Damned Healer-Chapter 573: Sinister Ambush
In the skies, Darian stared coldly at those Alvs; his eyes shone with killing intent.
"Ready?" His words carried no emotion at all.
Without waiting for an answer, his primordial physique seemed to ignite, his aura spinning. Right after that, Darian waved his hand, releasing a torrent of power toward them.
It was like a wave of multicolored light, radiating devastating power.
"ATTACK!"
The leader of the ten thousand Alvs roared, commanding everyone with fear in his voice. Without wasting time, all of them poured out every ounce of power they had, activating the joint Blessing once again.
All of them had nine rings, belonged to an absurdly powerful race, and lived on planet number one. These Alvs had lived their entire lives enjoying absolute prestige; with their power, a single one of them could unleash a terrifying storm. Wherever they went, they were revered as heroes and treated like gods, but...
...in front of that figure in the skies, all they could feel was the deepest despair.
*BOOOM!*
People across the battlefield widened their eyes. The Alvs’ combined attack simply exploded the moment it made contact with the wave of multicolored light.
On top of that, the wave of light was not affected at all and continued to surge toward them.
"Were their attacks just crushed by Darian’s aura?!" Shocked cries echoed through the crowd. Darian had not even truly attacked; he had only released his aura, and yet it destroyed that terrifying strike. The scene left everyone completely stunned.
**BOOOM!**
Waves of wind and raging energy blasted outward in all directions. Lucy reacted instantly, burning through massive resources and making the inscription protect everyone in the army.
All the space inside the crater turned into chaos, but the allied army felt an aura cover and protect them. Their feet dug into the ground, holding them in place without suffering any impact.
The enemies, on the other hand, were completely caught off guard by the storm. Those closest were sent spinning out of control, violently thrown away inside the crater.
’What level of power is this?!’ Everyone in the allied army thought the same thing, their hearts pounding wildly in their chests.
But it did not stop. Deafening booms shook everyone’s ears nonstop.
All they could feel was a terrifying draconic Bloodline erupting, mixed with the sharp sound of Yin blades slicing through even space itself.
Niara and Alear did not waste any time and took advantage of the momentum Darian created to brutally annihilate thousands. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
When space stabilized a few seconds later, people looked ahead...
Millions had died in just a few seconds.
Not a single Alv could be seen. Those glorious, proud, and undeniably powerful figures... had simply been erased from the world.
Darian had not even used a real attack. Yet it created the opening for those two to move in perfect sync, causing maximum destruction with minimal energy consumption. They were like gods crushing ants.
People looked up. At that moment, Darian looked like a god of death, watching the rest of the world from above.
Even with so many casualties, it was not even a third of the enemy’s numbers. Still, at that moment, the Spiritual Guardians’ army was terrified of what they were facing and, as a result, unconsciously slowed down their attacks.
"Don’t be afraid! We’ll crush them in a single blow!" The source of the shout came from the rear of the enemy army.
Aside from the Alvs, the recent deaths were mostly from the front-line figures, who were like weaker soldiers sent out to wear down the enemy. Their deaths did not reduce overall combat power by much, only the numbers.
Next, the truly powerful Spiritual Guardians charged toward Darian.
They believed that move had been extremely taxing; that level of power could only be some kind of very unique offensive Blessing.
So there was no way he could use it repeatedly in quick succession. That was a logical assumption from those who understood the nature of Blessings. The stronger a Blessing was, the more complex it became to use, and after being activated, it usually could not be used again so soon.
Facing that wave of over a hundred thousand charging at him, Darian simply made a gentle forward motion with his hand.
With that gesture, one of the daggers in his hands shot out on its own.
A blue light and a terrifying elemental power erupted instantly.
"!"
Everyone who advanced felt their souls freeze. That dagger carried a savage power and an overwhelming thirst for blood.
*RUMBLE!*
It was as if space itself had cracked open, and from within that a wave of water on apocalyptic proportions burst forth, resembling a tsunami.
That attack swallowed all one hundred thousand as if they were nothing. After being engulfed, they exploded into pieces. Then the attack kept moving forward toward the others.
"This is bad!"
Expressions across the enemy army changed drastically, and they retreated in panic.
But... the level of control and power Eleri wielded was already beyond comprehension. She moved everything, and wherever the waves went, countless Spiritual Guardians vanished. Those waves killed every enemy they touched, regardless of race or affiliation.
As a result, the Spiritual Guardians plunged into chaos.
*BANG!! SLASH!!*
Niara and Alear did not waste that moment. Alear made Yin blades rain down on the rear of the enemy army.
Flying was the same as suicide, since it would turn them into easy targets. Only Darian dared to do that, and at the same time, only someone with no regard for their own life would attack him head-on.
In the enemy army, those in front tried to retreat, while those in the back tried to run forward or to the sides to escape the blades. Many from both sides ended up colliding with each other, slowing things down even more. In the middle of the chaos, most could neither advance nor retreat, making the Dragonesses’ job even easier.
