Chapter 455: Only In His Dreams

After Darian’s words, all six immortals went silent for a few seconds.

Up in the skies, the immortal Reignar — from planet Grandmist, number one in the universe — narrowed his eyes, staring at Darian. Then he turned toward Painita, Aurix, and Caliris, who stood on the ground below.

"What kind of ridiculous idea is this? Did you three agree to that?"

Painita sighed. She didn’t know anything about those plans, but she’d been waiting for the missionary’s arrival for a long time. Something needed to change in that universe — or everyone’s fate would end in destruction.

"Of course we did," she answered seriously. Then Aurix and Caliris also nodded without hesitation.

The Harrier Haekla snorted. Her eyes gleamed with killing intent, and her body began to emit an intense golden aura. That was rebellion — they were clearly trying to cut down their influence.

"Calm down," the Oni beside her said coldly. He and Reignar both stared at Caliris, their eyes glowing as they assessed her.

Everyone knew Painita and Aurix were completely against them in every way and had even become Spiritual Sovereigns the hard way. But they were only two against five, so they had no real say in decisions.

Now, however, an immortal had been killed. And Caliris — known for being the coldest and most imposing among them — had actually switched sides? Something was really off.

They could never have imagined that an immortal had actually been enslaved. And even if they did, they wouldn’t be able to sense it without analyzing things very carefully, since it was done by a power far above theirs.

"Let’s start from the beginning. We got an emergency call from Elpen. What happened here? How was Elpen killed?" Reignar asked bluntly.

The three immortals on the ground didn’t answer. Darian just gave a faint smile and said:

"How he died isn’t your concern. But why... well, it’s exactly what you’re thinking. No one here’s an idiot, and you all know the chaos that half-elf was causing inside Painita’s territory. He refused to back off when we stripped his influence from the area, teamed up with the Wube family, and started a war. So, he got what he deserved."

Reignar replied coldly,

"Missionary brat, you think you’re the law of the world and the owner of the truth? Think you can fix everything just by killing someone? If you’d just called us—"

"Fuck you and your fancy words." Darian cut him off without hesitation.

"I don’t care what you think; I’m not here to discuss or negotiate with any of you. I’ll make it clearer one more time: our Alliance won’t have any connection with you or your rules. And as for the Wube family, they’ll be completely driven out of our territories too."

"You’re asking for a war between immortals? You sure you want the consequences of that, brat?" the Oni spat.

"Watch your mouth, Guren. Who said anything about war?!" Painita roared at him, her gaze sharp as blades.

"We’re not looking for trouble — just independence. We won’t interfere in your affairs. If you don’t mess with our territories, we’ll live in peace," Darian said, before his eyes gleamed,

"But... if you try to stir up problems in any way — directly or from the shadows, like that dumb half-elf — we won’t hesitate to fight until every last one of you is gone."

The three in the skies glared coldly at the three immortals below. The situation was complicated for both sides. Reignar was the strongest among them, from the number-one planet — but he wasn’t much stronger than Caliris and Aurix, from planets number two and three in power.

Guren, the Oni from planet number four — called Heavenly Mountain — and Haekla, the Harrier from planet number seven, which shared the same name as her race, had a noticeable power gap compared to numbers two and three.

Painita was the weakest of them all, but her Primordial Dragon bloodline made her incredibly resilient. She wouldn’t die easily and could serve as a shield for one of the others.

The sealing inscription around the planet had been designed to trap a single immortal until death — not three at once. If the three of them attacked the runes together, they could destroy them quickly. But the three who created that formation had already burned through half their energy, making a fight now far riskier.

In the end, if all six fought — now or in the near future — it would probably end in a draw, with no one managing to kill anyone. They’d all end up retreating.

The death of the half-elf named Elpen was a crucial factor. Those immortals had never imagined something like that could happen. And the fact that Caliris had switched sides was the most unbelievable part.

On top of that, there was a ticking time bomb: the missionary.

He was still weak, but the stories about missionaries were terrifying. He could grow fast — and if he ever reached their level, the whole game would change completely.

Reignar thought coldly. The best move, for now, was to wait. They needed to find out how Elpen really died. Even facing three opponents, he shouldn’t have died in under five minutes. That was impossible.

And Caliris’s sudden change was suspicious — there were too many things they didn’t know. They needed to assess everything first before making any move.

"I get what you want, but... there’s a problem," Reignar said calmly, locking eyes with Darian.

"You said you’d kick the Wube family out of your territories, right? I see no issue with that on the planets under the three immortals’ control — after all, they’re outsiders. But... that family has a homeworld, the place they were born. You consider that place yours too, since you were born there, right? Trying to drive them out of that human planet is the same as kicking someone out of their own house. That sounds pretty wrong — and hypocritical — coming from you. After all, you blamed Elpen’s death on him interfering in Vadise."

