Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 30: Announcing Their Intention to Change Jobs in Person
Seeing the situation wasn’t right, the other designers quickly packed up their things and left the meeting room.
Assistant Fletcher hesitated for a moment, unsure if he should leave, but decided to stay to support his director.
Summer Lowell glanced at Assistant Fletcher who walked behind her, pointing at the meeting room door that wasn’t closed properly: "You can leave too, and close the door on your way out."
Once Assistant Fletcher had also left the meeting room, Summer Lowell took a sip of water and looked at Dawn, who was still drawing on the paper, and said sincerely, "I heard that both of you almost caused some trouble with other designers to join the Four Seasons project?"
Dawn continued his work without pausing: "No one expected this issue to arise in the middle of the project."
"You’ve been with the company for so many years, you should understand that changing project leaders midway is quite common. Although inconvenient, as long as we work together, the project can still succeed." Summer Lowell picked up a pen and twirled it in her hand while keeping an eye on their expressions.
"You’re right, changing leaders midway isn’t a big issue. The real problem now is there’s a formidable competitor." Designer Dawn finally looked up, "Director Lowell, having worked at Sinclair Group before, you should know how tough it is to compete with them."
There was a subtle change in Summer Lowell’s eyes, but she quickly returned to normal: "I have confidence in you; I believe as long as we work together, the Four Seasons project will be successful."
"Ha, Director Lowell, you sure are confident," Dawn chuckled dismissively. After laughing, he stood up and took off the badge from his chest, sighing provocatively at the frowning Summer Lowell, "It’s a pity I won’t be able to fight alongside you anymore."
"What do you mean by that?" Summer Lowell, vaguely understanding something, turned to look at Alan and saw that she also took off her badge, immediately darkening her expression, "Are you leaving too?"
Alan didn’t dare meet her eyes, turning her face away guiltily and then walked behind Dawn.
Seeing this scene and recalling what they said earlier, Summer Lowell had an idea: "Did Sinclair Group contact you?"
Both remained silent, and Summer Lowell understood, letting out a self-deprecating laugh: "Poaching the two most important designers from the project team, Sinclair Group must have spent quite a bit this time."
"People aspire to advance; Stellart is good, but still falls short compared to Sinclair Group. It’s normal for us to choose the better option."
"Understandable," Summer Lowell nodded, her expression cooling, and called back Assistant Fletcher she had sent out earlier, "Notify HR and President Norris that these two have been poached by Sinclair Group."
Assistant Fletcher, not expecting this turn of events, stared at Alan wide-eyed: "It was the company that invested heavily to send you for advanced training, without which you wouldn’t have your current success."
Alan flushed red, defensively, "I’ve contributed plenty to the company these past two years. Besides, it’s not like I sold myself to the company; I didn’t sign a lifetime contract. What’s wrong with changing jobs?"
"You..."
"Enough," Summer Lowell cut off Assistant Fletcher, "Go notify President Norris and secure their workstations, especially the computers. I’ll personally delete the files related to the Four Seasons project later."
Compared to Alan’s discomfort, Dawn was calm: "I know the procedure, take your time, no rush."
Summer Lowell, amused by her anger, looked at Dawn, completely at ease: "You should have said something sooner. If you had said you were leaving before today’s meeting, I wouldn’t have given you this week’s work plan. Now that you’ve seen it, I have to make a new one."
"Rest assured, Director Lowell, I won’t share this week’s work plan with the Sinclair Group. Frankly, you’re handling two S-grade projects, and Stellart already isn’t as strong as Sinclair, it’s too easy for President Sinclair to beat you."
"Ha ha," Summer Lowell couldn’t help but laugh, "You haven’t even left Stellart yet, and you’re already addressing him as President Sinclair, they must have offered you a very generous deal!" 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"Of course," Dawn didn’t refute, meticulously arranging the hair dangling in front of his chest, "After all, I’ve been with this company since I graduated, so the sentiment runs deep. If Sinclair Group hadn’t offered such favorable terms, I’d still prefer to stay and face the challenge alongside Director Lowell."
"No need for sentimental speeches," Summer Lowell slowly drank water, calming her emotions, "Fortunately, we haven’t known each other for long, so I won’t be too upset about you leaving."
Dawn was momentarily stunned, as if surprised by Summer Lowell’s ability to remain calm: "I’ve always wondered why headquarters sent such a young person here as director."
"I know the whole design department doesn’t accept me, is that one of the reasons you’re switching jobs?"
"Not at all," Dawn shook his head straightforwardly, "I’m switching because of the great terms Sinclair offered, which Stellart couldn’t match, and I don’t believe that just by leading Four Seasons, you can win against Sinclair."
"Whether the Four Seasons project succeeds isn’t for an outsider like you to conclude," Summer Lowell stood up, taking the project plan table in front of them, then looked at Dawn with regret, "It’s a shame, the next time we meet, we’ll be competitors. I’ve heard the internal competition at Sinclair is fierce, I hope you survive until then."
Meanwhile, Assistant Fletcher returned with the HR manager.
"What did President Norris say?" Summer Lowell motioned Assistant Fletcher over, handing over files related to the Four Seasons project, "Did you see President Norris?"
"I told President Norris everything, and President Norris said it’s your department’s issue, handle it how you see fit."
Upon hearing it was up to Summer Lowell, Alan’s face immediately changed, turning to Dawn for help.
Summer Lowell, seeing Alan’s change of expression, suddenly remembered something and turned to ask the HR manager Assistant Fletcher brought: "Did these two sign non-compete agreements?"
"Yes, Director Lowell, in this case, they’ll need to pay a hefty penalty for breach of contract."
Summer Lowell nodded, looking at Dawn: "Did Sinclair Group say they’ll cover your penalty fees?"
"They did, they said they would pay it," Dawn nodded.
In that case, then...
