bellowed, shaking the chamber.
*GRAWWL*
For a moment, she smirked. "Got you."
However, under unbearable pain, the Chimaera opened its sharp jaw to bite Alicia to death.
Not having enough time to escape. Her eyes widened—too close.
Right then, lightning split the air. Luis’s Thunder Javelin struck the lion’s mouth, impaling deep into the ground, saving her.
She backed off into the air and glanced down, rolling her eyes. "Show-off."
Before, he was only doing casual attacks. When she got in danger, he immediately pulled out a powerful move.
Though she said so, a sweet smile appeared on her face.
---
The Chimaera staggered, metal plating warped, vines shredded, tail scorched, but it was still alive.
Its roar shook the altar. All elements surged at once: sandstorm, poison, vines, mist, steel jaws snapping down.
Students screamed. Barriers cracked. The chamber was in complete chaos.
Luis could feel Morthys’ aura weakening. It was at the end of its rope.
With this revelation, he wasted no time. His gloves hummed violently, sparks arcing. He inhaled. Time to end this.
"Everyone, hold it down!"
Alicia bound its legs with ice, supporting Sandra’s sand binds. Thomas’s flames anchored the vines. Sandra’s sand walled the wings. Seraphina forced every root to tangle its tail. Ben and Diana protected the archers. Even Cobert’s mist thickened, blinding its senses.
Luis spread his arms wide. The Magnus Gloves pulsed, magnetic force erupted, crashing down at Morthys.
The Chimaera’s steel plates screeched, drawn inward. Its body convulsed, metal grinding against itself.
"Magnetic Smash!"
With a powerful metallic pull, the Chimaera was slammed down hard. It shrieked one last time before collapsing, its body crushed inward until gears snapped and the lion’s face shattered. Silence followed.
It took them a few seconds to realise that the monster wouldn’t get up anymore.
Dozens of students lay collapsed. Some cried. Some laughed weakly. Others stared blankly at the monster’s corpse.
Luis turned around to watch everything silently. In this battle, he had already let Lily record all the students’ performances.
From this, he can consider who is actually worth recruiting in the future.
Alicia landed beside him, blade resting on her shoulder. She smirked sidelong. "Even if you got the finishing hit. This time it’s my win."
"So confident?" Luis showed a faint smile and asked. "What do you plan to do after winning the bet?"
"Hmm." Alicia curled her bangs and smiled. "You will find out soon."
At the same time, all the remaining students received a notification at the same time.