Darian snorted. That elf was clearly trying to stir up a conflict. If Darian snapped back, Reignar would label them as tyrannical and bloodthirsty for killing the half-elf, giving him an excuse to spread rumors and twist the story right from day one.

But if Darian agreed, they wouldn’t be able to expel the Wube family from Earth immediately.

"Following your logic, I was born on Earth, so I can do whatever I want to them since I’m from there, right? That means it’ll just be an internal conflict — not outside interference like that bastard who died."

Darian said it calmly, and Reignar nodded. "Exactly. If you want to form an alliance separate from us — something peaceful and without conflict — then it’s only fair we establish clear rules. No outsiders are allowed to forcefully interfere with any planet, or else you’ll just be oppressors trying to dominate mortals. And if that happens, we’ll have to stop you at all costs."

Darian almost laughed at the sheer hypocrisy. But he didn’t want to give them a reason to attack openly on the very first day. He needed time to grow, no matter the cost; and at least at the start, keeping things quiet — even knowing they’d try to destroy them later — would buy him precious time.

"Fine, sounds fair. No one from outside Earth will attack the Wube family. The same goes for other planets. Anyone who wants to join us or you guys will do it by their own choice — we’ll never force anyone. They’ll either accept joining the alliance and follow the rules or leave." Darian said evenly.

"Good. I don’t see a reason for this separation, but it’s fair to try new things. Let’s gather our allies and make this division official." Reignar said, satisfied.

The Wube family would obviously side with Reignar’s alliance — not because they got along, but because Darian clearly hated them and wanted them gone. The enemy of your enemy becomes your ally.

Since Darian was still weak, the Wube family would at least have a few years of survival left on Earth. That would give them time to take root and take advantage of the situation. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

"And what about Runedell and Elpen’s territories?" the Oni Guren asked coldly, clearly scheming something.

"Two-thirds of Vadise’s population are descendants of people from Runedell. And Painita has the bloodline of an elf from that place. She can consider herself part of it — so it’s only fair that it all becomes her territory. Otherwise, a civil war would break out for control, bringing nothing but destruction and pain to the people here." Darian stated calmly.

Haekla smiled. "Oh? Then by your logic, everyone with Wube blood, mixed with people from other planets, also counts as being from Earth."

"Exactly," Darian nodded. "If there’s undeniable proof someone’s bloodline links them to another planet, then they belong to that place. So Painita has every right to claim that planet and all of the dead guy’s territory as hers."

Reignar nodded. "Sounds fair. I hope you remember your own words. In the future, we’ll need to clearly define all the other rules and make them public."

"Yeah. All planets with Spiritual Guardians must decide which Alliance they belong to. We’ll keep things organized to avoid unnecessary conflict. Our goal isn’t war."

After Darian spoke, he exchanged glances with the three in the sky.

He wanted to strip them of their power and dominance over the universe by dividing everything? Only in his dreams. They all stared at him coldly, making it clear this wouldn’t last long. But, for now, both sides chose silence, assessing the situation.

"Well, with everything settled, let’s take our leave," Reignar said with a faint sigh. Then he grabbed a crystal and crushed it with his hand. At that moment, the entire inscription covering the planet vanished.

With a snort, they exchanged one last meaningful look with Darian, then turned and disappeared into the void.

After the three immortals left, Darian let out a deep sigh. Things were about to get really dangerous now, and he needed to grow fast — like someone with a rope around his neck.

Without wasting time, he activated his curse. Then he turned in one direction, sensing an extremely dense black karma. "In the next city, don’t let anyone escape."

She pointed toward an area outside the capital. Hearing that, Caliris moved instantly, entering the void and appearing at the spot right away. That was where the Wube family lived — in Runedell.

"I have to go back..." Painita remembered the battle that was probably already happening. But Darian stopped her.

"Don’t worry, I sent help to them beforehand," he said calmly. "From now on, this planet and everything else will be your territory. You should start organizing things here."

Painita sighed and nodded. Without delay, she turned to the three old men with nine rings, staring at them coldly. The three let out heavy sighs, already knowing what was coming.

"Fuck this." One of them spat. Then all three snorted, and their bodies exploded in a violent suicide.

Painita simply raised her hand, and a red aura covered several meters around them, containing the explosion completely without destroying anything nearby.

Meanwhile, Darian moved toward the half-elf immortal’s body, taking back his bow and space rings. Then he examined the corpse carefully.

’Weird... it feels like a regular mortal body. According to that book, those who reached the immortal level gained an immortal body too — a body that became an unmatched treasure.’ Darian thought, disappointed. "Maybe... yeah, becoming an immortal shouldn’t be that easy. A Spiritual Guardian reaching it is a simpler route — but it makes them way weaker in certain aspects. Only their souls turn immortal, not the body. That’s why Remira’s level of power felt so astronomically higher."

Darian ignored the corpse.
