Creating A Succubus Army In A Fantasy World!-Chapter 107: Trial Phase 1! (2)
Chapter 107: Trial Phase 1! (2)
Creed barely needed more than a second to process the trial’s objective before his mind went into overdrive.
[Objective: Cross the forest and board a ferry in 72 hours.]
At first glance, it seemed straightforward—get from point A to point B before the time limit.
But Creed was no idiot. If the Ambassadors Academy was known for anything, it was for being brutally difficult and making sure only the absolute best made it through.
That meant the trial was definitely not as simple as just walking through a few trees and hopping onto a boat.
There would definitely be insane obstacles in the forest. Insane and deadly ones. But that was probably still not everything.
No, crossing the forest was probably only half the battle.
The real challenge?
Boarding the ferry.
The wording of the objective made it obvious—if they were being told to "board" the ferry instead of just "reach" it, that meant actually getting on it wouldn’t be easy.
Would they have to fight for a spot? Would there be limited seats? Would some unfortunate souls make it all the way to the end, only to be blocked from entering?
Creed smirked.
Classic.
At the same time, something else caught his attention; his dimensional bracelet.
A notification had appeared on its screen.
[Ambassadors Academy: Trial Updates Enabled.]
So, not only was the academy monitoring them, but they also had the ability to send direct messages to participants.
The level of control and surveillance they had over this trial was insane. Creed wondered just how much of this realm the academy had claimed.
Did they fully control it? Did they have technology advanced enough to seize over dimensional rift itself?
As he was mulling over this, the branch under his feet suddenly cracked.
Oh.
Before he could react, the branch snapped completely, and he found himself falling.
Creed landed perfectly. He was like a seasoned warrior with years of experience. But his so called perfect landing was right in the middle of...
Three giant tree monsters!
They were humanoid in shape but made entirely of twisted, gnarled bark, their massive 3-meter-tall frames covered in glowing green veins that pulsed with life.
Their yellow eyes flickered with intelligence, and the air around them was thick with the scent of fresh sap and crushed leaves.
For a moment—a single awkward moment—Creed and the treemen just... stared at each other.
Total silence.
Creed blinked. The treemen blinked. Creed mentally cursed.
Why?! Why did this always happen to him? He wasn’t even trying to be unlucky! He just happened to land in the worst possible spot!
And judging by the peak Stage 3 pressure rolling off these things, they weren’t just some weak mobs either.
As if realizing what just happened at the same time, the treemen’s expressions morphed from confusion to aggression.
Then they all pounced at him at once.
"Oh, COME ON!"
Creed didn’t hesitate.
His black and gold spear materialized in his hands in an instant, its 2-meter length feeling like an extension of his own body.
The first treeman swung a massive, branch-like fist straight at his head.
Creed ducked low, lightning crackling around him as he sidestepped the attack. The sheer force behind the swing made the air ripple, and where he had just been standing, the ground cracked apart.
’Yup. Definitely strong!’
The second treeman lunged from the side, its wooden claws aiming for his ribs.
Creed pivoted, spun his spear like a blur, and slashed across its chest in one smooth motion. His weapon’s razor-sharp edge easily tore through its bark-like armor, sending splinters flying.
The treeman staggered back, green sap leaking from its wound, but it didn’t go down.
The third treeman tried to grab him from behind.
Creed flipped backwards, kicking off its chest in midair, then drove his spear straight down into its head as he landed!
CRACK.
The treeman collapsed instantly, its body spasming before it stopped moving completely.
The other two treemen hesitated now, their glowing eyes flickering as they reassessed the situation.
Creed grinned.
Too late.
With blinding speed, he burst forward and delivered a brutal thrust to the injured treeman’s chest, his spear piercing straight through it like a hot knife through butter.
It let out a deep, groaning wail, before it, too, collapsed.
The last treeman tried to retreat but Creed didn’t let it. He spun his spear in a flash of black and gold, then slashed horizontally.
The final treeman’s head detached from its body and rolled across the ground.
Its lifeless corpse fell backward. Creed exhaled, rolling his shoulders. That was way too easy!
He couldn’t help but feel smug.
These were peak Stage 3 creatures. They were very strong, fast, and durable. Just a month ago, he would’ve struggled against just one of them in a life or death battle.
Now?
He barely broke a sweat. His stage 4 physique allowed him to easily steamroll them!
"Heh. I really am getting overpowered."
Just as he was about to retrieve his spear and move on, he heard a deep, guttural noise.
A branch snapping. The unmistakable sound of something large moving through the trees.
Creed turned slowly. Standing there, watching him, was a much bigger group of treemen.
At least twenty of them!
All staring at him in shock!
Creed blinked. They blinked.
Oh.
The realization hit him immediately. The three treemen he just obliterated?
Yeah. They were probably part of this group!
And now their entire squad had just witnessed him massacre their friends in less than a minute.
Creed sighed.
’Why do I feel like this happens to me way too often?’
Then his eyes locked onto one particular treeman amongst the group.
A much taller, much more menacing one, standing at the center of the group. Its body was thicker, its veins glowed a darker green, and the pressure coming off of it was way heavier than the others.
Creed’s eyes narrowed.
Stage 4!
For a moment, there was a tense silence. Then... chaos!
"ROOOOAAAAARRR!!"
The entire group of treemen charged at him.
