Damned Healer-Chapter 492: I’m Enough
A thick cloud of dust covered everything. In the middle of it, Darian stood up, staggering, his ethereal body completely fractured. He had almost exploded, but managed to protect himself by controlling the attack's energy and reducing the damage.
Behind him was Lucy, completely unharmed. Darian had moved at the last second to protect her, taking almost the entire impact. In just two seconds, the white power healed him completely.
"Damn, how the hell did they find us so fast? They even had the power to pull us out of a teleport halfway through?" Darian was shocked. They'd almost been destroyed by the force that had hit them.
"That idiot King didn't know everything after all… he was the weakest of them," Lucy muttered seriously, feeling the danger they were in. But when she looked at the calm Darian in front of her, she took a deep breath, feeling a deep sense of confidence.
Darian quickly sensed the direction the enemy presences were coming from. Then he grabbed Lucy and dashed toward the Ring of Life, where their allies were.
That attack probably couldn't be used a second time, and since the enemies thought they were dead, that would buy them some time.
Awel unleashed his full power, propelling them through the air at incredible speed. But after a few minutes, the void trembled, and violet thunder roared from behind.
Hundreds of terrifying auras were closing in fast — all White Blood beings with nine circles. They were chasing directly, moving at absurd speeds, tearing through space to close the distance in the blink of an eye.
Even so, Darian could already see the exit ahead and kept going.
The battle led by Niara's army was still raging. If he could reach her, he'd be able to return to his real body and hold out until the end of the day, when the enemies would be forced back into the Ring of Death.
Niara was fighting countless figures with seven, eight, and even nine circles — but that wasn't a problem. At her side were members of the clan in Milky Way, along with the princes and princesses of Vadise. They were all powerful and battle-hardened, so she could fight without worrying about protecting anyone.
Darian closed in quickly... but his joy vanished in an instant.
Far ahead, he saw the exit blocked by thousands of powerful figures. They weren't part of the assault on the Ring of Life — they'd come just to stop the two of them from escaping.
Darian couldn't understand how the White Bloods had reacted so fast. And worse, many of them had nine circles. Alone, without his real body, he didn't stand much of a chance. Flying straight into them would be suicide.
Darian exhaled sharply and focused, pulling the Divine Flame Of The Mind from his inventory and removing the seal.
"I need your raw power," he muttered, remembering how the Divine Flame Of The Soul had easily wiped out enemies before.
A deep voice answered, "Sorry, Sir… I was drained recently. I don't have the strength to do much."
Darian nodded. Back then, Niara had given all her power to the Flame, but this time, he didn't have that option.
"Don't worry. Just unleash everything you have — don't hold back. But keep a trace of life intact. I'll handle the rest."
As Darian and Lucy advanced, the army on the other side also attacked with full force. They already knew about the invasion and were stationed near the border, ready to respond.
When they saw the alarms and the movement inside, they understood what had happened. Under Niara's command, the army went all out — like a sharp blade slicing through the enemies ahead.
The enemy army also received new orders. They quickly reorganized their formations; the infantry maintained the blockade against Niara's army, while the rest pulled back and focused on stopping anything coming from the Ring of Death — forming a second barrier.
"I see him — it's the Boss! Heaven, what am I looking at?!" Zelkov shouted, stunned, almost losing his balance.
Darian was like a storm ripping through the air. Still distant, not fully visible, but he'd reach them in just a few minutes. Everyone was sure it was him.
But behind him... a massive tide of color covered the sky. It was everyone from the Ring of Death — a force so overwhelming it made the current enemy army look like a drop in the ocean.
"What the hell did he do? Burn their houses and steal all their food?" Tetoya said tensely — and, unknowingly, wasn't entirely wrong.
Darian was being chased closely, and ahead, there were two powerful barriers. In other words, he was counting on their help to break through.
"Give it everything you've got! Clear the way for Darian!" Niara roared. Suddenly, her eyes and body pulsed with a blazing light.
*BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!*
She unleashed devastating strikes, creating craters across the battlefield. The enemies stared at her in shock.
It was as if Niara had finally released her full power. Before, she'd been killing after several exchanges, looking like she was struggling — but that had been on Darian's orders. She had to pretend to be weaker, so when she finally unleashed everything, it would catch them completely off guard at the perfect moment.
The plan worked. All the enemies had figured out that Niara was the biggest problem among them, but based on the power she'd shown before, they thought just the infantry would be enough to hold her back. But...
Niara had turned into a true war goddess — completely unstoppable. With every move, she tore apart those with seven circles like they were nothing but ants. Those with eight circles got seriously wounded with just one strike, and by the second hit, they were blown to pieces.
By the time the enemies realized the trap they'd walked into, it was already too late. Niara was slaughtering them at insane speed, while the rest of the army charged forward with wild momentum.
In barely three minutes, almost the entire enemy infantry had been wiped out.
Then Niara dashed toward the second group that had formed another blockade line. Without the infantry that used to act as their shield, they were completely exposed.
Even though they were powerful warriors — and one of them was a King with nine circles — they all felt a chilling terror when they saw that blood-covered Dragoness charging straight at them without the slightest hesitation.
Behind her, the allied army could feel their own blood boiling. Darian was terrifying — but his partner was just as frightening as he was.
Those from Vadise, now witnessing Niara's true power, were completely shaken. Before, they'd seen her as extremely talented and would never dare look down on her; even so, they believed they could at least compare to her in some way. But now... they realized that during her time living on that planet, Niara had really only been using about 30% of her full strength. That truth was painfully clear now.
Five minutes later, it was over. The entire army that had been attacking the Ring of Life was completely annihilated.
At that moment, Niara and all her allies swallowed recovery pills.
Veyle was among them — she had prepared plenty of pills ever since they'd arrived in that universe, exactly for a battle like this. Without wasting a second, they all rushed toward the Ring of Death, ready to face an even larger army and clear the way for Darian.
"KILL!!!"
They charged in fury, but quickly came to grips with the harsh reality.
There were just too many enemies. On top of that, almost all of them had eight circles — and dozens had nine. The difference was like heaven and earth compared to what they'd fought before.
Those opponents formed an impenetrable wall of power, and everyone could feel that breaking through in time for Darian would be impossible.
Niara was already in a wild frenzy, while the others began to fall into despair...
...until an arrogant voice echoed across the sky and the battlefield.
"Everyone, calm down and fall back to the Ring of Life. I alone am enough to deal with all of them."
Everyone looked up and saw Darian — now completely visible and very close. He was the one speaking, in a calm... and ridiculously arrogant tone.
"What?" They all froze in disbelief.
When Niara heard that, her eyes lit up. "Fall back!" she shouted without hesitation, feeling her heart race.
