Few Vermillion Sword Hall students were standing in the courtyard. An instructor was talking with them, occasionally, someone would raise their hands and ask a question which the instructor would respond to.

Students in class were leaning on the window, looking outside eagerly. They wish to be the ones outside going on a trip. Some even wished they could take flight and join the crowd to enjoy themselves.

Xu Pingwen sighed softly; he was feeling regret for being a bit late. His classmates already participated in the treasures hunt event and those that are chosen to go on this trip are winners of the event.

"What happened Xu Pingwen, why are you sighing like that?" Li Zhang whispered next to him.

"I wish I could go on this trip, just imagining how much fun I’m going to miss out on, is infuriating. " Xu Pingwen replied without turning around.

Li Zhang looked at Xu Pingwen, and when he saw his expression he knew that his friend really wanted to go. But how can he comfort him when he himself also wanted to go?

"You shouldn’t be so worried, it was a random selection. We might be selected next time if we’re lucky." Li Zhang said reassuringly.

Suddenly, a student with golden hair shouted excitedly.

"Look, everyone, look! Another bird!" A girl from class pointed at the sky. Everyone turned to look.

There was another colorful bird circling above the campus, its wings extended to twice the size of three adults, yet it was still beautiful.

Everyone was mesmerized by it. After a while, a couple people started cheering, "it’s the blue eagle!"

The blue eagle is a type of exotic eagle. Its name means rainbow. It’s also commonly known as a flying crane among bird species.

"That’s instructor Bai familiar. I wonder what they’re talking about." A student said as they watched their instructor chatting happily with the students from class.

"How do you know?" Asked a friend, curious about the teacher’s identity.

"I’ve seen it before with him," the student replied proudly.

Xu Pingwen was also mesmerized by the boy, but when he remembered what Li Zhang had just said, he paused and turned back.

"Did you say the students chosen for this trip are randomly selected?" He asked with a frown.

"Yeah, I heard so." Li Zhang nodded, still keeping an eye on the blue eagle. He doesn’t like it much.

"That’s not right. The students chosen for the trip are the winners or excellent contributors of the treasures hunt event. I didn’t come to school on the first day so I missed out on it." Li Pingwen said firmly.

"Oh? I didn’t know that... Wait, the treasure hunt? If a team finds six keys, would they be qualified?" Li Zhang asked, he was already having a bad feeling.

"Yes, they are overly qualified! The requirements are, any four keys per team and three per individual player." Li Pingwen explained.

"... That lying bastard!" Li Zhang cursed as he clenched his fist.

Li Zhang looked intensely at the crowd, after searching carefully, he finally noticed a familiar figure. The boy was surrounded by his friends and seemed to be quite happy with himself. Li Zhang immediately recognized him. He is Chen Liwei!!!

It seems like he got cheated again. Although there is always the possibility of being played by ChenLiwei that scumbag, Li Zhang didn’t expect it to happen the second time they met and the first day of school at that!

He slammed the door open, ignoring the teacher angrily cursing behind him: "Li Zhang !" "Chen Liwei! Don’t you dare run away! You should stay here and explain yourself right now!" Li Zhang shouted angrily as he chased after Chen Liwei.

"Oh it’s you Zhangzhang. Just the person I wanted to see." Chen Liwei stopped in his tracks to face the enraged Li Zhang with a smile as if nothing happened.

"Cut the crap! You should better start explaining now that I’m still in a good mood!" Li Zhang demanded angrily, pointing a finger at Chen Liwei.

"This is your good mood, then I wonder what your bad mood would look like..." Chen Liwei muttered

"What did you say?" Li Zhang glared at him coldly, anger burning through his eyes.

"Nothing." Chen Liwei shrugged casually,

"Chen Liwei! Stop playing games and give me an explanation right now!" Li Zhang growled menacingly as he raised the finger again.

"Ok, ok, alright, alright! Calm down will you?! I don’t even know what explanation you want." Chen Liwei said with a smile, he was in a very good mood.

"About the treasure hunt event. I had to leave early that day because something came up. I know our team won and you were given special privileges. Why wasn’t my name on the list for the trip?!" Li Zhang stared hard at Chen Liwei.

Chen Liwei raised his hands innocently: "So that’s why you’re furious like a furry beast. Calm down first let me explain." Chen Liwei cleared his throat as he started his explanation: "After you left, our team did win but... you and I were only a team in name. You didn’t register so... you weren’t on the list as a participant."

"You! You tricked me again!! You said I was a part of your team" Li Zhang accused.

"I did, but I was so excited that I forgot to take you to register. But don’t worry, it won’t happen again next time." Chen Liwei said as he patted Li Zhang’s shoulder.

Li Zhang shook him off: "There won’t be a next time. I’ll be a fool to ever believe you again. You’re such a lying bug!"

"Why won’t you believe me when I’m telling you the truth? Is your heart so easily broken? It wasn’t a big deal, besides I’ll tell the principal that you were also on the list so he can grant you the winning privileges." Chen Liwei didn’t give up and put his hands around Li Zhang’s shoulder.

Seeing that this guy wanted to trick him again, Li Zhang remained calm and smiled: "You’re right, it was just a minor mistake that can be fixed. So... as long as I’m not going on this trip, don’t even think about going either!"

Li Zhang laughed. "Is that so? Then let me thank you for all the trouble. But don’t be mistaken. You and I are not friends and probably won’t be."

"You said probably. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. That’s what my father would say." Said Chen Liwei, waving his hand dismissively as they walked to the instructor.

"Instructor Bai, this is Li Zhang. My teammate I told you about, he changed his mind and decided to join after all." Chen Liwei said to Instructor Bai.

"Oh... Li Zhang. Welcome, welcome. Liwei said you were hesitant to go on this trip but don’t worry, it’s going to be fun." Professor Bai said while smiling brightly.

Li Zhang nodded: "Thank you for having me."

"Now please join the line." Instructor Bai hands him a pass token.

"Okay." Li Zhang took it, gave Chen Liwei a deadly look and walked towards the line.

"What? Are you speechless by how awesome I am?" Chen Liwei smirked.

Li Zhang stopped and looked at him for a long while before admitting: "I am indeed speechless of how deceitful you are!"

"So I’ll have missed out on the trip if I didn’t confront you."

"But you did, I knew you would. It was an interesting game of cat and mouse." Chen Liwei replied.

"You are a shameless brat." Li Zhang said bluntly and ignored him.

He didn’t want anything to do with his person. He didn’t have enough brain cells for this and was already mentally exhausted. Chen Liwei followed him silently while smiling widely.