Creed groaned.
"Oh, for fu—"
Creed didn’t hesitate.
He turned around and bolted.
He knew himself well enough—if he truly wanted to, he could stay and fight. He had zero doubts that, given time, he could take them all down.
His spear techniques were already enough to kill them all, also, he could easily outmaneuver the bulky treemen with his superior speed. However, there was just one small problem.
This fight wouldn’t be quiet.
No matter how fast he cut them down, a battle this large would create too much noise—too much attention.
If even more treemen, or worse, other monsters heard the commotion and started heading his way, he’d be stuck in a never-ending fight.
And why waste time and energy when he could just run?
It was common sense. Only an idiot would stand and fight an army that could keep growing endlessly.
Creed was not an idiot.
So, he ran. And as he ran, he casually raised his hand and summoned Lilith and Tierra.
In a flash of light, two figures appeared beside him; one floating slightly above the ground, the other vanishing into thin air the second she arrived.
Lilith, her long violet hair crackling with lightning, stretched lazily and tilted her head toward Creed.
She raised an eyebrow. "Huh. Master, are you... running?"
Before Creed could answer, Tierra’s disembodied voice drifted through the air, laced with amusement. "Oh? So the mighty Creed is getting chased like a scared little rabbit?"
Creed twitched. "I have a plan, okay? I summoned you two to—"
Too late.
The moment Lilith and Tierra noticed the horde of treemen chasing after Creed, their expressions instantly changed.
Lilith’s purple eyes gleamed with battle hunger. Her body suddenly exploded with Stage 3 lightning intent, the violent, domineering energy crackling around her like a storm barely contained.
Tierra, on the other hand, had already disappeared.
"You’re getting chased? Oh, no, no, no," Lilith said, raising a new weapon; a gleaming, blood-red scythe that looked as deadly as it was beautiful.
She grinned. "This is unacceptable. We’re fixing this."
"Wait, that’s not why I—"
Before Creed could stop them, they charged.
Lilith swung her scythe, and the air was torn apart.
Thin, narrow arcs of purple lightning blasted outward, shredding through several treemen instantly as if their tough, bark-like bodies were made of paper.
The electric energy spread rapidly, jumping between enemies like a chain reaction, causing treemen to convulse violently before collapsing into lifeless, burnt husks.
Meanwhile, a small, eerie gray flash flickered among the remaining treemen.
And suddenly, one head was gone. Then another Then another. freeweɓnovel.cøm
Tierra’s silent, ghost-like movements were so terrifyingly smooth that even Creed almost had trouble following them.
She was everywhere and nowhere at once, moving so seamlessly through space that the treemen never even saw her. They just died.
In less than ten seconds, Lilith and Tierra had wiped out the entire group.
Except for one.
Creed, who had been watching the entire thing, was genuinely impressed.
His original plan was to keep running, then activate his special artifact ring to turn invincible for a bit—just enough time to shake off any pursuers.
Meanwhile, he had summoned Lilith and Tierra to scout ahead so he wouldn’t accidentally run into an even bigger group.
He could always summon them back if they ran into danger.
But...
Well. Apparently, that wasn’t needed anymore.
He glanced at Lilith and Tierra, who looked incredibly smug about their handiwork. He sighed. "You two really don’t let me finish my sentences, do you?"
Lilith just shrugged. "You summoned us. We assumed you needed help."
Tierra reappeared beside him, flicking some tree sap off her short daggers. "Are you complaining? Because I’d say we did a pretty good job."
Creed glanced around. The battlefield was dead silent. Not a single treeman left standing.
Well—
Almost.
His eyes finally landed on the last remaining treeman: the Stage 4 leader.
The treeman’s glowing yellow eyes were wide, staring at the corpses of its fallen comrades.
It had probably assumed its group was strong enough to overwhelm Creed. But instead, its entire squad had been annihilated before it could even act.
Creed stretched his arms, cracking his neck. "Alright, my turn."
The air around him shifted.
Boom!
His Stage 2 aura erupted, enhancing his physique even further.
His grip on his spear tightened, and Stage 2 Spear Intent flowed through the weapon, coating its edge until it looked almost unreal.
The treeman snarled. Its wooden muscles tensed, and deep within its mind, it had only one thought:
These weaklings dared to kill my subordinates? I’ll tear them apart!
Then Creed moved.
Swoosh!
It was so fast that the treeman barely registered it. One moment, Creed was standing still. The next...
BOOM!
He lunged forward, his spear a streak of pure destruction as it collided with the treeman’s incoming fist.
The impact was cataclysmic.
The treeman’s entire arm was split open, a massive, gaping wound appearing before it even realized what happened.
Worse, the sheer force of the attack sent it flying backward, its massive body crashing into the trees.
For a few seconds, the treeman lay there, its damaged body struggling to move.
Its thoughts were now... different.
’...Actually, maybe I should run!’
Creed watched as the treeman scrambled to its feet, then, without hesitation, it turned and sprinted in the opposite direction.
He raised an eyebrow. "...Did that thing just give up?"
Lilith snorted. "Wow. It didn’t even hesitate."
Tierra smirked. "Smartest decision it’s ever made."
Creed stared after the fleeing treeman. He had to admit, he kind of respected that level of survival instinct.
But also...
"Yeah, no. You’re not getting away."
No one escapes this crime scene!
