Cultivation Daddy-Chapter 101: She has finally Left (1)
After the children finally sat in the carriage, Li Jain drove off. Unlike the first two days of school, Li Jain doesn’t have to worry about waiting in line, he only has to drop them off and they’ll go to their classrooms. Classes at Azure Cloud Academy and Moonstone Scholars Institute start early so the children have to wake up even earlier.
Unfortunately, this has become a challenge for Yuhan, Zhang and Jingxuan. They felt that it was unfair for them to be waking up with the rest, because their classes are one hour behind. So they’d to stay in the carriage for an extra hour. They had to endure the headache of boredom.
"Xiao Xuan, what kind of trip are you going on today?" Li Jain asked when it was four of them left in the carriage.
He had already dropped the others off.
"It’s a trip to broaden our horizons!" Jingxuan grinned as he answered excitedly.
"He meant sight seeing." Li Zhang corrected as he crossed his arms against his chest.
"Are you jealous?" Jingxuan teased earning an embarrassed look from Li Zhang.
"Of course not!" Li Zhang denied vehemently.
"Then why are your words so sour?" Jingxuan asked teasingly.
"Oh, so you can taste words?" Li Zhang sneered.
"Yes, I can." Jingxuan responded proudly.
"Alright, alright," Li Jain interrupted before it became a quarrel between the two: "How come you are the only one who gets to go on a trip?"
Jingxuan smiled brightly: "I was just lucky. All first year students’ names were placed in a box and twenty were chosen randomly. I’m just lucky to be the fifteen choice."
"What are you talking about? This isn’t luck, Xiao Xuan. It must be destiny!" Li Jain said from the front.
"Yeah, you’re absolutely right, father." Jingxuan gave his father a salute as he spoke.
"Stop being dramatic. It is obvious that you were selected because of your age." Li Zhang said sarcastically.
Yuhan thought for a moment and said puzzledly: "It’s strange, they said a sheet was passed around for those interested to write down their names but I didn’t see any paper."
"That’s the whole point! I don’t think there was any paper, the teachers only picked their favorite and the name was drawn." Said Li Zhang.
Jingxuan nodded in agreement: "I guess that must be true then. I don’t remember signing my name either."
"It’s alright, I’m sure there will be plenty of trips in the future. Let’s look forward to it." Li Jain smiled at them in reassurance.
"With that aside," Li Zhang looked at Jingxuan with burning eyes: "Xuan, how many desserts and snacks did daddy give you for this trip?"
Jingxuan scratched his head awkwardly: "Err...not very much..."
Li Zhang rolled his eyes at Jingxuan: "It’s okay if you don’t want to tell me, but you can’t lie about it."
"Well, the thing is... I told Dad not to give me any snacks or desserts today." Jingxuan admitted shyly.
"What?! Why would you do such a..." Li Zhang exclaimed in surprise, but stopped as soon as he realized he couldn’t find the right words to say.
"Do something so dumb?" Yuhan chimed in.
"Yes, that’s the word. Father cooking is the nest in the world. You refuse such a good thing for those tasteless street food?" Li Zhang said while shaking his head repeatedly.
"I know Dad’s cooking is the best but we are going downtown today and everyone is excited about buying different types of food. I just want to try it too, so I told Dad and he said it was OK. He even gave me an allowance for today." Jingxuan explained innocently.
"Not bad, how much allowance did Dad give you?" Li Zhang knew it was best not to go into too much detail for his own peace of mind, but he couldn’t help his curiosity.
"Five hundred low-grade spiritstones." Jingxuan shrugged nonchalantly: "It’s all here."
Li Jingxuan took out a transition slip and showed it to them. Li Zhang’s jaw nearly fell to the floor as he stared at the transition slip.
"This is five hundred high grade spirit stones, and you even have a transition slip?... Is that really necessary?!" Li Zhang’s voice was full of disbelief.
"Of course! If not, why would father give it to me?!" Jingxuan snapped back, then he smiled teasingly: "Wait, don’t tell me you didn’t get one. I saw it with Jian ge and Xin a few days ago."
"Shut up." Li Zhang said under his breath, not knowing how to answer. How is he supposed to know what condition they’re receiving it under? But he knew for sure that eventually, he would definitely get his own transition slip.
"Humm... guys, it’s time to go to class? The class will start in 5 minutes." Li Jain said as he knocked on the window of the carriage.
"Coming!" the three yelled in unison.
"Bye Dad," they said as they left.
Li Jain let out a sigh of relief and drove away. That little brat really knows how to make him feel guilty. He did plan to give each of them a transition slip, unfortunately, he found out that few were missing , which caused him to feel like he had no choice but to go back to the bank later and get more.
After the kids left, Li Jain didn’t go home right away. He didn’t need to stay on Juanxin’s campus either.
After Juanxin found out that he was tired and fell asleep in the carriage on the first day, he felt guilty and told Li Jain not to wait on him anymore.
Li Jain made his way to where he saw the Sky Splitting Eagle the last time. Once he helps Fan Ruyin form a contract, the woman will return to where she came from.
Although he felt that as a mother she has the right to stay with her children for as long as she wanted, he couldn’t ignore the fact that his children didn’t like her.
When Li Jain arrived at the area, he didn’t have to look too long. A sharp cry tore through the sky like a blade drawn from its sheath. Wind pressure slammed down over the Ridge, bending grass and snapping branches.
Li Jain gaze shifted towards the direction. A massive eagle circle above the clouds. Its feathers were steel-blue with pale silver lines running along the edges.
Its wings stretched to twice the size of three adult humans, making it look huge and imposing.
As soon as it spotted him, it descended lower at an astonishing speed.
A loud crash echoed in the air, followed by another deafening roar.
Li Jain frowned, if it had been a land beast, he could take care of it quickly, but the sky was its domain and it knew it so it was fearless.
Actually, Li Jain isn’t in the habit of releasing his aura like most powerful cultivators. So he is easily overlooked.
Li Jain gathered the wind under his feet and stepped back just before the creature could reach him. When he looked down, the place he was just standing moments ago was now a deep pit.
’As expected of a Sky Splitting Eagle, it really deserves its name.’
The eagle screamed again and swept upward. A blade of wind followed its wings, cutting towards Li Jain. Li Jain lifted his hand and quickly drew a barrier formation in the air. The barrier meets the windblade head on and it shatters.
With a flick of his wrist, Li Jain shot several vines at it. The eagle was very fast and only a few touched it. But even then, it managed to cut through its skin slightly. The wound was still bleeding heavily.
The Sky Splitting Eagle didn’t expect that the human it overlooked actually managed to injure it! It climbed higher, then folded its wings and dropped like a meter. The pressure wave below was tremendous as it descended.
Li Jain narrowed his eyes, he could kill it, but that wasn’t his goal. Even so, capturing it alive wasn’t so easy.
He raised his right arm and formed a seal with his fingers: "Wind Veil Technique."
In the next instant, the entire surroundings became silent. Nothing around him could move, including birds and trees.
Li Jain focused his consciousness, a chain of formation erupted from the ground, covering everything within its range. Then he released his spiritual energy to form a dome around himself. The dome slowly began to expand as the eagle circled above.
The eagle was forced to enter the dome, it flipped its wings repeatedly to break the force field, but it failed miserably. Li Jain continued to form more hand seals, suppressing it.
Finally, the eagle slammed down onto the ground with a thunderous crash. Li Jain walked closer and opened his spatial ring and put the eagle in it.
His mood suddenly improved, now that Fan Ruyin has her departing gift, it was time to say goodbye. He couldn’t wait to see the smile on his little buns faces.
