Creating A Succubus Army In A Fantasy World!-Chapter 106: Trial Phase 1! (1)
Chapter 106: Trial Phase 1! (1)
"Sniff Sniff"
Some youths continued crying like babies, their dreams shattering before their eyes.
They had spent years training, pushed themselves to their absolute limits, and traveled all this way...
Only to be discarded like trash.
And the worst part?
Ryan Griffith was still smiling!
Not a cruel, mocking smile. No, it was something far worse. It was a bored smile. Like he had expected this.
Like this was just another day for him.
And then, in the most casual, almost lazy voice possible, he said;
"You all that have been disqualified are not worthy to be here."
His eyes gleamed with amusement.
"So get out."
The words were absolute. A sentence. And just like that, the already fragile candidates collapsed even further.
For some, it was like their last bit of hope had been yanked away. For others, it was a final humiliation.
Creed watched it all in silence. He felt zero sympathy.
If they couldn’t handle this much, then they were never going to survive the academy anyway.
This was the brutal reality of the world. The strong moved forward. The weak got left behind.
Simple.
Finally, the drone reached Creed’s position. It hovered over Amara first, scanning her face before beeping green.
"Zenith Rank: 14,322. Passed."
Creed nodded slightly.
Not bad.
That rank meant she wasn’t just strong—she was terrifyingly strong for a Bronze Level Awakened.
In fact, she was probably stronger than most of the other candidates here!
Then, the drone turned to Creed.
It scanned him, paused for a brief moment, then spoke:
"Zenith Rank: 90,934. Passed."
Creed felt a small wave of relief. He already knew he would pass, but seeing it confirmed still made him feel better.
Then, he felt a gaze on him. Turning slightly, he found Amara staring at him again.
This time, however, it wasn’t shock. It was curiosity. Like she was trying to figure him out.
Creed internally sighed. Why was she even standing next to him? And more importantly, why did she keep staring?
Was he that handsome?
...Well, obviously.
But still.
Outwardly, he ignored her and turned his attention back to Ryan.
Ryan let a few more minutes pass before finally clapping his hands, his voice booming through the area.
"Alright, congrats to those of you who made the cut-off rank!"
His smile widened.
"You are now officially candidates in this year’s Ambassadors Academy Entrance Exam."
A murmur spread through the remaining youths. Some grinned in excitement, while others let out deep sighs of relief.
Ryan then tilted his head slightly.
"Now, let’s get to the fun part."
His grin turned mischievous.
"The first phase is gonna be... intense. You guys are gonna love it."
A few of the candidates looked uneasy. Creed, however, just smirked.
Oh? This was getting interesting.
Ryan gestured for them to follow him, and without hesitation, the remaining candidates moved forward.
Meanwhile, the disqualified ones were being escorted out of the venue by guards.
They walked for a few minutes, the sound of boots against pavement echoing through the air.
Then, they arrived at a massive clearing. And in front of them was a dimensional rift. Creed’s eyes widened slightly.
"No way..."
Someone from their batch whispered in disbelief.
"The exam is taking place inside a dimensional rift?!"
Creed furrowed his brows.
That... wasn’t normal.
Dimensional rifts were usually filled with dangerous creatures and unpredictable environments.
They weren’t the kind of places you just threw candidates into for an exam.
This was going to be a lot more dangerous than expected.
Then, abruptly, a man appeared. He didn’t walk, he didn’t make a sound, he just appeared like a shadow given form.
He was dressed in a long, black cloak, and despite the fact that he was right in front of them...
His presence was unnerving. He had no aura, no pressure, nothing that indicated he was even a living being, and yet every instinct in Creed’s body was screaming at him that this was someone who could kill them all in an instant if he wanted to.
Pinned onto his chest was a small, silver and blue badge. The emblem of the Ambassadors Academy. But that didn’t make him any less scary.
Some of the other candidates were visibly shaken.
A boy standing near Creed was breathing too fast, his face pale. Another girl was clutching her hands together, her fingers trembling slightly.
But Ryan?
Ryan just grinned. Like all of this was just another fun game to him.
Creed sighed internally. Of course it was.
Then, without sparing them another glance, the man in black spoke in a cold absolute voice.
"Enter."
The air seemed to shift, a feeling of deep, oppressive danger settling over the candidates.
"Begin the trial at once."
For a moment, no one moved.
The air was thick with tension, every candidate frozen in place as they stared at the dimensional rift in front of them.
It pulsed with a deep, eerie glow, like a living thing, its swirling energy stretching and twisting in unpredictable ways.
Even Creed, who had been feeling pretty confident up until now, had to admit that it looked... intense?
Then, without any warning, the man in black spoke again.
"I said enter."
The words weren’t loud. They weren’t yelled. But the weight behind them was crushing.
Immediately, the closest candidates jerked forward, as if their bodies had moved before their minds even processed the command.
Creed narrowed his eyes. This man was dangerous, not just because of his power, but because of his authority.
Whoever he was, he was someone that even the most arrogant geniuses here wouldn’t dare defy.
Taking a slow breath, Creed rolled his shoulders and stepped forward, walking toward the rift.
The moment he moved, others started following, as if his action had given them the confidence to move as well.
Amara was right beside him again. Still staring.
Creed glanced at her briefly before looking away. freewebnoveℓ.com
Seriously.
What was with her and staring at him?
Did he have something on his face? Was she admiring his handsome profile? Or was she just trying to see if he’d chicken out?
Not happening.
With a smirk, he strode forward without hesitation, and within seconds, the rift’s swirling energy consumed him.
The first thing Creed felt was nothing.
For a brief second, his entire body was weightless, suspended in an endless void of swirling colors. There was no sound, no movement, just an eerie sense of floating.
Then, Gravity slammed into him. Hard. His stomach dropped as he felt himself falling fast.
Wind howled in his ears as his body plummeted downward, the force pressing against his chest like an invisible hand trying to crush him.
"Oh, come on!"
Creed barely had time to flip his body before he caught sight of what was below him.
A massive, sprawling ancient jungle stretched out as far as the eye could see, its dense canopy of dark green leaves illuminated by a sky filled with three massive suns.
And he was falling straight toward it!
From the corner of his eye, he caught glimpses of thousands of other candidates also free-falling, some of them flailing wildly, others activating their abilities in a panic.
One poor guy was screaming his lungs out, arms flapping uselessly.
Creed, on the other hand, took a deep breath and twisted his body midair.
Lightning crackled around him as he activated his primordial link, using brief bursts of lightning to slow his descent.
Amara, he noticed, wasn’t struggling at all. She was calmly controlling her fall using her own ability, a thin layer of wind energy coiling around her body like a protective shield.
Creed was a bit shocked. He thought she had an ice based talent, how was she able to use wind as well?
She had more than one talent? And she was not even top 10,000?
Creed grinned.
"Well, this is fun."
The ground was rapidly approaching now, and Creed kicked off the air one last time, flipping himself over and landing gracefully on one of the massive jungle trees, his feet barely making a sound.
Others, however, weren’t so lucky.
THUD.
A boy slammed face-first into a thick tree branch.
"AAAGHH!"
CRACK.
Another poor soul crashed through multiple layers of branches, disappearing into the jungle below with a scream.
Creed winced. That sounded painful. But before he could process anything else, a loud, guttural roar echoed through the jungle.
The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end.
A new voice, this time a mechanical one, rang out from his dimensional bracelet.
[Trial Phase 1: Jungle Justice!]
[Objective: Cross the forest and board a ferry in 72 hours.]
Creed blinked. Then he smirked.
Oh.
This was about to get very interesting.
