Fu Seng picked the children up from school today because Li Jain was busy.

As soon as they got off the carriage, they started shouting, calling their Dad.

"I’m here, in the kitchen." Li Jain heard the noise and called them.

The moment they burst through the door, they were greeted by scents of ripe fruits.

"Hello, Daddy."

"How are you guys doing?" Li Jain looked up with a face on his face as he wiped his hands on a towel.

"We’re good. What are you doing?" Li Jingxuan asked, looking at the countertop. He could already guess what was happening.

"I’m experimenting with new flavors for the smoothies. Everyone seems to like them." He replied, gesturing towards the colorful fruits laid out. What about you guys?"

"I love it very much!" Li Jingxuan expressed his enthusiasm, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Me too!" Li Juanxin also said eagerly.

They express their love for it one after another. Li Jain listened with a smile, feeling a warmth spread in his chest.

He was very happy. He loved cooking and making treats, although other people love it, he feels more fulfilled when his buns are the ones enjoying it.

"Daddy, can I help you make it?" Li Jingxuan asked with a hopeful grin.

"Me too," Li Juanxin jumped up excitedly.

"I also want to make some." Li Jingsheng said after a bit of hesitation.

Li Jingxuan looked at him as if he had misheard: "You? You want to help Dad make smoothies?"

Li Jingsheng nodded: "Yes! I want to help too. It’ll be fun!"

"I doubt that’s the reason." Li Jingxuan frowned

"What makes you say that? Are you saying that I’m not helpful and can’t help around the house?’ Li Jingsheng crossed his arms defiantly.

"That’s not what I meant. This is not a chore, and you’re not the volunteer type." Li Jingxuan shrugged

Li Jingsheng narrowed his eyes: "I can be helpful if I want to be! Besides, why do you want to make smoothies?"

Li Jingxuan scoffed: "So I can carry more tomorrow, isn’t it obvious?"

"You can’t do too much in one day. This drink is too sweet so it doesn’t hurt your stomach." Li Jain said from the side.

"Tell him, father."

"I’m carrying just in case. There are some people who ask for a sip and keep coming back. It’s so difficult to say no." Li Jingxuan complain

Li Jingsheng sneered, brushing off his brother’s excuse with a wave of his hand: "You could’ve just told them to get their own. We’re not a charity drink bar!"

"Ha, I knew it! You don’t like to eat too much sweets, or pretend not to like. So there is no way you had finished all five big cups of smoothies. You sold it, didn’t you?!" Li Jingxuan gaped as if he’d found reason behind Jingsheng’s actions.

Li Jingsheng’s face flushed deep red with embarrassment. Selling is not a bad thing, so why when Jingxuan said it, it feels so wrong?

"I did no such thing!" He denied it unconsciously.

"Oh yeah? Then where are the remaining ones? Or has it gotten to the point where you alone drink five big cups of smoothies? You can’t possibly have so much sweets and not feel sick!" Li Jingxuan pressed on with a knowing smile.

"Find! Maybe I did share a few..." Li Jingsheng admitted with a resigned sigh.

"He said share..." Li Jingxuan teases and others laugh.

"The tide has turned. I can’t believe Xuan is the one teasing Sheng." Li Yuhan smirks.

"It’s because Sheng is quick to get embarrassed." Li Zhang said and pulled Jingsheng into his arms.

Jingsheng just wanted to dig a hole and bury himself in it. He was so embarrassed: "You’re all the worst!"

Their laughter grew louder at his accusations.

"It’s not wrong to sell. I say Xiao Sheng did the right thing." Li Jain intersected: "Those of you who want to help, how about you take a shower first, then we can get started?"

"Daddy, I want to make my own flavor." Li Juanxin said excitedly.

"You can create your own signature flavor, as long as you’re willing to experiment a little. We have plenty of fruit to work with."

"Ok, I’ll go take a shower first." Li Juanxin said and rushed inside before anyone could react.

"Xin, you stop right there! Don’t you dare enter the shower first. You shower like an old man, I’m not going to spend half an hour waiting for you!" Li Jingxuan chased after him.

"What’s wrong with taking long showers? Being washed under the water is nature’s way of relaxing. You guys who like taking short showers are so weird. Xuan you should try it next, instead of chasing Xin." Li Zhang said with a grin

Li Yuhan shook his head: "I don’t agree with you on that. There’s no point in taking a longer shower except to waste others’ time. That’s why I made sure to shower before you in the morning."

"Suit yourself." Li Zhang shrugged.

After the children finished showering, they came back to the kitchen. Li Jain was already done packaging his business smoothies. Because the little ones took two hours just to shower!!! He had no idea why they always took so long.

Li Cheng told Li Jain that he wanted more of the mango flavor for school tomorrow. He and Yuhan had lots of homework so they couldn’t help.

While Li Jain helped the younger children how to make smoothies, the two of them went to the study to do their homework.

"So what exactly happened to brother Jian?" Li Cheng asked suddenly.

"Are you trying to distract me?" Li Yuhan looks up suddenly with a frown which makes Li Cheng take aback.

The aura Li Yuhan emitted just now when he looked up was similar to Yujian’s, suppressing!

Li Cheng regains his composure and raises his eyebrows: "You guys can switch bodies?"

Li Yuhan sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration: "No, we just share a level of annoyance." He glanced at his paper in annoyance. He was almost done with the diagram but now it messed up.

"Look what you made me do. You could’ve chosen other times to distract me. Not now!!"

"I didn’t mean it. Besides, I didn’t know what you were doing." Li Cheng rolled his eyes: "There’s something going on with you and brother Jian and I’m going to find out."

"Besides, can’t you handle a bit of distraction without losing your mind?" He added

"Listen genius, I can’t afford to mess up like you. My time is far more valuable than sitting here and doing homework. Besides, if you’re worried about Jian, go ask him yourself. After all, he’s right in father’s room and father didn’t say we can’t enter." Li Yuhan huffed and leaned back in his chair, exhaling sharply.

"I tried asking him about that but he didn’t say anything."

"Listen Cheng, it’s complicated. Jian doesn’t talk about it. Plus, we shouldn’t pry into everyone’s business. He’ll tell us if he wants to. Let’s just finish this homework first. But since you messed up my diagram, you should at least help me to remake it."

"Why should I help you?"

"Because you owe me for the distraction!" Li Yuhan shot, narrowing his eyes: "Besides, I want to go into the secret realm later."

Having something look perfect or pretty doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll taste good.

Li Jain chuckle and ruffle Li Juanxin’s hair: "Don’t be disappointed, just think about balancing the flavors next time." He took a sip and nodded: "But hey, it’s really good, just a bit sweet."

"Let me redo it, it’ll be better this time." Li Juanxin was encouraged and felt very proud of himself.
