Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 26: Maxim Sinclair’s Ambiguous Smile
Compared to the eagerness of others, Rachel Nash looked relaxed as she held her bone china cup: "The project is a good one, but achieving impressive results won’t be easy."
The people around the table didn’t catch her meaning, and Rachel swallowed her coffee, quietly reminding them: "Sheryl has a habit of liking to carry important documents in her laptop bag."
Upon hearing this, the others around started to react.
Sheryl resigned and went missing, but she hadn’t submitted the project documents to the company.
This means that although Summer Lowell personally took over the "Seasons" project, it might not be completed smoothly.
"Right, she would be lucky to complete the project successfully. Remember, this project was specifically instructed by the headquarters. If things go wrong... she’ll probably have to scurry back to headquarters."
The group, not dismissing the fun in watching the drama unfold, shared a knowing, low laugh.
Another designer, recently criticized by Summer Lowell, gloated: "If that’s the case, the headquarters might not even want her back."
"Alright, alright, enough,"
One keen-eyed designer, with their back to Rachel Nash, noticed Assistant Fletcher returning from outside and softly urged others to tone it down.
Assistant Fletcher greeted the cluster of designers routinely before turning and dropping her expression.
She entered Summer Lowell’s office with a gloomy face.
Summer looked up right away and guessed the reason: "Did those people outside make fun of me, and you overheard it?"
Assistant Fletcher, helping with Summer Lowell’s paperwork, was indignant: "They laughed too loud, I could hear it from the stairs."
"Let them laugh," Summer, while drafting plans on her computer, replied nonchalantly, without a hint of concern on her face. "After all, it’s afternoon tea time."
"Which company uses tea time for employees to gossip behind their boss’s back?" Assistant Fletcher grew angrier, "Director Nash, you’re too easy-going. The previous director, nicknamed The She-Devil, they only dared to criticize her after work."
"I’m still new here," Summer Lowell loosened her mouse, stood up, and rubbed her aching neck, "Soon, when I have time, you won’t use ’easy-going’ to describe me anymore."
Assistant Fletcher looked uncertainly at her, "Director Lowell, if I may say something, I think you should now focus on establishing authority in the design department. It’s crucial for advancing the Seasons project."
"Establishing authority doesn’t help," Summer Lowell shook her head in disapproval, "I’m too young, and I spent most of my time abroad. Simply establishing authority won’t make these proud designers acknowledge me and might backfire."
Seeing nothing worked, Assistant Fletcher couldn’t help but sigh several times.
Summer Lowell, amused by her reaction, laughed: "What are you worried about? There’s always a way out, I’m not worried."
Assistant Fletcher still couldn’t figure out where Summer’s confidence came from: "Director Lowell, the Seasons project is an S-level project for us this year."
"I’m more aware of the project’s importance than you. I even attended several meetings before the project’s inauguration."
Summer Lowell pushed her empty coffee cup forward: "Pour me a new cup, I need to rush this plan before today’s end."
"Alright, I’ll do it right away."
...
Inside the President’s office on the top floor of The Sinclair Group Headquarters, a landmark in this city.
Maxim Sinclair took the document from his special assistant’s hand, opened it, and after reading, said: "Bring me the head of the design department, along with the heads of the marketing and sales departments."
The special assistant made a call, and in just three minutes, the heads of the three departments arrived in Maxim Sinclair’s office.
"The news received this morning is that Stellart’s Seasons project will proceed as scheduled, with Summer Lowell, their current design director, replacing the former designer Sheryl as the person in charge."
Maxim Sinclair placed the document on the table, looked at the three people before him, and slowly said.
Director Nash in the design department was the first to understand his meaning: "The Seasons project was arranged by Stellart headquarters, reportedly Stellart’s domestic division’s S-level project this year. While it makes sense for their design director to be in charge, if I’m not mistaken, Director Lowell also has another S-level project on her plate."
Following this, the marketing department head quickly chimed in: "She’s handling two S-level projects by herself? Are today’s young people really that bold? She’s not afraid of getting in trouble and being held accountable by headquarters!"
Maxim Sinclair’s expression was complex and indescribable: "I just reviewed the introduction to the Seasons project. Director Nash, if we also launch a similar project... what’s your confidence in suppressing Stellart?"
Rachel Nash thought for a while and then replied: "There’s a 60-70% chance. Stellart’s headquarters abroad are strong, but their domestic division is lacking. Their designers generally aren’t as competent as ours."
"If the chance is that high," Maxim Sinclair tapped his smooth watch surface with his finger, half-smiling, "then before Stellart gains momentum, we should eliminate the possibility of it becoming a strong rival."
The marketing department head, silent since entering, seized the opportunity to speak: "Yes, Stellart’s domestic division was established only a few years ago and hasn’t stabilized in the market yet. But if they gain the market, they might become formidable opponents."
"Since there’s no objection," Maxim Sinclair turned to Rachel Nash, "get a plan to me quickly, the sooner the better. I can’t wait to surprise Director Lowell."
Saying this, Maxim Sinclair couldn’t help but chuckle.
The three across the table paused, "Demon King Sinclair" laughed?
They quickly joined in the laughter.
"Alright, that’s all, go implement it." Maxim Sinclair withdrew his smile and impatiently waved them away.
Special Assistant Collins picked up the reviewed documents and personally escorted the three out of the office.
At the doorway, the three surrounded Assistant Collins, with Director Nash being the first to ask: "Special Assistant Collins, what’s President Sinclair’s intention? His last laugh made me uneasy."
"I have no idea why President Sinclair laughed," Special Assistant Collins shrugged helplessly, "Let’s not speculate on his thoughts, just carry on. Especially you, Director Nash, you need to get that plan to President Sinclair quickly."
He said this and left the office doorway with the documents.
Rachel Nash followed Special Assistant Collins to a secluded area: "Special Assistant Collins, be honest, what’s President Sinclair’s real intention towards Director Lowell?"