Meanwhile, the allied army only attacked from afar or simply watched.
Everything was unfolding extremely fast. Even the allies, as they witnessed that catastrophe playing out, were horrified, because they had never faced a level of power this terrifying.
Those Spiritual Guardians were not weak people, quite the opposite; even so, they had absolutely no ability to resist.
Millions upon millions were killed almost instantly, turning the inside of the crater into a scarlet scene, with blood flowing like a river.
*BOOM!*
At that moment, hundreds of thousands of enemy Spiritual Guardians had finally gathered and activated a maximum defensive formation.
They managed to stabilize themselves; after all, they were people who had fought many battles, so they were able to keep calm. All the Tanks took the front, protecting the weaker ones.
**BANG!**
However, the ground split open, and black metal spears rose from their blind spot, destroying the formation and killing many.
Darian simply watched while Tir and Eleri attacked on their own, using part of their powers.
But the Spiritual Guardians were not that simple. After a few seconds of countless deaths, they managed to stabilize and create a massive protective barrier. They relied on Supreme Artifacts and all kinds of things, managing to even seal the ground beneath them.
Eleri and Tir returned to Darian in the skies.
When the enemies sighed in relief, thinking they could finally breathe, Niara and Alear were already attacking them head-on. Lucius also commanded the army to advance, while Lucy maintained control of the inscription and the battle formations, connecting everyone and protecting them.
That small army, which all the attackers had previously thought they could massacre, was actually launching a devastating assault. They were like a hot blade cutting through butter.
In just a few minutes, after Darian began attacking at full force, more than half of the enemies had already been devastated.
In the skies, Darian waited patiently, standing still in place.
He only made occasional movements, sending out his two daggers at the right moments, providing support to throw the enemies off balance.
This made the enemies imagine that he was exhausted, only able to use smaller moves now. But... Darian’s senses were completely sharpened while Awel communicated with him.
In a very distant corner from the epicenter of the battle, the entire Wube Family and the Three-Eyed Ravens were completely invisible.
The Wube Family used multiple Supreme Artifacts of concealment and was certain that, in the middle of the battle, with all the energies, attacks, and explosions of power, it would be impossible for anyone to locate them. Not even an immortal would be able to discover where they were or what they were doing.
They were correct. Even Runar, who was at the highest point of the skies, just waiting and observing, lost sight of those people.
He could not tell who was who, so he did not focus on them, but even if he had paid attention, he would only know the general area where they were. There was no way to sense or see anything there.
"!"
In the middle of the battle, Niara suddenly received a message from Darian. She attacked, but this time did not advance, maintaining her current position. In her hands, she clenched a small spatial crystal.
Darian had the same crystal in his hand, discreetly, already activated as well. He pretended that everything was normal, until...
Suddenly, behind his back, without any fluctuation or warning, space gently twisted.
In the middle of that intense battle, space becoming chaotic or slightly distorted was the most common thing there was. At every moment, in all directions, it happened. Even with Darian in the skies, with every major attack on the ground, the environment around him became like that as well.
That was why that movement was perfect.
Completely imperceptible.
And absolutely deadly.
But... long before it happened, an attentive voice had already told him everything.
Darian did not move. In his fist, the spatial crystal pulsed. On the ground, Niara’s crystal also pulsed, and then she disappeared.
"Goodbye!"
In that second, a voice cold as a blade echoed behind Darian. He turned abruptly, and then...
His eyes met a figure that had the same red eyes and green hair. And also... on its forehead, a golden mark pulsed. It was not the nine rings. It was beyond that; it was power coming from an immortal.
"Vanh," Darian murmured coldly.
There was no reply, and the sword slashed forward.
All of his power was used without holding anything back. It was an All Win attack. He was an immortal, and with that move, all the energies of the world below froze. Everything lost its color, and the only sound that existed was space shattering under his devastating strike.
Vanh felt no happiness or joy. In truth, he felt like trash for carrying out such a sinister ambush. But it was definitely perfect and impossible for Darian to defend against. Even he himself, in the same situation, would be dead.
There was no time to do anything, not to move energies or try to use something.
But...
A pair of amber eyes emerged from the void in front of Vanh.
It was a radiant Dragoness who, even covered in scales, still had her large, feminine curves clearly outlined, drawing attention.
Darian smiled. She was his shield and, at the same time, the one to whom he had entrusted all his trust, his hopes, his future, and his life.
Niara emitted a distorted aura. Reality was being altered by her. A blessing that should not exist in the world surged forth from her.
Vanh was surprised by that, but he did not retreat. In fact, he felt pity.
Taking a full hit from him head-on while being a mortal? Even an immortal with a Tank-class blessing would be severely injured. In other words, she would die, and Darian would be caught right after, with his power almost intact.
Niara roared, and the devastating cutting strike hit her cleanly.
