Chapter 98: Chapter 98: What a Coincidence, We Meet Again

Vivian Sullivan looked at him, still grinning foolishly like before, which ignited a fire in her heart, so she increased the pressure of her hands.

Her grip was so strong that Charles Jenson, whose shoulder was already uncomfortable, had to bite his tongue hard to swallow back the groan that almost escaped.

Yet, after enduring the pain, Charles Jenson’s originally stiff and aching shoulder actually started to feel better.

Seeing this doctor had real skill, Charles Jenson no longer pursued the matter of her poor doctor-patient communication skills, and sat peacefully, letting her massage his shoulder.

Vivian Sullivan noticed he was actually enjoying it, feeling a bit frustrated, she clenched her left fist, ready to show him some real power.

But just then, a slightly older doctor entered the room.

Hearing the noise, Charles Jenson looked up and found a man in a white coat had come in. Recognizing his face, he waved with a smile, "Dr. Jacobs, so you’re working today, I thought you were off."

The man, referred to as Dr. Jacobs, walked to the desk and, smiling, spoke to Charles Jenson, "What’s wrong? Is your shoulder acting up again?"

"Yeah, it’s been unbearable these last two days. Recently, I’ve been acquiring a new project and hadn’t slept well for an entire month, so my shoulder didn’t get a proper rest either, probably aggravated again."

It seemed like the two were quite familiar with each other.

With someone else present, Vivian Sullivan didn’t dare to play tricks anymore. She lowered her head quietly, continuing to knead Charles Jenson’s shoulder.

After chatting a bit with Charles Jenson, Dr. Jacobs immediately brought up Vivian Sullivan, who was vigorously treating behind him: "This is Dr. Sullivan from Leonia. She’s rotating through our department this month, but don’t worry, Dr. Sullivan graduated top of her class from a foreign medical university, she’s very skilled. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have let her rotate in my department."

As soon as he said that, the two people, one standing and one sitting, froze simultaneously.

After a while, Charles Jenson slowly spoke, "Dr. Sullivan from Leonia?"

Unaware of the situation, Dr. Jacobs nodded, "Yeah, you know, our hospital has a branch in Leonia, and doctors frequently exchange and learn from each other every year."

Charles Jenson smiled meaningfully, raising a hand to lightly brush the tip of his nose, and said with a deep tone, "I also know a Dr. Sullivan from Leonia, very skilled indeed."

"Really? What a coincidence!" Dr. Jacobs was intrigued, looking up with a smile at Vivian Sullivan behind Charles Jenson, "Maybe you two know each other. Take off your mask and let him see."

Upon hearing this, Charles Jenson slightly raised an eyebrow, resting a hand on the armrest, about to turn and look at Vivian Sullivan.

As soon as he turned his body, he saw Vivian Sullivan pull out a loudly ringing phone from her pocket: "Sorry, I need to take this call."

Saying that, Vivian Sullivan walked out of the room.

Sitting there, Charles Jenson ran his tongue over his teeth, eyes flickering with depth.

What a coincidence, didn’t expect to run into someone familiar here.

Seeing Vivian Sullivan step out to take the call, Dr. Jacobs rolled up his sleeves and walked behind Charles Jenson, "Looks like she didn’t finish your massage, right? Let me continue. She was covering for me this morning anyway."

With his back to Dr. Jacobs, Charles Jenson gazed thoughtfully at the pink thermos cup left on the desk by Vivian Sullivan, "Did you say she’s rotating through your department?"

"Yeah, she just came to Stellarion recently, and the first department she chose for her rotation was ours. But this young Dr. Sullivan doesn’t seem to specialize in orthopedics, if I remember correctly, her file said her expertise is in obstetrics and gynecology."

As Dr. Jacobs kneaded his shoulder, he chatted without noticing the enigmatic expression on Charles Jenson’s face.

Charles Jenson clasped his hands together, moving them slightly in an irregular manner, "Why didn’t she have a name tag on her coat? I noticed earlier but didn’t get a chance to ask. It’s rare to encounter a doctor who speaks so little."

"Her full name is Vivian Sullivan, did she not have a badge? Maybe she forgot, I’ll remind her later." Dr. Jacobs replied casually without any suspicion.

Upon hearing that name, Charles Jenson slowly curled the corners of his mouth.

Vivian Sullivan, what a coincidence, we’ve met again.

After about six or seven more minutes, growing impatient, Charles Jenson lifted his head to look at the room door; Vivian Sullivan seemed to be taking a long time on the call, she hadn’t come back yet.

Dr. Jacobs behind him also stopped his hand movement, removed the disposable gloves he was wearing, threw them into the trash, then pulled out a chair to sit down, grabbed some paper, and began to write a medical record, "I can feel that your shoulder has gotten much stiffer than before, haven’t been paying attention to exercise lately, right? Is work keeping you too busy?"

Charles Jenson let out a long sigh, "Yeah, been so busy I haven’t even had time to rest, let alone find time to exercise. But it’ll be over in a few more days. After wrapping up this important project, I can find time to come over for treatment."

Saying that, Charles Jenson stopped briefly and nonchalantly probed Dr. Jacobs, "I saw you posting on social media a few days ago about taking a vacation, when do you plan to start?"

"The day after tomorrow, these two days I have to guide Dr. Sullivan, help her quickly familiarize with the situation here. But don’t worry, Dr. Sullivan’s medical skills are excellent as well. If you’re uncomfortable later, just come see Vivian Sullivan, she’ll be here for over a month."

Awaiting those words, Charles Jenson smiled and nodded in agreement, "I know, my shoulder isn’t that serious, an old injury. As long as the doctor isn’t too ridiculous, they can handle it."

Dr. Jacobs raised a finger and shook it at him, "I’ve got good news for you, this Dr. Sullivan has exceptional skills. If you’re really in pain, you can have her do acupuncture, she’s at my level."

"You rate this Dr. Sullivan very highly. That’s quite an exaggeration," Charles Jenson chuckled, shaking his head, then pretended to remember something as he pulled out his phone, looking apologetically at Dr. Jacobs, "I almost forgot, my boss is urging me to get back quickly."

The silver needle just caught in his hand for the next step in treatment, Dr. Jacobs was stunned, "You’re in such a hurry to leave? Your condition hasn’t been fully addressed yet, can’t you delay a bit more, at least let me relieve your current discomfort?"

"If it could wait, I wouldn’t have said so," Charles Jenson grabbed the coat beside him, quickly putting it on, "President Sinclair is urging me urgently, I quickly need to handle this, but after your earlier massage, my shoulder feels much better. I’ll come back once everything is handled to continue the treatment."

"Alright then, take care of yourself, and if you feel uncomfortable again, just book an appointment with Dr. Sullivan."
