Chapter 94: Chapter 94: His Revenge Is Both Intimate and Disgusting

"The security personnel reviewed all the footage related to Miss Tina and cut out the suspicious parts. I’ve already packaged the video and forwarded it to your email."

Maxim Sinclair responded with a light "hmm" and opened the video on the USB drive first.

By coincidence, Venus had also provided a USB drive containing surveillance footage, and the owner of the footage happened to be Tina Huxley.

Maxim watched the few segments of surveillance video with eyes as deep as water, and then casually placed all the videos into a folder on the desk.

"I understand."

Assistant Collins on the other end of the call was momentarily stunned upon hearing this reply, and after a pause, tentatively spoke, "Since we already have the evidence, should we inform Miss Summer Lowell? To prevent her from worrying all the time."

In the next second, Assistant Collins was abruptly interrupted by Maxim, "No need to tell her. Let that ungrateful woman hit a wall on her own and suffer a bit."

"Wouldn’t that be a bit harsh? Miss Lowell might not be able to handle the people from Huxley’s second family, and if she finds out later that you didn’t help..."

Assistant Collins tried to persuade him as gently as possible.

"No need, just do as I say." Maxim hung up after giving this command.

Since Maxim had given orders to remain inactive and watch how the situation unfolded, Assistant Collins had no choice but to comply.

...

At the hospital, Summer Lowell managed to contact Noah the next afternoon.

Upon learning about the developments, Noah hurried over to Mercy Hospital to visit Summer.

Lying in bed, bored and recuperating, Summer saw Noah approach and her first words were an apology, "I’m sorry, President Norris. I let you down and messed up such a great opportunity."

With a somewhat numb expression, Noah waved it off, "Just lie down and stay still. Be careful not to hurt your foot again." 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"Last night’s incident was my fault. I wanted to apologize to Ms. Venus immediately, but her butler stopped me and insisted on taking me to the hospital."

Noah made a hand gesture, "Don’t rush. I’ve already investigated what happened last night and contacted people on Ms. Venus’s side."

"Really? What did Ms. Venus’s people say?" Summer looked at Noah nervously.

Noah sat down on the chair next to her and smiled at the anxious Summer, "Rest assured, Ms. Venus isn’t upset about the incident. It’s just a minor injury. She reviewed the surveillance and knows this wasn’t your fault. She even asked me to advise you not to dwell on it."

Summer breathed a sigh of relief, "As long as she’s not angry, I’ll go apologize as soon as my foot recovers."

"Let’s not worry about that for now," Noah contemplated as he looked at her, "Summer, let me ask you, did you get into any conflicts with anyone at that party last night?"

"No, how could I dare to provoke anyone at such a prestigious event? Moreover, when the incident happened, I had just seen you off. You know, I’m not good at socializing and only interact with people when you’re around."

As she said this, Summer remembered Maxim Sinclair visiting her unexpectedly last night.

Could this matter really have something to do with Maxim Sinclair?

Summer dared not tell Noah that Maxim had already visited her. She carefully chose her words and asked indirectly, "President Norris, why are you asking me this? Did someone on Ms. Venus’s side say something?"

"The butler who called me vaguely hinted at something, but there wasn’t enough information for me to deduce anything valuable," Noah said as he scratched his forehead in frustration. "So I thought I’d come ask you, to see if you accidentally offended someone last night and got set up."

Hearing this, Summer couldn’t help but think of Maxim Sinclair again.

If she had offended someone who would trip her up, it would most likely be Maxim Sinclair in all of Stellarion.

He’s truly petty and vindictive.

And his ways of getting back at people are annoyingly persistent and irksome.

I have no idea what’s going on in his mind!

"Summer?"

Hearing Noah call her, Summer snapped back to reality, "Yes, President Norris?"

"What were you thinking about? You seemed lost in thought for quite a while."

Summer smiled, "Nothing, just recalling whether I offended anyone at Clearwater Mountain Villa yesterday."

"Did you remember anything?"

"No, I still can’t figure out where I might have offended someone," Summer thought carefully but didn’t dare to bring up Maxim.

She’s somewhat afraid that Noah might hold a grudge against her because of Maxim and decide to abandon her.

"It’s okay if you can’t remember. Maybe I’m just overthinking it," Noah smiled and did not pursue the matter further.

Noah came and went in a hurry, and after comforting Summer, he left the hospital, saying he had another engagement to attend.

Since there weren’t any particularly important projects in the design department lately, Noah insisted that Summer stay in the hospital to rest.

But with work on her mind, Summer, unable to settle down for proper recovery, left the hospital after three days to return to the company and continue her project.

Seeing that persuasion was futile, Noah let her be.

Once work began, time flew by and it was soon the seventh day, the day the doctor ordered for a follow-up at the hospital.

Early in the morning, Summer’s assistant took her to Mercy Hospital for an ankle check-up.

"I told you it’s fine," Summer complained as she walked inside, "You’re forcing me to come here. Look at how I walk now, it’s just like before—obviously, I’m all better."

"It’s not about how you feel; the doctor needs to check it," Assistant Fletcher gently persuaded, seating Summer on a bench in the waiting area, "I made the appointment for you early online. Just three more to go, and then it’s your turn. We can return to the company for the meeting afterward."

Accepting the situation, Summer no longer objected, "Alright, let’s just get it done."

Soon it was Summer’s turn.

"I don’t need any help; I can walk on my own," Summer brushed off her assistant’s hand, walked steadily to the door, and sat in the chair next to the doctor, "Hello, I’m here for a follow-up."

The doctor, who was writing something, looked up immediately upon hearing this, "Summer?"

Summer was equally surprised, "Vivian Sullivan? What are you doing here?"

Vivian removed her mask and lunged forward, "Long time no see, dear. Did you find out I was here and came to surprise me? I was planning to surprise you!"

Still somewhat bewildered, Summer extended a hand to push her away, "So this is the big gift you mentioned last night?"
